STRENGTHS
  • Medium-range Capability - With a noticeably better reach and point-accuracy than most compact sidearms, the AT-S7 is effective at distances where ordinary blaster pistols begin to scatter or lose stopping power.
  • Ion Toggle Module - These weapons were designed with the ability to switch to a short-ranged ion burst to overload droid systems or short-circuit shield emitters, working best at close range and against unshielded or underpowered systems; however, at the cost of draining the power cell faster.
  • Modular - Designed with a quick-swap power cell, accessory rail, and option ion-toggle module, these weapons are highly adaptable for either civilian or military roles.
  • Durability - Constructed with conservative Ferrixian engineering choices and robust materials mean that the AT-S7 tolerates field abuse and requires only routine maintenance to remain operable.
  • Concealable-ish - Despite its extended range capability, the design and size of this Blaster Pistol is still small enough that it can easily fit inside a rig or holster that can be concealed with limited issues beneath the appropriate article of clothing.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Consumption - The AT-S7 is notorious for consuming copious amounts of power cells. Between its various firing modes and its Ion Toggle Module, the weapon drains cells faster than a standard blaster pistol, requiring users to either carry extra power cells or accept fewer sustained volleys.
  • Heat Buildup - Despite the addition of a Cooling Module and Cooling Coils, sustained automatic fire causes rapid heat accumulation and focal distortion as the AT-S7 is optimized for controlled bursts, not full-auto suppression.
  • Complexity & Repairability - Though designed to be durable, these weapons still retain many fine moving parts and advanced components. Field repairs require a competent weaponsmith and replacement parts that may prove expensive or hard to find in certain locations like the Outer Rim.
  • Range Ceiling - While better than most pistols, the AT-S7 cannot match Blaster Carbines or Blaster Rifles at long ranges, and is outclassed when compared to marksmen or sniper rifles.
  • Electromagnetic Vulnerability - Due to the fine parts and advanced components, heavy EM pulses or sophisticated particle dampers can upset the focusing matrix in the Galven Systems more easily than older, simpler Blaster Pistols.
DESCRIPTION
The AT-S7 is Aether Technologies' signature entry into a competitive mid-tier blaster market. It is a weapon that is intended to bridge the gap between compact sidearms and full-size pistols without straying into Blaster Carbine territory. Sleek, angular, and unmistakably modern, the AT-S7 is immediately recognizable by the faint blue glow along its barrel and power pack, and the subtle hum of its galven barrel when the trigger is half-pulled. Where many sidearms are designed primarily for close-quarters defense, the AT-S7 was engineered around the concept of medium-range accuracy - a range bracket often underserved by typical pistols within the Galaxy. Aether Technologies approached this by refining every part of the AT-S7's internals, making it more efficient, more stable, and more precise than typical blasters of its size.

With a frame built from Duralumin wrapped in a Dallorian Alloy shell, the pistol has a rugged durability that belies its relatively modest mass. Grip panels are textured and slightly recessed, accommodating both gloved military use and bare-handed civilian operation. The trigger guard is oversized, a deliberate choice, as the weapon was designed with Starfighter Pilots' gloves in mind. Along the top edge runs a low-profile iron sight, while the underside houses a universal accessory rail that, while short, is compatible with most civilian and military attachments. Aether Technologies fitted the AT-S7 with a cooling module and cooling coils that dissipate heat efficiently, limiting bolt distortion and preventing premature overheating. However, sustained fire can cause rapid heat accumulation and focal distortion - the cooling system allows meaningful bursts without immediate accuracy loss. The AT-S7 was designed with a quick-swap power cell that can be ejected and replaced with a single thumb movement - an advantage appreciated by pilots, bounty hunters, and anyone who expects to drain a cell sooner rather than later.

These weapons were also designed with an Ion Toggle Module, allowing the weapon to fire a short-range ion burst to overload droid systems or short-circuit shield emitters; however, this comes at the cost of rapidly draining the energy cell, faster. With its introduction, the AT-S7 has begun to establish itself as a preferred sidearm among professionals who value accuracy and reliability over raw stopping power. Initial contracts would see these weapons in the hands of Outer Rim law enforcement, independent security contractors, and pilots who need a compact weapon that can still deliver precision under pressure. Its presence in the galactic arms market is modest - but growing - thanks to its reputation for engineering quality and Aether Technologies' consistent support network for replacement components and upgrades.
