Arrival (General Slign's Arrival)

"Are you ready sir?"

"Give me a second Lieutenant, the karking leg's acting up again."

"Sir we've offered to get a newer model---"

"No dammit. How many times to I have to repeat myself, no new models, this one has some tricks up it's sleeve, besides... It's got. Sentimental value."

"Understood sir."

"Ready."

The large blast doors connecting the Republic's Fleet Flagship and General Slign's Frigate, Reclamation, air locks opened with a loud clank and hiss. General Jak Slign, the newly appointed General of the Armies of the Republic limped forward in his dress uniform with a grin sprawled across his face. He was flanked on both sides by Republic Intelligence Agents, who's jet black armor and SR-26s added an intimidating air to the smiling General. The man had started a slave in mines before being rescued by the Republic Army, after which he attended Coruscant University and earned a commission in the Republic Army.

The man had seen many battles flying for the Army Air Corp as a gunship pilot and commander before being shot down and losing his leg. After that he'd transferred to Intelligence on request of the Supreme Commander and worked on grand strategies for both Republic expansion and defense. Now here he stood, everyone saluting as he hobbled past. The former slave could hardly believe how far he'd come when he had the time to muse about it.

The clean halls of the Star Defender were in stark contrast to the recent images of carnage he'd seen on classified holo vids that'd been passed his way since the droids had risen up. Jak sighed as he though about it. So much lost in such a short amount of time. So many dead and unaccounted for.

The General was headed for the Assembly Hall, where he was supposed to address members of the Military and Jedi on the state of the Galaxy. Jak's predictions were grim but he wouldn't allow it to show in the speech. Hope. Something they all needed.

Another set of blast doors opened and the General stood the full of his six feet and walked out onto the well lighted stage, approaching the podium with an air of determination.
