Strengths:
  • Light Armor. Lightweight and versatile, this armor does not encumber the archer so to allow for maximum dexterity.
  • Strength Enhancing. The use of a power belt and inhibitor glove increases the archer's physical strength, reducing combat fatigue from repeated bow draws.
  • Protection Against Plasma-based Weapondry. Mandragora archers make use of plasma-based energy bows, exposing the inside of their bow arm and the fingers of their shooting hand to injury or harm from the resulting weapon discharge. The bracer and glove are constructed of blaster-resistant materials, providing a layer of protection between the archer and the energy bow.
Weaknesses:
  • Vulnerable to Sonic Weaponry.
  • Vulnerable to EMP/Ion Discharge. The armor eschews the use of a helmet for a pair of Advanced Combat Lenses, as well as the use of artificial strength enhancing systems that are succeptible to disruption by ion energy, making EMP and ion weapons extremely effective against this armor.
  • Light Armor. This armor only provides a limited area of coverage to the body. The arms and legs are completely exposed. You would't want to wear this on Hoth.
  • Resistant, not Impervious. While the terentatek and rancor hides are treated to be resistant to plasma-based weapondry, prolonged or repeated strikes will cause leather fatigue.

The Armor of Lylek is a modern update to the traditional garb of Dathomirian archers. Constructed by the Knights Obsidian of the Confederacy, the Armor of Lylek accounted for the unique demands of both spell casting and archery by their Mandragora rangers. A bracer was worn on just one arm, specifically the arm that held the energy bow. This provided a layer of protection between the archer and either the drawstring or the projectile's plasma recoil as a result of loosing the shot. The bracer extended over the knuckle of the thumb, safeguarding the hand from the glide of the projectile. Similarly, the shooting hand made use of a plasma resistant glove to protect the fingertips for any accidental contact with the plasma.

The armor itself was constructed of rancor leather that had been reinforced with an armorweave underlay and supported by the addition of terentatek hide plates. This greatly increased the resiliency of the resulting leather armor, allowing it to boast exceptional strength that was above average even against duraplast armors. While less encumbering that the standard Knights Obsidian armor, the Armor of Lylek was less versatile overall and lacked the additional resiliencies of the stock armor.
