A life-sized, high-resolution hologram of Io Murasaki resolves. She is a woman with sharp, intelligent features, dressed in a modern, formal Atrisian kimono of deep blue. She offers a small, formal bow of greeting before speaking with a calm, clear voice.

Io Murasaki: "Greetings, esteemed visitor, and welcome to the Atrisian Commonwealth. Our world is one of deep history and vibrant culture, which extends far beyond the moon festivals and tea ceremonies often depicted in galactic media. To help you better understand and, we hope, appreciate our way of life, we have prepared this guide to our official celebrations. We advise all visitors to be mindful of these dates, as planetary services and business operations may be limited."

A small, elegant menu appears holographically beside her, listing the holidays. As she speaks each name, it highlights.

Chūnjié - Atrisian New Year:
The largest celebration of the year, a week-long festival marking a new beginning. Cities are adorned with brilliant lights and red lanterns. Elaborate family gatherings, public feasts, and magnificent parades featuring dragon dances are common. Many amusement rides and temporary game stalls are erected in public squares.

Duānwǔ jié - Emperor/Empress Day:
A day of historical reflection, celebrating the sovereigns of Atrisia's long history. Grand statues are unveiled, and historical plays are performed in amphitheaters across the world, depicting the exploits both glorious and infamous of past rulers to provide a balanced view of our history.

Qīngmíng jié - Spring Festival:
Celebrating the thaw of winter and the first blossoms of spring. This holiday is marked by vigorous sporting events in the great arenas, including martial arts tournaments. It is also the traditional beginning of the matchmaking season, where families meet to arrange unions.

Zhōngqiū jié - Star Festival:
A spiritual celebration honoring the gods and ancestors of Atrisia. Temples are bustling, and the night skies are lit with lanterns. The public enjoys moon cakes, playful games, and dramatic plays depicting foundational myths and historical events.

Seollal - Unification Day:
A patriotic holiday commemorating the day the Jade Empress united Atrisia's warring kingdoms under a single banner. Military parades and reenactments of the signing of the Unification Accords are common sights.

Bucheonnim Osinnal - Summer Celebration:
Marking the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The highlight is the Keisei's grand debut of new artistic talent musicians, dancers, and poets who are then presented to the noble houses of Atrisia for patronage.

Gidoktansinil - Tasting Celebration:
Her Majesty the Empress's personal gift to the people. On this day, ceremonial casks of fine wines and spirits, aged for years in imperial cellars, are opened and distributed in public squares for all to sample. It is also the traditional day for the formal adoption of new Sansin into the Imperial service.

Kanayama-jinja - National Refugee Day:
A day dedicated to Atrisia's galactic conscience. We open our doors and our hearts, reflecting on our duty to those who have lost their homes. It is a day of charity and official ceremonies to process and welcome new citizens who have been granted legal asylum.

Chuseok - Fall Harvest Festival:
A massive, planet-wide celebration of the annual harvest. The capital becomes a sprawling market where the planet's best crops, from across every continent, are traded, displayed, and judged. It is a festival of abundance and gratitude.

Seijin no Hi - Remembrance Day:
A solemn day of mourning and respect for those lost to the Gulag Plague and the many wars that have scarred our history. The populace dresses in pure white kimonos and veils, creating a silent, moving sea of white in the streets to honor the departed.

Shunbun no Hi - Onyx Night:
A celebration of one of Atrisia's most formidable and dangerous historical Empresses. It is a playful, if slightly macabre, holiday where children and adults alike don costumes, often of monsters or historical figures, and roam the streets collecting candy.

Sángāng Jié - Victory Day : A somber but resolute celebration marking the most recent pivotal battle for Atrisian sovereignty.

Bunka no Hi - Atrisian Life Day/Winter Celebration:
A quiet, family-oriented holiday adapted from the galactic Life Day. Families gather in their homes to exchange gifts, share meals, and enjoy the winter snowscapes. It is a time for personal reflection and familial bonds.

The menu of holidays fades. Io Murasaki bows again, a little deeper this time.

Io Murasaki: "We thank you for taking the time to learn of our traditions. By respecting our celebrations, you honor our world and our people. May your stay on Atrisia be enlightening. The Atrisian Commonwealth welcomes you."
