Wirch Bicket

Prepare for my Arrival...
Name: Aurirecesoos
Designation: Sentient

Homeworld: Relovian

Language: Galactic Basic, Vibrations

Average height of adults: 3 meters

Skin color: Ranges from Dark Orange to Light Pink

Hair color: None

Breathes: Atmosphere III, so long as the environment is not extreme in temperature

Strengths: 1. The Aurirecesoos are cell organisms with a hive mind and are therefore difficult to hit or track with conventional weaponry when they are spread out.

2. The Aurirecesoos have the unique ability to use electrical pulses, similar to the ones in human brains, to control off-line droids. They attach all their cells onto the droids inner chassis and use pulses of electricity to activate the parts of the droids as necessary. However, this only works on off-line droids, as the droids natural power source, when active, overpowers the small pulses from the Auriresoos.

3. The Auriresoos are capable of finding holes in supposedly sealed areas, only if the area is not at least water tight. Any area that is water tight or more efficiently sealed will be safe from an Aurirecesoos.
4. The cells within the Aurirecesoos are capable of being brought together through the Aurirecesoos‘ mental power. The cells take about 2 hours to form into a single body, but the separation can accomplish the process in a few minutes.

Weaknesses: 1. The Aurirecesoos are very vulnerable to extremes in environments. Heat and Cold in excessive amounts can be lethal to them. Therefore, blaster fire and cyro-based weaponry are highly effective, if they can hit the Aurirecesoos. Fires are also very dangerous to them as it can quickly burn away the cells that the Aurirecesoos a whole being.

2. The Aurirecesoos are incapable of interacting in the world around them without the use of a droid body. This is due to the fact that even when all the cells are brought together to create a single body, the cells are not bound by anything more than the will of the mind and therefore can be spread about with the simple swipe of the hand through the cells.

3. The Aurirecesoos are very fragile; their cells can easily be destroyed by almost any sort of rapid changes in environment. For example: if they are attached to a droid, to interact with the world or what not, and the droid is powered up, the cells can be burned by the sudden electrical charge. While this would not kill the Aurirecesoos, it would leave the being without a large portion of its cells, which may lead to eventual death.

Distinctions: The Aurirecesoos are by nature gaseous and are most of the time floating cells and molecules that are held together by a single mind. The Aurirecesoos may change their density to become a 'single' organism by having all the cells and molecules come together to take a form.
The cells that make up an Aurirecesoos are plentiful and of many different types. There are about three categories that the cells can be placed in based on their utility to the Aurirecesoos. The largest, at an average of 5.0 micrometers, and most important for communication is the Trameffeco. These cells communicate through one of two different ways: either they will use an electrical charge within their cells to vibrate and create a soft sound that can only be heard by other Trameffeco and creatures that have an incredibly keen sense of hearing. Normally there are about 7500 throughout the ‘body’ of an Aurirecesoos. The second largest cell in the makeup is the Tenius. It is thinner than the Trameffeco and is more important in that it is what breaths and contains the air need by all the cells when all the cells come together to make one form. It expands when it ‘inhales’ to about twice its normal size of 2.0 micrometers. On average there are about 9000 of these throughout an Aurirecesoos. The last and normally smallest cell is the Cibos. The role of the Cibos is to collect food for when the cells coalesce to create one body. Its normal size is about 1.8 micrometers, but it can expand to approximately four times its normal size to allow for increased capacity. The Cibos is the only type of cell that can ingest viruses without any adverse effects. In a normal Aurirecesoos, there are about 9000 of these cells throughout the structure. There are a number of cells within the body that seem to be part of the brain control of the being and then reproduction process and a few other unidentified purposes.

Another interesting feature of the Aurirecesoos is that they live through a peculiar life-cycle. Rather than the standard birth, life, and then death, the Aurirecesoos are 'born' from the mitosis of a previous Aurirecesoos. The newly 'born' Aurirecesoos then begins its own 7 year cycle during which it will steadily grow in the number of cells within its make-up. At the seven year mark, there are so many cells that in order to survive they split into two separate beings. During the split, the original identity of the Aurirecesoos is lost and the two new Aurirecesoos hold only small portions of the characteristics of the original Aurirecesoos. Age therefore does not adversely affect the Aurirecesoos except in that it loses the memory of its previous identities and it starts with only the most rudimentary skills for survival. This appears to be nature's, or maybe the Force's, way of controlling the population as many will die from accidents involving fires and viruses.

Average Lifespan: 7 years per life cycle

Races: At this time there are no distinctions that can be made from one Aurirecesoos to another.

Estimated Population: 200 at most, only on Relovian

Diet: The Aurirecesoos must continually consume a food source in order to survive; bacteria, being plentiful, are the Aurirecesoos' staple food. Very spicy food can create a lot of pain if particles of it are ingested by an Aurirecesoos. Conventional poisons seem to slow Aurirecesoos but have few lasting effects; however, most viruses that are ingested by accident will cause increased life-cycle speed.

