Name: Asaiyo.

Region: Unknown, close to the Outer Rim.
System: Ithaca.
Suns: One, named Bellerophon. Size and qualities similar to those of Earth's sun.
Orbital Position: Habitable zone.
Moons: None.
System Features: Two other unnamed planets. One is an uninhabited planet closer to the sun with no atmosphere, a cratered rock with low desirable materials. The other is a gas planet further away. Very large for a gas giant, it has consumed most of the asteroids and other debris that would have been in the system.
Coordinates: F-18
Rotational Period: 9 hours.
Orbital Period: 191 days.

Class: Terrestrial.
Diameter: 9,483 km.
Atmosphere: I.
Climate: Single-biome. Temperate. The planet's skies are primarily covered in clouds, and it is always windy in all areas. The climate is primarily dry. However, there is always an especially thick clump of clouds called the Surge which constantly storms, unleashing harsher winds and heavy rainfall.
Gravity: 0.88 Standard.
Primary Terrain: The planet is entirely covered by grassland, consisting primarily of plants similar to cotton, grain and other hardy crops. The landscape is hilly in places but has no mountains, as the tectonic plates have always been virtually motionless, except at the planet's beginnings.

Native Species: Crops similar to cotton and grain. Insect and rodent variants also exist.
Immigrated Species: Humans.
Primary Languages: Galactic Standard Basic.
Government: Anarcho-Capitalism? There is no government - the planet is maintained by a few farms connected by family ties.
Population: ~900.
Demonym: Asaiyans.
Major Imports: Stone, wood, metals, meat, rope and other basic things they would need to sustain themselves that wouldn't be found from the planet. Also credits, small spaceships for transportation and black market lightsabers.
Major Exports: Grain, cotton, bread, or mercenary service from any lightsaber wielders on the planet.
Affiliation: The Alagos Family.

Major Locations:
  • There are about 60 farms at any given time on Alagos, each with about 15 people operating them. They have extremely large tracts of land, not all of which have been claimed by farms yet. However, any outsiders attempting to claim resources without permission will be treated as hostiles.
  • The Gale Hill, one of the larger hills on the planet which cannot be claimed by any farm. The wind blows harder the higher one is on the planet, and declarations of completing one's apprentice training are declared on the hill.
  • The Surge: Not exactly a location, but a thicker group of clouds which constantly storm, bringing heavy winds and rainfall for the crops.
Culture:

Family history given here due to cultural relevance.

Before reaching Asaiyo, the Alagos family lived on another planet somewhere in the galaxy. Where exactly has been lost to time. The earliest remembered member of the Alagos family was Laertes, a powerful force-wielder whose most prized possession was his lightsaber Odyssey. He died in combat against an unknown force, protecting his family. His last words have forever echoed through the family's culture:

"Kill me, you devil! The winds of glory sustain us, and as long as my blade is with me, they will never die!"

His opponents were able to take the lightsaber. A small tomb was built for Laertes and the family later recovered his lightsaber, but were forced to flee the planet before they could return it to Laertes's grave. The Alagos family found Asaiyo, a small planet uninhabited by sentient life, and settled as a farming community which practiced the force in the case that they were attacked. As time passed, they began to send off lightsaber-wielders as mercenaries in other battles, hoping they'd return with lots of credits and someone to mate with. (Being one entire family on one planet can have issues if you don't bring in outside genes once in awhile.)

The lifestyle is often one of simple farming, but there is far more to it than that. The Alagos family have been force practitioners since the days of Laertes, but do not associate with the Jedi nor the Sith. Laertes believed the Sith were too self-consumed and the Jedi tried too hard to deny the human condition. This staunch belief in being self-taught, or being taught by a master who didn't try to push his own ideology, only technique, became central to the Asaiyan to the force-practicing culture. (However, particularly powerful members of the family can learn certain Jedi-exclusive abilities as though they were Jedi, such as Force Heal.) Most were taught by elder force-wielders at a young age, officially initiated at the Gale Hill, and then allowed by themselves to perfect their own style and technique. Most wielders from Asaiyo have a windlike feeling to their force abilities: They move objects in gusts of wind and heal wounds with a soothing breeze.

Not all of Laertes's practices passed through the bloodline. Few members of the Alagos bloodline have created their own lightsabers, but have instead acquired them from the black market.

While it was mentioned in Laertes's last words, the significance of the wind to the Asaiyans comes from the wind that constantly blows on their planet. They view the wind as almost a magical power, like a natural form of the Force in function. Early culture believed that there was a god living in the Surge, though this is now a myth in their culture. The imagery of having clothes which blow in the wind are seen as the ultimate symbol of heroism, and Laertes is always depicted with a blowing cape.

The Asaiyan culture is one of honor, and most members of the family hold it very highly, unwilling to do anything they would consider unfair or unjust. This includes lying, drinking and using dirty tactics in combat or being over-aggressive in it. The original farm still possesses Odyssey, and they view the ultimate dishonor as losing this weapon.

History:

The planet itself doesn't have much history outside of that of the Alagos Family's. Before them, the panet was entirely uninhabited by sentient life, simply to insects, small animals and lots of plants.

Technology:

Asaiyo is one of the less technologically-advanced planets in the galaxy which still interacts with the other inhabited planets. Lightsabers are the most impressive form of technology they have. Apart from this, most of their technology are things one would find on mid-1900s farms. Their houses are primarily made of stone, wood and insulators, and most of the farming tools are simple things like sickles, or occasionally lightsabers for those that use them. They could invest in much better farming technology, but to them, part of honor is the ability to be self-reliant. Thus, they don't use high-tech equipment for fear of relying on it.

Notable PCs: Eklan Alagos, a force-wielder obsessed with the tales of Laertes who takes Odyssey and leaves Asaiyo on a journey to find Laertes's tomb and return his weapon to him.

Intent: I've created this planet as a simple home for Eklan and his family, though other PCs could end up inhabiting it if somehow connected to the family. It's meant to be a simple place for Eklan to start off in in certain RPs, which he usually won't return to afterwards. (There may be exceptions.)

[member="Werah Unon"] My apologies, I tried to mold them into the general culture section. The planet was uninhabited by sentient life, so I just gave the history of the family. Is this acceptable? I'll certainly add technology though.

Updated. History is more of the family's history than that of the actual planet, due to the planet not being inhabited by any sentient life beforehand. Once they did settle, they basically just built a few farms and carried on in a mostly-isolated way of life described in culture. Due to their history's significance to their culture, it's given before the description of said culture.
