SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • High Grade Power Armor - Super Tough, Super Strong
  • Excellent Coordination and Targeting
  • Integrated Stabilization Mask - Helps against mental force powers.
  • Vaccum Assault - Designed to move across vacuum, latch onto a ship, break inside, and commandeer/disable/destroy it. It does this very, very well.
WEAKNESSES
  • Comparatively Exposed Joints - Weaker protection to allow for proper mobility.
  • Weight - The armor suit is extremely heavy. In the event the suit is disabled or the strength augmentation otherwise made to fail, it is rendered immobile if under gravity.
  • No Inherent Disruptor Resistance - Besides the Shield Generator, the suit is still made of matter, and therefore vulnerable to distributors.
  • Bulky - ACEVAS presents a significantly larger than normal target. An operator will find low cover, the sort that offers a life and death chance to the common infantryman, essentially useless.
  • Not a Starfighter - Though fully capable of maneuvering and movement in space, the ACEVAS is not designed for combat with proper spacecraft, and is particularly vulnerable to starfighters while in vacuum.

DESCRIPTION
Originally produced in secret by a conglomeration of small planetary arms contractors across the Outer Rim, ACEVAS has its roots in a prototype boarding and combat armor originally developed by the Mara-Perlemian Trade Council, a small inter-planetary government that tried to leverage its wealth to stay independent against the then rising power of the Sith Empire. When Centares was conquered by the Sith many of the leaders fled to the fringes of space, bringing documents, technology, and blueprints with them.
Eventually some of those fell into the welcoming arms of a former Galactic Alliance Brigadier General, who led a resistance faction in the region formerly controlled by the First Order. A staunch Republican, General B’Haran saw himself as first and foremost an enemy of tyranny, and he resolved to create the capability to strike where the foe thought themself safe. ACEVAS is part of that philosophy. Inspired in no small part by the venerable Spacetrooper Power Armor of the Galactic Empire, used so effectively by the legendary Grand Admiral Thrawn, ACEVAS is designed to give small numbers of elite troops the ability to strike at, cripple, destroy, and/or capture starships. At its core, it is designed to deliver armed combatants across empty space and enable them to force a boarding action. It is expensive, heavy, and difficult to master, but it is also alarmingly effective.
After fighting on his own for several years, General B’Haran made his way to the new Galactic Alliance, bringing his skills, troops, and blueprints with him. The Alliance took the plans for ACEVAS and refined them, creating the system that exists today. Like Zero-G Assault Stormtrooper Armor, ACEVAS is a fully sealed and operable one-man spacecraft, capable of the full range of motion in space, albeit with limited acceleration. The power core and repulsor system are mounted in the backpack, and generate significantly more power than required for movement of the armor suit, potentially allowing for heavy weapons to be carried and plugged into the system.
Onboard weapons are fairly limited, and mostly configured as tools to aid in the mission ACEVAS is designed for. A molecular torch plasma cutter is mounted in each gauntlet, with incredible cutting power but minimal range and requiring large power draw even from the nuclear reactor. The armor has an integral Individual Field Disruptor built in, to allow for an armored trooper to cut their way into a ship and engage the crew. Each gauntlet also includes a miniature repulsor generator in the style of a Repulse Hand, which grants both utility in movement and entering as well as considerable power in melee combat.
A pair of fittings on the backpack allow for mounting a rapid fire blaster cannon, or 6-micro proton-torpedo, or both, one over each shoulder. Finally the soldier can easily carry any standard handheld equipment, or even larger weapons thanks to the augmented strength. In combat a properly trained operator is a fearsome force, able to resist considerable damage, tear apart metal with their bare hands, and cut through sealed bulkheads with ease. A pair of dampner aerosol launchers are included, each with three uses, and the ability to fire forward (like a shield) or create a sort of ‘smokescreen’ of aerosol.
Defensively the ACEVAS is incredibly durable, with the augmented strength allowing for significantly heavier armor plating than normal for body armor. The backpack includes an integral deflector shield generator, while the EVA suit itself includes several layers of energy and kinetic resistant materials. Crushgaunts are built into the hands, which are resistant but not immune to lightsabers. An armorweave bodyglove forms the base level of the suit, and is fitted out with numerous electronic receptors to allow the operator to have a full range of motion with the powersuit. The spacesuit portion of the suit is largely made of lightweight Armorplast. This is followed on with several millimeters of Duraplast Armor on the primary strike zones (chest, abdomen, forearms, thighs and lower legs). The more lightly armored areas (typically around the joints) are reinforced with Duravlex, and the whole suit is coated with a layer of laser-reflective armor. A replaceable plate of ultratough Duranium is seated on the chest for additional protection on the center mass area.
The Helmet is made of solid Duraplast, with a glassteel visor that has automatic flash and flare protection. It also includes a full-spectrum Holographic HUD with all the various vision enhancements and modes, integral squad datalink. Every suit can pull up a tactical map which includes a Blue Force Tracker and can integrate data from local or networked sensors. Both gauntlets can also pull up a holographic tactical map, which includes the ability to issue and respond to orders, warnings, commands, etc. It also supports an integrated Stabilizer Mask to help protect against mental force powers. Targeting and Acquisition systems are likewise robust, with MFTAS and the advanced K-64 Targeting System as standard, and integrated with all built-in and handheld weapons. Finally, the suits are easily customizable for different species, along as they are in the ballpark of ‘human-sized.’
Obviously all this culminates in a particularly expensive piece of gear, and the ACEVAS is not widely produced or adopted by the GADF. But the pirate ships that vanish without a trace, or the Sith patrol ships found drifting with their interiors ruined, attest to the effectiveness of ACEVAS.