Communication: Normally, the Aurirecesoos communicate through the use of vibrating air to create sounds that other Aurirecesoos can feel and understand. When they are in control of a droid, they can use it to speak in Basic, but while in normal form they have incredible difficulty in vibrating the air molecules to such a degree as to create a sound audible by most other sentients.

Culture: The Aurirecesoos’ culture can appear queer to other species, as they interact in using different methods which may seem odd to other people. An Aurirecesoos will rarely meet another of its own kind, simply because there are so few of them in the world. The only time that two will normally meet one another is right at the beginning of their life-cycle when a single Aurirecesoos becomes two. This is such a short time and at a point in their life that they will not remember, as such the Aurirecesoos will not often remember what another Aurirecesoos will look like.
While an Aurirecesoos will rarely meet another Aurirecesoos, if one does then the two will, as characteristically, be quite curious and try to figure out what the other one is. The investigation of each other will eventually lead to the discovery that they are both of the same species, but it will take about an hour to figure that out properly. The way in which they investigate each other has led a number of observers to believe that it is a form of intimacy, due to the fact that their cells all mix together and it becomes difficult to tell one being from the other to outside observers. However, this is not the case; it is simply a procedure that they find easier to perform on a being of such diversity. The fact that both are made up of cells that float about, allows them to see all of each other in a very easy manner, whereas when they explore most other sorts of sentients it is quite difficult to learn much of them because they are one body and much of what makes them is hidden inside beyond the view of Aurirecesoos.
When two Aurirecesoos have come to the realization that they are both of the same species, they tend to stay together for a number of months. They find it most intriguing to be able to speak with another being that understands them and will often have interchanges of thoughts and ideas. However, eventually the two will part ways, feeling that they may meet more like them and maybe they could find some way of understanding the other beings in the galaxy. Since it is highly unlikely that they would meet another Aurirecesoos, the two will normally end up wanderers remembering the conversations they once had and thinking of meeting the one they had known, hoping for the almost impossible.
While Aurirecesoos are capable of higher thought, and often do contemplate philosophies that they learn of in their travels, they will only on occasion think of a religious view. Because their species is so fractured by lack of knowledge, a culture created by them has not been formed and unless a way of storing knowledge is discovered for them it will likely never come to pass. In most cases an Aurirecesoos will pick up the religion of the beings it meets, if it feels that it would help it learn more of the people.
Aurirecesoos are known to settle in areas that are highly populated by other sentient beings. It appears that they find the company most enjoyable as the Aurirecesoos try to study the strange creatures. Interestingly, this seems to be the reason that certain areas in large cities on Relovian have a healthier atmosphere even though it is in a heavily populated city.

Technology level: No technology, only borrow from other cultures.

General behavior: Generally, the Aurirecesoos are quite shy creatures, preferring to avoid contact with people or things that they feel are unsafe. When in a new environment, however, they tend to be very curious, always trying to learn more about their surroundings which often leads to scarring through loss of cells due to running across hostile environments or creatures.

History: Early Aurirecesoos history is mostly unknown due to the fact that there is no written or passed down knowledge. What little history we have of them is what has been written by observers and scientists who studied the peculiar creatures.
Data-files suggest that the Aurirecesoos were first discovered a few years after the first settlers arrived. They were found via an accident in which a scientist did not seal a container of bacteria properly and found that they were steadily disappearing, but they did not leave the container. Upon examination he found that there were alien cells consuming the bacteria. It was a few years later that a number of scientists following up on the strange phenomenon found that there were a number of different cells that attacked most other species of bacteria. No matter how much they tried to figure out what the cells were they simply did not fit into any normal classification.
It appears that studies on the Aurirecesoos halted for quite a while after that discovery. It wasn’t until only a few years ago that an interest in their species was sparked in biologists who wished to be able to understand the truly remarkable creatures. They found that the cells worked in unison, which led to the theory that they were controlled by a ‘hive-mind’. The fact that the creatures began controlling off-line droids to try and communicate with the scientists was found about the same time when a scientist realized that the droids vocabulator was speaking through the use of electrical pulses from the cells.
That fact helped solve a puzzling sequence of events from the early settlers where droids that were shut off would sometimes go berserk; waving wildly and screeching loudly. It is believed that the Aurirecesoos were trying to learn how to communicate through a droid simply because their cells could not vibrate fast enough to communicate with us.
No more history is available at this time, but we will begin documenting everything we see and learn of them so that future generations may learn more using what we have saved.

Notable Player-Characters: None at this point.

Intent: To create a species of creatures that will become an important part of Wirch’s business as he plans the eventual capture of Relovian.

...I love this. I've always liked the idea of another sentient single-cell species, other then Midichlorians. If I wasn't so lazy, I woudl've created one one of these days. Just add in a link for the homeworld, I'll read through it one more time, if I don't find anything else you're approved. :)

[member="Wirch Bicket"] - This looks good. :)

If this is used inappropriately, however, it will be yanked back out for re-judging. Abuse and suffer, like always. I honestly hope, however, that this species survives.

Approved, pending secondary approval.
