STRENGTHS
:

Adroit: Maud is naturally adept at skills that require physical activity. Be it running or fighting or hunting, these activities come natural to him. It is for this reason that he is learned in many forms of tools that can often be used for hunting: Staves, swords, daggers, knives, bows, etc.

Force Prowess: Being the biological son of two powerful force users, as well as in proximity to multiple masters (Avalore Eden, Gabriel Sionoma, Relit Vandal), Maud is quite capable with utilization of the force. While this lends well to the basics, he has moved towards the more subtle and nuanced powers that focus on plant manipulation and concealing one’s physical and force presence.

Psychometry: Inherited from his Kiffar lineage, Maud has the rare ability to read information from items or subjects based solely on touch. This ability not only makes him annoying for others to deal with, when attempting to hide facts, but it also makes him a quite accomplished tracker.

Infrared Sight: Inherited from his Arkanian lineage, Maud is capable of seeing in infrared - though this trait is far diluted compared to the capabilities of a true blood Arkanian.

Deductive intellect: Perhaps from a combination of surroundings and natural talent, Maud has a keen eye for piecing out information and discovering concealed logical lines that others may not necessarily pick up on.

Legerity and Flexibility: Not only is his mind quick, but his body is as well. What he lacks in overbearing physical size, he makes up for in quickness, alertness, and flexibility.

WEAKNESSES:

Easily distracted: So set on experiencing life, Maud can often get side tracked and set off course by even the softest wind. Prone to fits of sonder, he revels in the complexity of life and all it’s many facets. While it can sometimes be charming, it also means he can have a hard time being productive when not isolated from circumstances that are saturated with chickens.

Casual Disregard: While it can often be interpreted as a distinct marmoreal sense, it is far from the case. Maud has lived a relatively carefree life and it has extended into adulthood. While agile and graceful, he can appear clumsy due to this nonchalance mixed with an abundance of curiosity.

Technophobia: Beyond the necessities, such as flight and life saving devices, Maud has a certain disdain for the almost comical overuse of technology in modern civilization. He suspects that the skill sets of most civilization has shifted so far towards being tethered to technology, that many would not survive if simply dropped into the wild to fend for themselves.

Quietly Contumacious: Maud has many beliefs and principles that cement as his foundation. While he may not be immediately quick to argue for these values, he nevertheless contends with a certain modicum of stubbornness in changing his belief sets. This can even translate into disobedience should guidance come from an authority figure.

Lean: Unlike his biological father, Maud is far from stocky. While this benefits his particular profession, he has the difficulty in sustaining a weight above his currently lean figure. This may be an artifact of his metabolism or of his active life style.

Irenic: While not necessarily a true weakness, it puts him in a bit of a pickle when situations can not be charmed or talked out of. His beliefs have instilled within him a sense that everything can be solved peacefully. It has given him a form of contempt for those who actively engage in war, even members of the Galactic Alliance.

APPEARANCE:

Armaud stands a tall and lean figure, though obviously muscular from persistent activity in the wild. Eyes shine a deep green, concealing delicate hints of brown within. His straw blond hair is dreaded, though well kept and occasionally adorned with auburn ribbons. The slight growth of facial hair frames his sharp jawline though he promises that as soon he can grow it out, he’ll look a proper woodsman.

His attire could be considered eclectic and even eccentric at times. Forgoing the use of synthetic materials, he prefers the aesthetics of wools, hide and leather, and furs. The clothing conglomeration may appear as a motley of different materials, woven together in hodgepodge, but it is nothing if not functional.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS (And Background):

