Prow-Ram: These vessels are the continuation of the line first begun by The Nessius; and as such are equipped with a massive Prow-Ram. This structure at the front of the vessel is designed for the specific use of ramming and tearing through enemy vessels - forcing the remnants of those vessels to the side and clearly the path for the vessel to continue forward. This tactic works best when used in a coordinate frontal assault via a line of Ascensoriel Star Destroyers.
Multiple Layers of Defense: Due to its size, the vessel is designed with multiple layers of defense. These defenses include multiple shield generators and reinforced armor to aid in the defense of the vessel. It's capability to field starfighters further adds to its defensive capabilities to keep smaller vessels away so it can focus on heavier ships in the enemy fleet.
Prow Heavy Turbolaser Cannons: A set of Heavy Turbolaser Cannons is mounted on the prow - as often seen in the former CIS Frigates during the Clone Wars - with these weapons meant to often soften up an enemy vessel before the opposing vessel is struck by the prow-ram.
Behemoths: Much like its predecessor vessel - The Nessius - the Ascensoriel class is a lumbering vessel that is further slowed by its heavy Prow-Ram. Its lack of maneuverability or speed also adds to the sheer fact that these vessels; coupled with the Nessius, are more suited to be pure battering rams due to their capabilities.
Easily Swarmed: These vessels are highly susceptible to mass swarms of enemy Starfighters and Bombers; due in part from lacking any true form of Anti-Starfighter weaponry. While it is capable of unleashing its own squadrons, the numbers are such that it relies more heavily on additional support vessels or squadrons from Dedicated Carriers.
Slow Speed: Another short coming is via the vessel's hyperdrive generators which are - when compared to the hyperdrives of other vessels of its class - are rather slow. This means that it is often not always capable of joining a battle or required to jump to a position ahead of most of its escort fleet which could potentially trap it without reinforcements in the middle of an engagement.
The Nessius serves the Hellknights as their primary Command Vessel when it comes to Fleet engagements. While it is more than capable serving this role, its true strength lay in its heavy Prow-Ram and means to crash through enemy fleets. Seeing this, the Hellknights have developed a smaller version to serve as a front line Star Destroyer and follow the Nessius into the heart of the enemy fleet.
The Ascensoriel class Star Destroyer is in effect a smaller version of the Nessius (an Asmodean class Star Destroyer); which means that they inherited both the strengths and weaknesses of their larger counterpart. However; they excel when sent into a situation en mass when available, providing a line of vessels that can tear through enemy fleet formations and strike from with. Just like the Nessius though, the Ascensoriel class can also be easily over taken if swarmed with smaller vessels or otherwise caught without its escort vessels - which is likely due in part to its slower hyperdrive.
However; the strengths - as well as the possible fear and intimidation this vessel could create - far exceeded the weaknesses of this vessel.
