STRENGTHS
  • Jack of All Trades: carrying 4 heavy laser cannons and 3 warhead launchers capable of carrying a variable payload of up to 12 warheads total, the T-65XN proves a worthy analog for its ancient predecessor, the XJ-series X-wings, and a flexible weapon capable of fighting everything from capitals and space stations (not alone, of course) to fellow snubfighters and interceptors
  • Built to Last: With an updated shielding suite compared to comparable starfighters, The T-65XN is capable of taking quite a bit of punishment for its size, in keeping with the doctrine of protecting pilots and focusing on the quality, rather than the quantity, of a squadron's piloting personnel.
WEAKNESSES
  • Master of None: While a formidable enemy for almost any opponent it could find itself face-to-face with, the T-65XN isn't a bomber or interceptor, and will always be outclassed in a given role compared to dedicated and specialized fighters designed for that role, even more so if a given loadout is specialized for one mission or the other.
  • Low Squadron Count: The T-65XN was designed to be flown in smaller squadrons compared to most fighters, preferring to use its armament and shields to make up for the difference in numbers.
DESCRIPTION

Ari Naldax had been approached multiple times during her mercenary times by industry insiders - especially from the venerable Verpine Slayn and Korpil and Fresian Incom-Freitek - to work on a new snubfighter. However, at first because she was reeling from having lost her homeworld to the Bryn and later because of the transitory nature of being a mercenary squadron, she was never in a position to oblige and offer her help on their new designs. This changed when she was recruited into the GADF's starfighter corps, and finally had a stable enough living and financial situation to dedicate time to continue the long tradition of Officers and Pilots designing new generations of starfighters.

The first offer she accepted was from Incom-Freitek, who were looking to create an updated line of X-wing pattern starfighters, outfitted with the munitions and avionics to allow for a wide variety of mission profiles and capable of operating long stretches without complementary fighter support. This resulted in a modern equivalent to the venerable and legendary XJ-series X-wing, the Incom-Freitek T-65XN, nicknamed the "Wolf-X" by Nemesis squadron in honor of their veterans' and leader's former mercenary squadron, and the lead flight's designation.

Outfitted with high-range Taim & Bak KX-series laser cannons and three variable-munitions ordnance launchers capable of being loaded with anything from Proton and Intruder Torpedoes designed to take on capitals to Conner Nets and Concussion missiles made for starfighter combat, the T-65XN's hat is to wear a great many hats, and it's designed to do this well, trading how many can effectively operate together in a squadron for its armament, an upgraded shield generator and countermeasures suite, and a relatively high maneuverability which, while not on par with purpose-built interceptors and ships outfitted with crazy thruster complements, is well on par with comparable snubfighters.

The T-65XN isn't meant for mass-production or front-line duty, but is designed to serve as a versatile and flexible platform for special missions squadrons, dignitary escorts, and squadrons with other duties that require smaller squadron sizes, higher endurance, and that must be prepared for a wide variety of threats. Though imperfect, the T-65XN should serve as a true and worthy spiritual successor to the centuries-old T-65XJ.

View of the T-65XN Starfighter's Cockpit
STRENGTHS
  • Dark and Impenetrable as Night: Noticing the danger she usually puts herself in as not only the Squadron lead but also the lead fighter in any mission, Ari has outfitted her personal fighter with a stealth suite which includes Nightshadow stealth treatment, Whisperthrust engine, and a sensor scrambler, allowing the fighter to slip through enemy sensor fields and defensive screens.
  • Falling Upon Them like Lightning: While the T-65XN was already a well-armed and versatile fighter, the BlackWolf has had its laser cannons switched out for phased pulse cannons, which provide faster, heavier-hitting bolts when compared to the standard laser cannon array. This provides it with increased armament ability.
WEAKNESSES
  • Maintenance Blues: The Nightshadow stealth treatment and WhisperThrust engines are expensive to maintain and require specialized maintenance procedures and training, meaning Ari must spend a lot of her own time and money maintaining this fighter and keeping it in fighting shape
  • Marco.... Polo!: While the stealth technology fitted on the BlackWolf is very capable indeed, any and all concealment it provides is compromised by use of active sensors, or broad-spectrum communications. Care must even be taken with tight-beam communications to ensure that an enemy or bystander doesn't cross through the path of the communications, as such communications might as well see the fighter blasting a beam of light with the brightness of a star across the cosmos
  • Parallax Error: Like its sisters in the T-65XN class, the BlackWolf's cannons must be zeroed in at a static distance (Normally 250m for Starfighter combat and 1km for ground attack), and only skilled pilots are capable of engaging in combat that's unsuited for a given zeroing distance.
DESCRIPTION

