  • Description: The Atrisian Naval force consists of the aerospace defense and exploration ships of the Atrisian Commonwealth. From medical aid to exploration and system defense ships it can function with security patrols, far flung exploration or diplomatic chances. They have worked hard to rebuild their forces after offworld rulers took them to overtake far flung worlds on the other end of the galaxy and developed several shipyards through commonwealth space to better improve upon their standing with the people.

  • Membership: Atrisian Bloodlines. Merit is more important with skill but family names or recommendations can help get one a chance to be in the door. Foreign pilots are allowed but put into their own designated squadron.

    Blitz Squadron: One of the more open squadrons that new pilots go through. It is often seen as a place to cut your teeth in a fighter and show to the more prestigious squadrons like Leviathan and Backdraft. Joining requires passing flight classes and 200 hours in the cockpit outside of the simulations.

    Leviathan Squadron: The second tier of squadrons, generally serviing on the larger and more powerful ships where elite fighter pilots are required. These are ones who have tested themselves in several engagements and shown that they aren't just skilled at flying but have a knack for original thinking.

    Backdraft Squadron: More of an internal squadron that has been tasked with capturing the criminal element Jia Ren. The pilots of Backdraft are given special freedoms to infiltrate groups or use highly customizable ships. Membership is based on skill with analytical aspects and performance behind a number of non naval vessels.

    Lost Legion: Survivors of campaigns waged outside of the Commonwealth generally by foreign offworlders. They are highly regarded and mostly honored as rarely they come home either alive or dead. The few who have garner some of the highest prestigue.

    War Wolves: The highest tier of the naval squadrons. Spaces reserved for the best of the pilots who have been tested in rigorous conditions and scenarios. Usually forgoing command of ships to keep on the flight deck.

    Iron Blooded: The Foreign Squadron. The iron blooded fighters are aliens who had moved to Atrisia or joined after their worlds were attacked. Membership is almost exclusively offworlders and rarely will they be brought into another squadron unless Atrisian blood (family or marriage) can be established)
  • Sakuma Class squadrons: Variable squadrons as the limited run fighters are mixed and matched. Sometimes flying together and sometimes flying with in regular squadrons.
  • Climate: Pride from the people of Atrisia, military service is highly valued as they are the defenders of the people.
  • Reputation: Well liked and cared about, through recruitment drives, long standing family tradition and benefits from service the Navy has a solid reputation in the hearts and minds of the atrisian population.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
When the Atrisian's first went into space their early generational ships were escorted and protect to the edge of the system by the beginnings of the navy. Over the centuries it has started to refine itself. Establishing discipline and skills needed to operate, military doctrine to go with the sayings and early Atrisian military. The advances in technology saw more and more emphasis on blending both space and ground based forces that would be able to work together. One to fight and take worlds, the other to transport them and cover the worlds from space. As the Commonwealth initially expanded out to near 200 worlds in the systems near them and formed trade relations the navy expanded to be able to protect the trade routes, handle pirates and explore new opportunities.

As time went on new groups were at the borders of Atrisian space, some entering and overtaking it. The commonwealth was not situated for large scale warfare against galactic powers but it learned and it learned quickly. Reviewing losses and victories to properly adjust and build up their defenses. By the time the kahoshi clan overtook the seat of power and restored the commonwealth into an empire they had developed ambitions and insight. Expanding Atrisian territory throughout many systems even getting as far as the Chiss homeworld of Csilla. The ships were given a once over by their engineers in his plans and by most accounts had he not tried to overtake the Omega Protectorate (formerly pyre) then the Empire might have managed to survive. Instead with the Protectorate at their doors the Lords of the Fringe led by Ashin Cardé Varanin Ashin Cardé Varanin offered an alliance.

