SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS

  • Can Take A Pounding: The core chassis is built upon a Molytex base, which allows for Extreme tolerance of Kinetic energy. The Chosen are NFU Infatry troops who engage their enemy hand to hand primarly, and require an armor capable of lasting as long as they do.
  • Stun Gun, No Fun: Bringing knives to gun fights is typically suicidal, but given the origins of The Chosen, completely understandable. Given that the guns have stun, the addition of a Phrik mesh into the Duraplast plating allows for incoming ION-type attacks to be dispersed outwardly, harmlessly. Usually.
  • Ballerina: While perhaps not flexible enough for the stage, the Molytex chassis allows for a great freedom of movement while still providing solid protection
WEAKNESSES

  • Open-Faced Meatloaf Sammich: The helmet is open-face and the visor can be shattered with a well placed shot
  • Go For The Ankle!: Having sacrificed the strength of whole body duraplast for the flexibility and lighter weight of Molytex chassis, there are quite a few areas of the body exposed to damage. Torso sides Armpit to Waistline, all joints, hands, neck and ankles
  • Stop Poking Me!: While the Molytex adds durability in regards to cuts and slices, it is woefully susceptible to being punctured. All body areas not covered under the Phrik Reinforced Duraplast plates are Highly Vulnerable to Puncture damage
  • Not So Wash & Wear: As the Phrik Reinforced Duraplast plates are layered into the Molytex chassis, replacement is a PITA. It requires the entire piece (Helmet/Torso/Lower Body/Boots) to be taken in for repairs, adjustments aand upgrades
DESCRIPTION

Maestus Chosen have served their mistress for many decades, beginning as a ragtag band of marauders who cobbled together armor from the best bits of scrap and pointy junk they could steal. As the years have progressed, Maestus Maestus has compiled a massive quantity of battle data and spent years analyzing it and then drafting armor designs. Occasionally a design would see the prototype stage only to disappoint in field testing. As a NFU front line combat group, their effectiveness ties hand in hand with their ability to endure against as much fo the damage the universe, or Maestus Maestus enemies, can throw at them. With the guiding concepts of versatility, durability and flexibility, the current armor design strikes a solid balance while also adhering to Maestus Maestus requirement of the armor being lighter in coverage than the full cover of heavy battle armor. Given they began as bare-chested bandits, and she disallowed them more than shoulder armor until only recent years, she will not allow them to grow soft and dependent upon having full body battle armor. Maestus learned early how well the threat of losing what small scraps you had could be used to motivate someone to put just a little more effort in, and The Chosen are well grateful for the increase in armor they've been graced with.