After being shot down over Mustafar, Ari had to reconsider her practices and role in a dogfight. Her tendency of jumping ahead and taking point in operations meant she could take most of the risk off of her suboordinates, but it also meant that she often flew directly into tough situations with her help still trying to catch up, weaving through defenses, or dealing with the enemy's alert forces. With the recovered hull of her T-65XN and the flight recordings from her Astromech for a reference point, Ari began to make plans to modify a new WolfX to serve her position as the lead pilot and first into the fight of Nemesis Squadron.

Her first improvement was to treat the entire hull of the fighter with "Nightshadow" anti-sensor treatment, as well as to acquire a set of WhisperThrust engines and modify them to fit in the nacelles of her X-Wing. Second, she replaced the standard laser cannons with phased pulse cannons, giving her weapons systems a little bit more punch. Finally, she installed a more effective maneuvering package, allowing the thrusters and main engines to give her just enough more maneuverability to match her skills on the stick.

Because of the black and dark-grey coloring of the stealth coating and the general stealthiness of Ari's fighter, Nemesis Squadron has already christened it with the name "BlackWolf"

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • From the Depths of Hell in Silence: As it's special designation and nickname denote, the Stealth-Y is outfitted with specialized equipment designed to make it extremely stealthy in the face of enemy sensors, including a sensor-dampening treatment, WhisperThrust engines, a masking system, and a sensor scrambler. This allows the Stealth-Y to slip through enemy fighter screens and sensor fields with near impunity, allowing them to strike their enemy undetected, unexpected.
  • Cast their Spells, Explosive Violence: Though the internal weapons bay limits the amount of large or very large munitions the Stealth-Y can carry, even when it's carrying its standard 8-count loadout of Proton Bombs, it carries more than enough firepower to wrack ruin on any enemy which draws its rage, even an entire city.
  • Unbroken: The Stealth-Y is outfitted with an absolutely stellar deflector shield and extremely durable Matrix Armor, which allow it to absorb absolutely brutal amounts of punishment after striking a target or if its stealth systems were to fail.
WEAKNESSES
  • Moves like a Hutt: Just like it's regular-forces cousins, the Stealth-Y is rather deficient in the maneuverability and speed fields. While it's not near as bad as the K-wing in maneuverability or the H-wing in speed, nearly any well-built interceptor or superiority fighter that detects it is going to have a rather easy time keeping up.
  • Vulnerable Backseater: Unlike many other designs that Ari has worked on, due to space restraints the Stealth-Y doesn't have an armored cover for its Astromech - leaving their dome vulnerable to enemy fighter - this can prove a rather difficult situation to the pilot and gunner as the astromech serves an important role supplementing the limited navicomputer and providing battlefield repairs and calibrations
  • Stealth or Shields: While the Whisperthrust engines and the stealth treatment can act passively, the strongest part of the stealth package - the Vanish-2 sensor-masking system, requires a large power-draw from the reactor, and so the heavily upgraded shields of the Stealth-Y must be disabled while it's active.
DESCRIPTION

The BTL-SB Stealth-Y is a peculiar little ship which was designed by Colonel Ari Naldax only to be pulled out for a very specific mission profile - one in which heavily defended enemy positions simply had to be destroyed, without cover from other fighters. For that she looked at the venerable design which had served republics and rebels and alliances for nearly 900 years - the Y-wing. Choosing to incorporate many of the lessons she had learned from the design of her own personal stealth fighter, the Blackwolf, she created what is perhaps the most glorious monstrosity to grace modern battlefields - the Stealth-Y

Using an internal weapons bay, rather than tubed ordnance launchers or external hardpoints, Ari ensured that the Stealth-Y was flexible enough to be outfitted with nearly any loadout its mission required while maintaining stealth. Speaking of stealth, while it's outfitted with the same antisensor treatment and stealth engines as the Blackwolf, Ari knew that neither could defeat visual-range engagements. Added to the stealth package, to allow it even to make itself appear invisible to enemy fighters and defenses was the Vanish-2 Military Sensor Masking System. In case this system failed, however, she also made sure that the armor and deflector shields were improved to a high level, giving even a keen enemy a very hard case to crack.

Cracking a joke that someone had finally created the Y-wing version of the StealthX, the engineers at Income-FreiTek-Koensayr gave this new fighter the affection nickname the Stealth-Y.
