Description: A lightly modified variant of the standard Republic Combat Armor, the sets of armor employed by the 102nd Task Force, the Scarlet Spectres, are marked with the company's personal symbol and colors. A compromise between the recon variant and standard armor, the 102nd's Combat Gear was made lighter than the regulars units at the cost of some of the durability and protection. It makes up for this with enhanced equipment in the helmet make up as well as wrist mounted cable launchers to better navigate the battlefield, a feature particularly useful for strike teams breaching buildings or snipers requiring a high vantage point. Much of the remaining items found commonly on the standard combat armor are also found on the 102nd's, including Ion Flares, a Baradium Detonator, and Combat De-Ionizers.

The armor follows the rest of the standard armor's design features, including being adequately blast resistant as well as equipped to resist hazardous environments. Capable of withstanding introduction to vacuum or chemical agents for a brief time, the armor is more than able to handle many climates and weather conditions as well, especially regions of cold specifically. While not meant to withstand direct cannonfire, the 102nd Armor follows the rest of the Military's design in dissipating blasterfire to a degree as well as having amply proven ability against slugthrowers. As such lighter stun beams are almost a non-threat to wearers of this armor, a well loved feature throughout the Republic's users.