PRE-ROLEPLAY:
  • Right Arm: When he was a bit younger, Armaud worked with cattle and juments. Largely dealing with maintenance of farm equipment and upkeep of property, Maud managed to get into a bit of a tangle with concertina wire. When it was all said and done, a rather large laceration was stitched up that would later form an intricate spiral from elbow to wrist, encompassing his forearm several times. Approaching adulthood, he since had the scars obscured by tribal tattoos of red and black.
  • Left Side Face: Not one to take guidance from others, Maud felt it necessarily to scale the canyon walls that hoisted the Tap Tree of the Katarn Apiary. With crampons and hooks, he did so and rather unsuccessfully. Nearing the mid point where the top of the tree is obscured by condensation clouds, Maud lost his footing and plummeted into the tree. Leaving with no fatal wounds, he made his way back down the tree with a deep gouge across his jaw, cheek, and eyebrow (though his eye was unscathed). Coincidentally, by the time he reached his mother, the wound had been crudely stitched up. To this day, no one but Maud and the secret medic are aware of who committed the hack job of a repair. [member="Avalore Eden"] did what she could to mend it but Maud was adamant that a scar remain, as reminder of the mistake.
  • Left Leg: Taking a playbook from the Jedi Master Relit Vandal, Maud decided that he would keep his age by bands on his leg. Thick black bands, concentric around his thigh, are tattooed up his leg to indicate age. For every 5 years of life, a single band.
  • Piercings: Having no real aversion to pain, Maud carries an abundance of piercings on his ears. What he adorns them with changes with the seasons, though he tends to trend towards large gauges, treated ankarres wood spikes, and naturalized horn.
ROLEPLAY:
  • Soon...
COMMON APPAREL and POSSESSIONS:
  • City clothing
  • Traveler or wanderer garb
  • Daggers (3) - Placed across the small of his back. One hilt faces the left, the other two face right (as he is right handed). Blade's crafted by his uncle, handle of ankarres and blade of damascus durasteel.
  • Hunting Hatchet - Of similar construction as the daggers, though more personal detail put in by Maud on the handle and the leather sheath that hangs from a brass ring.
  • Long Bow - Hand crafted from Ankarres, the bow is capable of being destringed and stored in a large walking stick.
  • Annulum Ignis

BIOGRAPHY:

MHgUEnU.jpg
Though he was born as one of two twins, biologically the son of Gabriel Sionoma, Maud was adopted by Avalore Eden and Meeristali Peradun soon after his birth. Raised within the Katarn Homestead on Sulon, he has known a life of relative peace and exploration - surrounded by numerous family members.

As he grew from a young child, gaining a sense of self-awareness, he quickly realized that he was different than most children. Those whom populated Baron’s Hed, who could afford the luxuries of what life could offer, often partook in things that he always considered excessive. While he took to chasing butterflies, following babbling brooks, and teasing sensitive fern, other children were learning tricks on the Holonet. Relit Vandal, a transient Jedi Master who can often be found around the Tap Tree of the Katarn Apiary, took to calling him Mr. Old Soul soon after discovering these idiosyncrasies.

While Maud was raised by his adoptive parents, he took a liking to his uncle for reasons he couldn’t explain. In some ways, he always felt that the hobbies Gabe took on were the sort he wanted for himself. Creating things from what was provided, tending to the world around them, bettering himself through thought towards who he was. While Maud can’t recall the first time he went hunting with his uncle, he likes to think that it happened around four. After that, it was a life of training and subsistence. Hunting by spear, learning the fruits and flowers of the world and outward, learning to fend and provide for himself. And while Gabe taught him all this and more, he took to Relit for spiritual and philosophical guidance.

While it couldn’t be considered traditional Jedi training, Relit taught Maud what he could of the ways of the Jedi. But the war, with the cybernetics and with the One Sith, had changed Relit - producing a more jaded view of conflict resolution. In order to save life, one must be willing to take it as well. Maud couldn’t wrap his head around the concepts of such a philosophy. It always seemed excessive to him. So he focused on the schools of practice, lending himself towards abilities that he could harness in the wild. For Relit, it was plant surge and beast mastery. Maud was taught repeatedly that open discourse was the key to all things. With plants, with animals, with people too. He just wasn’t willing to consider the step that followed.

Spending minimal time with technology, Maud built his young life in pursuit of bettering himself. Perhaps that worked, perhaps it didn’t. There will always be ruts with which to contend. But he now has taken to exploration outside of Sulon, mind saturated with concepts of xenobotany and xenobiology. A curiosity grows with him that he hopes to harness for self discovery.