The alliance was taken and while the empire fell they did manage to survive getting occupied by the one sith and the galactic alliance. The first order with Shoma Ike Shoma Ike negotiating for the Commonwealth to survive. Now preferring to return to a state of isolated rebuilding. With construction efforts and expansions for the naval academies they were able to better improve upon the curriculum for their students. The early entries for children being sent to a boarding school expand to teach them athletics, mathematics, sciences, xenobiology and archeology. They are given training in skills for dining parties, fire arms and melee weapons, identification of species, advanced language courses to speak several dozen languages across the galaxy. Social scenarios, engineering, medicine, agricultural, political debate, military history and galactic history.

That is on top of intense work outs to train their minds to have high degrees of recall and physical training and sharper wits. Insubordination is not allowed but they are expected to be able to give a comeback or quip in most situations it is called for. Martial arts training from across the galaxy consisting of Alderaanian martial arts, mandalorian Battle Circle's, jedi Broken Gate, Imperial Combat Exercises, Zavat, Teräs Käsi, Bakuuni Hand, Rek'dul, Echani martial arts, Forbelean Defense techniques, Tae-Jitsu, Hijkata, Hosnian martial arts, Jeswandi, Verdanaian "Sliding Hands" method in combination with their Teräs Käsi, K'tara , Zama-shiwo, K'thri and the majority of their recruits are set to be ranked at the Fifth Ascent. In terms of combat prowess they are just as highly trained physically as they are mentally. The Jar'Kai form is an Atrisian standard and tradition.

Additional works in slicing, computer programming, droid and ship repair. Once their education is rounded, they are sent through the more advanced schools for piloting. Using combat craft and simulators to test themselves in several variaties of fighter and capital ships to find what they are most skilled at. Medical testing to check for problems and classes about theory. Scenarios being posed that they have to try and face and overcome or figure out defenses for. Experimenting with their equipment, field stripping ships to cannibalize into weapons and supplies or to repair their armor. Reverse engineering new equipment they might find in the field from dozens of different governments and species to use it themselves or to use it as parts to repair and patch what they need.

Overall the navy was given special attention to make them produce some of the strongest pilots who if they do not make it into a fighter squadron will be able to serve as career officers on the ships going into advanced areas on their own. Or they can leave the military and be citizens on the world themselves. Between the navy and the army with similar and slightly altered training regiments they are rebuilding the people of Atrisia with a sense of loyalty and purpose just like they have been rebuilding the world. Their careers and being part of the Commonwealth as it looks to some of the older systems that were part of it once before and restoring more then just simply Atrisia and its system. There is more though to it, the programs that encourage citizens to join also provide much in the way of benefits.

Military families that send their children and encourage them can be granted additional lands and titles within the government. Government officials are required to have served within one of the two military branches for at least four years and have no charges of misconduct against them. Recruitment is much the same as unless they come through the junior academies teenagers or young adults at 16 years of age need have no criminal offenses. Those injured in combat or training are given two options. Discharge with honors for their service and with some circumstances fulfillment of their service requirements. Or they can stay on in a different department working to improve the system for others. Those who fail in the academies and wash out as some would say are generally dismissed back into the work force.

The criminal offenses have three areas they can be tried. Minor offenses that are not real or major crimes are presided over by the highest authority on base. With generally simple punishments. No defense personnel are needed and no criminal charges are levied. Giving up a large portion of their salary, hard labor for several weeks and demotion being the most severe. When criminal charges are levied against them a tribunal is called for and presided over one of the sector commanders. The previous punishments are on the table albiet harsher with more pay docked, longer labor sentences, further demotions up to and including bad conduct discharges where they can be tried if it is pursued by the Atrisian or local law enforcement elements.

The highest court for the most severe offenses. It is presided over by twelve commanders and either the emperor or empress themselves and sees war crimes or heinous crimes tried. The punishments range from life sentences to exile and can include even death if it is seen as the verdict. If the crime is commited by an offworlder who has joined the offworlder legions then there are diplomatic channels with their people should the species government exist and wish to intervene.
