DESCRIPTION
The Ar’khos Corporate Combine was founded by an Arkanian family that eventually resuted in a half-Arkanian heiress by the name of Ivlyn Mecetti, and it is currently led by Ivlyn Mecetti’s father, Par’kh Ar’khos, who serves as the Executive President of the Ar’khos Corporate Combine. It has expanded into the Tapani sector as of late, leaving its home where it is part of the corporatocracy, and building a new laboratory on Pelagon. With the capacity to manufacture much of what they intend to produce, the Ar’khos Corporate Combine is ready to do their best in high technology, biotech and other fields of bioengineering, and really science and engineering in general, with their slow but sure expansion hoping to encompass a great many things by the time they are done with their jobs. Development of shipbuilding bases, real estate assets, a fleet, and similar things will allow the Combine to fulfill other goals. It isn’t the most influential corporation in the Tapani sector, but is smart at what it does. The company accepts private manufacturing requests, as well as research and development requests from private individuals or organizations - including rare genetic modifications, and perhaps even Sithspawn created by Ivlyn some time in the future, that will be offered in a more secretive manner - but also works on behalf of the Tapani noble houses and the Galactic Alliance when it comes to Galactic Alliance space. It is essentially loyal to itself. When it comes to whether or not they are seen as benevolent or grinding planets into dust, the Corporate Combine prefers not to completely obliterate places in a short period of time. Besides, that would make them enemies. If you strip mine a populated planet into oblivion, it doesn’t look good for anyone. Any more illicit operations, or ones that border on the edge, are likely to be kept on the more hidden side of things.
Note: The R&D section is capable of instigating research in a wide variety of areas, ranging from materials research to creating starship modifications, but being able to produce these things and fulfilling all the roles that a subsidiary could is another matter entirely. Manufacturing might have to be fulfilled by another company - and they might not be able to do it as well as Ar’khos could with a subsidiary, or Ar’khos might have to share manufacturing methodologies that the manufacturer might use to further their own technologies despite a patent - or the product, such as a rare genetic modification or a set of them designed for a specific customer, could be an expensive, almost always one-off procedure performed by a handful of highly skilled specialists.
RATIONALE
Ivlyn does not own nor control the company. She holds stakes in it, is the daughter of the owner, and works as a scientist for the corporation (something that stretches her even further), and often serves as her father’s envoy and proxy, but she does not have full control nor full ownership of the company. Should her father die, however, and even if Ivlyn has retired from the company when this occurs, Ivlyn will find herself in some kind of control, but without a majority stake of the Ar’khos Corporate Combine. As a scientist of the company, she is entitled to a paycheck, and could play a part in the research and development of different products. As an envoy and proxy, she can fulfill different administrative duties, but isn’t the actual owner nor is she in full control of the company.
The majority of the company’s shares were acquired by Mon Calamari Shipyards’ new Executive President, Kemoth of Asteria. While it still functions largely as normal, the company has become subservient to Mon Calamari Shipyards.
