SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Weapon comes with a series of adaptation kits to ensure the pistol can be chambered for any kind of widespread ammunition type available. This includes Blaster Charge Packs, Ion Charge Packs, Verpine Shatter Rounds, Cased Telescopic Ammunition, or even Class-D Disruptor Charge Packs. This modification process is achieved through simply swapping the Bolt Carrier Group, and for different Blaster, Disrupter, or Ion Tech various barrels to suit said ammunition. This is achieved with relative ease on any model as there are no tools required to do so, simply a short process that takes about five minutes.
  • Blaster Pistol utilizes most standard blaster packs, and if no standard issue packs are available, an adapter system is available to allow for specialized packs to charge standard packs. This allows this pistol to utilize a variety of different blaster weapons ammunition packs, from blaster rifles, holdout blasters, heavy blaster pistols, and other man portable blaster weapons.
  • Class-D Disruptor offers clientele with access and a wish for heavier hitting Disruptor rounds to be used with this specific pistol. These allow for the standard perks of disruptors to be passed along to this pistol when in this mode of operation, from extreme hitting power, disintegration of most materials, and a relatively comparable magazine size to most blaster weapons. For those with extreme needs and wanting to do the most amount of damage without sacrificing too much in the ammunition capacity department.
  • Verpine Shatter Rounds are the high tech ballistic component to the weapon, offering a variety of both custom made ammunition direct from Freebirds Industries or standardized ammunition from most other manufacturers. These rounds are extremely accurate and able to deliver their payloads at range with speeds that make aiming at range a breeze. Round types offered by Freebirds Industries include but are not limited to, Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot Rounds (punches holes through even vehicle grade armor at close ranges), White Phosphorous Incendiary Rounds (to set things on fire), Armor Piercing High Explosive (Less overall penetration than APFSDS but with a small explosive in the round), Tazer Rounds (Non-Lethal based on direct electrical discharge), Ionite-A Discarding Sabot Rounds (think Ion shots on spice), and your standard High Explosive Rounds (make things go boom on contact). These rounds offer a wide variety of uses, adaptability and unlike your standard blaster can actually reach out and accurately touch something at range without having to wait the amount of time it takes to get a pizza delivered to you after ordering from Space Dominos.
  • 14mm x 40mm Cased Telescopic Ammunition is a more low tech variety on the ballistics use for this weapon, utilizing bullets instead of Verpine Darts. This has the drawback that there is much less variety in rounds, mainly because there are much less producers of actual high quality slug thrower weapons in the galaxy. However, this operating mode should not be something to gawk at as while it presents the smallest amount of shots out of the various modes, it is the most reliable while delivering similar performance to Verpine Shatter Rounds. This is due to the presence of two new technologies developed at Freebirds Industries for these weapons, being Cased Telescopic Ammunition, and Electrothermal Chemical Propellant. The new style of rounds, alongside the propellant allow for these rounds to either match the same velocity, or punching power of the Verpine Shatter counterparts with the bullets in the weapon. This is something that's made even better due to the fact that it's total analog design means that it will work anytime, anywhere regardless of the environmental conditions it's in or even how well you take care of this weapon. That means you could literally soak this pistol in water, fill all of its nooks and crannies with sand, bury it in mud, leave it sit for a few weeks, dig it up, and then load a fresh magazine after working the action once and it will fire or your money back. On top of this reliability, specific rounds for this include Armor Piercing, Armor Piercing Incendiary, Rubber (non-lethal), Ionite-A, or standard ball.
  • Ion configuration is exactly as it sounds. You load this thing up with Ion charges, and suddenly you got a anti-tech blaster that sits there and absolutely laughs at anything even remotely electronic. Shields, Droids, your Mother in Law's annoying talking radio that won't shut up about the so called injustices of today's society (seriously Karen, nobody cares)? It shwacks it all with repeated Ion shots to absolutely not-murder that tech because you can't murder what isn't alive.
STRENGTHS
  • Adaptability: This thing can be swapped out for various ammunition types and all sorts of operating scenarios. Want non-lethal ballistics? Covered. Want heavy blaster fire for days? Yep. Want a droid destroyed? No problem. Want to punch holes through people behind walls? I got you fam. This pistol can be configured to do just about whatever it operator wants. Meaning the only real limitation to the weapon, is how creative the end user is.
