Ask: Factory Talk Thread

Just need a refresher, a Hero Unit is specifically for Major Factions, yes? I can make myself a personal Hero Unit? What makes a Hero Unit anyway? I've seen a lot of ships made under that title but not much else? I'm very curious in this subject, and as far as I can tell hasn't been concretely defined.

I may be completely wrong, but I thought a Hero Unit was just a modified version of something that already exists. Like say, a DL-44 Blaster Pistol. There are normal DL-44's, and then there's Han Solo's heavily modified DL-44. Han Solo's DL-44 would be a Hero Unit, where as the other DL-44's wouldn't be.

A hero unit is exactly what it sounds like. If you're playing a game and you have units and you get Special Star Destroyer, or Special Unique Ship, or an infantry unit or a tank unit or an elite group of droids...anything above the norm it is a hero unit. Otherwise what you can and can't make as a hero unit follow all the same for rules for the rest of the factory.

Does that mean though, that I could possibly make a Hero Unit for myself? It isn't Faction limited?

Hero units are not, strictly speaking, limited to Major factions. However, standard limitations still exist. So a Minor faction couldn't belt out a Hero Star Destroyer, but nothing says a person can't have a Hero freighter they fly around in.
