SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Sonic Dissipator: The set of armor is equipped with a set of sonic dissipators that resemble earbuds and are placed within the coat.
Strengths:
  • Lightsaber/Blaster Resistance: The ultrachrome weave used in the construction of this clothing/armor retains some of its properties offering increased protection against lightsabers and other plasma-based technology.
  • Slugthrower resistance: While base ultrachrome is known to deflect slugthrower rounds this set of weave is capable of ensuring the rounds don't penetrate.
  • Flexible: Having been crafted into a weave this set of clothing/armor allows Aten to retain his flexibility.
Weaknesses:
  • Electricity: Anyone aware of the advantages and disadvantages of Ultrachrome could warn you of how conductive the armor is, it is best the user not get hit by lightning as it would amplify the effects of the lightning.
  • Heat: Along with lightning another very dangerous element is heat as due to Ultrachromes conductive nature it is possible that with enough heat Aten could be cooked alive wearing this armor/clothing.
  • Sonic damage: While the sonic dampeners may ensure Aten isn't deafened from sonic weaponry the weave offers no resistance against the other effects of it making the weapons extremely efficient when used against Aten.
  • Acidic: While being able to resist metal eating fungi that does not mean when in a weave for that it is able to withstand the effects of acidic or chemical weapons.
  • Kinetic damage: While capable of stopping bladed weapons and even slugthrower rounds from penetrating the weave does nothing to halt the kinetic force behind the weapon meaning it will be transferred through possibly breaking/shattering bones.
DESCRIPTION

Having been in a variety of battles against Bounty hunters, and Sith, Aten has finally learned the importance of armor and why so many others in the galaxy had turned to its use. Though the Morellian still required something incredibly light so he could perform the acrobatics and velocities necessary for the martial arts he practiced. So instead he set to work finding materials that could possibly be used in protecting him against the most important threats, Lightsabers, and slugthrower rounds. What he found was Ultrachrome, not a light material but when compressed and formed into a mesh and formed into a weave it was more than suitable for the Jedi’s needs.

It all starts with the gold coat, his favorite color to wear, while ostentatious in some ways or downright tacky in others Aten prefers the color. As such the weave was utilized in the construction, he’d lost many a jacket to Sith and was getting sick of having to constantly purchase more. The jacket is the first line of defense for attacks aimed at the Morellian’s upper body the weave able to withstand the blows of a saber for a limited amount of time. This could range anywhere from three to four hits in the spot for a saber to completely penetrate that portion of the weave. Bladed weaponry and slugthrower rounds are unable to penetrate the weave but of course, that doesn’t mean the kinetic force behind them won’t transfer through. Sure, Aten could get shot, doesn’t mean his bones or flesh beneath will take the hit all too well.

The pants were the next vital part, Aten needed to be able to retain his flexibility when in combat as such he utilized the weave in it as well allowing the Jedi to still perform his usual acrobatic feats the lightweight weave making it all the easier. They even extend down to little footies to cover his feet while they're within the leather boots. The shirts he wears beneath the jackets are of course made from the same set of weave though thinner and more easily penetrated by sabers taking only one or two blows to penetrate. The numerous downsides of this material made Aten turn away from it, but in the end what other choices did he truly have that would be just as effective? He certainly wasn’t going to any Mandalorian allied planet with a bounty on his head. That would be like signing a death warrant.

The weave is highly susceptible to heat and electricity and considering the foes he’s faced Aten is still on the fence about the use of this particular set of armor. The use of lightning-based weaponry or even a Sith capable of using lightning could come around and bring Aten nothing but trouble as the conductive nature of ultrachrome will do nothing but amplify the lightnings effectiveness. Not only that but the heat from flamethrowers, or even from a powerful enough force lightning user could potentially cook the Morellian alive. If anything the biggest benefit of the armor is that its both fashionable and effective enough to offer Aten protection from certain forms of attack.
