Astromech droids?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do people still use astromech droids like R2's and so on in this time era? I was planning on getting Mark one if so, but I felt it appropriate to ask if that was still a thing at this point.

I actually use them quite often. It's not a dumb question either cliche to say but the question not asked is the dumb one? Lol.

Anyways, R9 series mostly...yeah old stuff but really no true advancements in the field of droids in my opinion.

Just pick one and have fun with it.

No problem, just was thinking about getting Mark a droid and R series seem to be one of the more versatile styles, both in function and look.
