++Royal Blood: While it is true that the Chandra Family hold no titles of royalty or nobility, Ashanti's mother presided over the whole of the Galactic Alliance for what is widely considered to be one of the most prosperous periods of time for the galactic superpower. During that time Ashanti and her sister Ishana were frequently in the public eye as the First Family of the Alliance. This has all given Ashanti a great deal of political and social capital, something she will try to wield expertly as she wades into galactic politics.
++Diplomat Extraordinaire: Ashanti began her work for the Alliance as an envoy to foreign powers and independent systems. While she preferred to avoid high-profile work during her mother's chancellorship, she developed a keen sense for diplomacy in her travels around the galaxy. Her exploits infrequently moved mountains, but she negotiated her fair share of tribal treaties on distant worlds, ceasefires on war torn worlds, and brought modern agriculture to less developed peoples of the galaxy. As a result of her many travels she is also fluent in many languages and familiar with many other cultures allowing her to effortlessly navigate otherwise awkward encounters with other species.
--Big Shoes To Fill: Being the daughter of the former Chancellor has given Ashanti a leg up in life, opening doors that would otherwise have been closed to her. Unfortunately, those doors open because of the high expectations that everyone has for the eldest daughter of the foul-mouthed matriarch who "united the core" and helped destroy the Sith Empire. Ashanti is keenly aware that people are watching her closely in anticipation of her failure - or, with less enthusiasm, her triumph. This has the tendency to cause the young Senator to make rash decisions or trip up trying to live up to her mother's reputation without much thought to what Adhira would actually do.
--Headstrong: As much as Ashanti strives not to fall short of expectations, she is also eager to forge her own path in the galaxy unrestrained by the status quo. She tends to believe that her thoughts and opinions on the matters of the world are the correct ones and is not easily swayed to change her beliefs. She rarely entertains opinions that directly contradict hers and has frequently found this to be an obstacle in her chosen career path. When mutual agreement is not possible, she has found ways to quell opposition through less conventional means.

BIOGRAPHY:
Ashanti was born on the planet Balmorra, eldest of three children to Adhira and Aarav Chandra. Her father was a well known ship builder and engineer on Balmorra and her mother was, at the time, a prominent diplomat for the Republic. She grew up with a private tutor and would later attend high schools of education on Naboo and Coruscant. Of the three Chandra children, Ashanti was the only one to follow in her mother's footsteps as a diplomat, joining the diplomatic corp as her mother rose through the ranks of the Ministry of State, finally becoming a lead envoy when her mother joined the Senate. She would remain in this position for many years and would meet her husband during the course of her work. During this time, her brother Rohit followed in their father's footsteps as an engineer and Ishana joined the intelligence services.
Together, Ashanti and Charanpal would have 3 children: Pavati, Kajri, and Charon. Soon after the birth of their first child, the couple relocated to the capitol planet of Coruscant where her husband took up a teaching job at the Galactic University and Ashanti would continue her service to the Alliance.
Ashanti considered her service in the Alliance Diplomatic Corps well after the tragedy on Coruscant that took her father's life and placed her mother in a coma. As political strife took hold of the Galactic Alliance Senate during Chancellor Tithe's reign, his interparty coalition weakening, Mirana Praji, the Vice Chancellor and Senator of Coruscant resigned to pursue life in the private sector. The Administrator of the Coruscant asked that Ashanti Chandra step in to provide provisional service as Senator until a new election could be organized.