  • Reliable: Each of these modes of operation is extremely reliable in and of their own right. The build quality, weight, and design of this weapon ensures that so long as you have more than two braincells to rub together, this pistol will work. That means the blaster, Ion, Disruptor, Verpine shatter pistol or even slug thrower pistol you can absolutely punish and this thing will work regardless. Now that being said, this doesn't mean that the high tech stuff on this pistol will suddenly work anywhere, but you can plan for wherever you're going and accordingly make adjustments. And when your pistol allows you that option, there's nothing like it.
  • Hits like a freight train: Even the heavy blaster pistol version of this which focuses more on its convenient ammunition capacity over all out destruction (because seriously that's how blasters work read a book), hits harder than just about every other pistol on the market. And the blaster mode which is already at the limits of current blaster technology, doesn't hit near as hard as the kinetics or disruptor rounds. So when something must absolutely be put on its butt the first time with every shot, grab your Atin. You'll be glad you did.
  • Intuitive design: This pistol was made specifically so that the average joe could reconfigure it to whatever mode of operation he needed. And to do so without tools. You could say that we tested it on a room full of apes to make sure that even they could figure out how to do so (we really didn't mainly because of animal safety laws and all that jazz). So it doesn't really take a genius to do maintenance, or otherwise do what you need to for this pistol to get it to whatever mode you want to get it to work.
WEAKNESSES
  • All but slug throwers rely on tech: This is pretty self explanatory. If you're somewhere that had a pervasive Ion/EMP activity, some kind of tech nullification effects, or other inherent environmental hazards that take most tech and turn it into junk you're not going to be able to use these modes magically.
  • Not for the faint of heart: This pistol also has a bit of kick to it, and it's very very loud. So unless you're using the Ion mode of operation don't try to impress your girl by one handing it unless you are very strong and have not skipped out on going to your friendly neighborhood gym. Because if you don't manhandle this pistol it will manhandle you.
  • Blasters, Ion, and Disruptors require non-inhibitive atmosphere: These methods of firing also have the drawback of their ammunition, that being if the atmosphere is not conducive to their bolts, the rounds will be useless. Case in point are specific grenades that carry blaster nullifying smoke that is naturally present on some planets, which causes blaster, Ion, and disruptor rounds to fizzle and then die out mere meters (if that) in front of the barrel. This blaster doesn't magically fix that, as to do that would be to completely redesign current blaster technology and blaster shot projection. This is the same for Ion and Disruptor technology, as they are still based on the inherent designs of blaster technology.
  • Don't mix ammo: This should also be pretty self explanatory. Keyword is should however as during testing we've found that people have accidentally forgotten what type of ammunition a specific magazine was using since all of the magazines are the exact same size and shape. As you can imagine this has a wide range of effects, from the weapon firing weird or less than effective shots (such as confusing blaster and ion packs), the weapon going click (mixing energy for your kinetic rounds), or exploding like a hand grenade (putting disruptor packs into either blaster or ion packs). And as for the last one, it wasn't a charge up explosion as the moment the poor test subject pulled the trigger his body disintegrated with the pistol like he was hit with a Class-D Disintegration grenade. So don't be an idiot. Mix ammunition at your own risk.
DESCRIPTION
As one of the first products specifically designed for exportation and mass production, the HP-001 Atin is a new take on an old and very pervasive design. This pistol is designed to fit a variety of roles, from a simple service pistol for soldiers in the field, to an adaptable weapon for bounty hunters and protection details. This pistol is designed to be able to accept a wide variety of ammunition types that are widely available, meaning that so long as you didn't lose your different kits for each mode of operation, you should be able to get or at least use ammunition from just about anywhere. This is a deliberate design choice for Freebirds Industries as they noted that one of the things that most consumers look at when purchasing weapons is ammunition costs, and other inconveniences caused by such ammunition. This is to make these pistols more marketable across the galaxy as unlike most weapons which require you to buy specific blaster, ion, disruptor, or kinetic ammunition packs, the only ammunition that you have to source from Freebirds Industries is slug thrower bullets. Which even then is only because the standard for slug throwers across the galaxy is extremely low when not referring to products from Freebirds Industries. To put it bluntly this pistol is designed to adapt to whatever situation it is put in, and not only survive, but thrive and excel so that its operators might as well.

Due to a review noting that the factory template for said weapons can be considered to give an advantage over standardized weapons I have started an internal review and identified subs that match the criteria for Archival until they are redone to meet Factory Standards.
