PERSONALITY | Ariona, known as Ari by friends, lovers, business associates, and the like, was a carefree and hotheaded smuggler. Raised on the streets of Nar Shaddaa until almost her pre-teen years and then as a Jedi for the rest of her childhood she's always had a bit of a rebellious streak in her. However, decades of war and betrayal have left her bitter when it comes to the Jedi Order. While she will not-so-happily step in to defend the truly weak and helpless as a Jedi should, she is also just as likely to drop them off at a crime lord's doorstep promising hope and leaving them as indentured servants to pay off her debts and bounties. She's an all-around bad influence generally speaking and should not be allowed to take on any learners, not that she would want the extra mouth to feed anyways.

APPEARANCE | Of average height for a Nautolan adult woman, Ari had bright red skin with cream white markings. Her color was a rarity for her people and was frequently sought after when she was a child on the streets of Nar Shaddaa for it. She often kept most of her tentacles tied in neat bundles pulled back. She was athletic and not afraid to show it, preferring tight-fitting midriff tanks and spacer's trousers. She claimed it was to be ready in case she needed to take a dive but as a spacer and part-time smuggler, there were very few instances of her being even within a parsec of water deep enough for her to swim.

Amphibious - Ari's Nautolon biology allows for her to breathe under water and on land. She also swims dumb fast, so try to keep up.

Athletic - Jedi training and spending most of her youth and early adult years in war has hardened her lithe body giving her exceptional endurance, strength, flexibility, and acrobatic ability even without the Force.

Jedi Pilot - She learned how to fly from a Corellian Jedi. There isn't much to say here other than it probably wouldn't be fair for her to join your standard dogfight, even in her dingy freighter.

Overconfident - "If the Graug and the Sith couldn't kill me, then by the Force as my witness this won't either!"

Errant Knight - Disolusioned and suspicious of the Jedi Order in its many forms in the Galaxy today, she has gone on more than one tirade of how it was time for the Jedi to end. Her beliefs on the Force and her willingness to do the right thing, even grudgingly, aligns her with the Jedi on more occasions than she cares to admit, but something inside keeps her from taking the plunge back into the Order.

Boiling Temper - A life as a smuggler, pilot, and inmate after being sent to war as a child has made Ari a rather abrasive and angry person. Her prison counselor did wonders and she's grown leagues since she got out of the slammer, but she is still quick to anger and quick to throw hands before diplomacy is even attempted.

Alcoholic - Drinking on the job. Drinking on the Jon. Drinking in bed. Drinking in the refresher. Drinking while flying...Wait, is that patrol ship hailing me? Better hide the booze and sober up

  • CHAPTER 1 |
Born on Nar Shaddah, Ariona was plucked up and brought to the Jedi Temple at the ripe age of nine years old. By then she'd already learned how to live on the streets of the Smuggler's Moon and had dozens of preconceived notions about the Galaxy. As a youngling, she was headstrong and passionate, striving to become the sort of Jedi that she had always wanted and needed in her life before the Jedi. As such, she was exceedingly competitive and got into too many fights. Her stubbornness got almost landed her in the AgriCorps despite her potential in the Force. When all hope seemed lost a Corellian Jedi took her on as his Padawan. The war with the Sith Empire was in full swing then and so she spent much of her time in and around the Corellian system with her master, helping the Omega Pyre mercenaries shore up defenses. Eventually, though, they were called off to war and war was hell.

In their first battle, her master was cut down right before her eyes. Enraged she attacked and killed the Sith and his Graug troops, nearly succumbing to the Dark Side. When the shell shocked girl returned to the temple she was punished for her actions after she told the council what had happened. She spent several days meditating in a confessional as her punishment, reliving all of her mistakes, all of the times she may have used the Force in the wrong way to get what she wanted, and finally that first battle. When she came out she was a different person. Driven, but beholden to the Force as it was. She was promoted to Knight in those teen years and spent the rest of the war fighting the Sith, mostly on water worlds or in the stars as a pilot. When the Galaxy seemed to be at peace and the Sith menace gone however the Sith returned, masquerading as one of their own. They sacked Coruscant and a second war began. Ariona couldn't bring herself to fight again in another war however and so she spent most of her time teaching younglings in their roaming praxeum as they fled the Sith and eventually regrouped into the Galactic Alliance. With victory in their grasp, she set aside her own ideals to fight for the Jedi, for the light of the Galaxy again.

With the betrayal of the Grand Master, however, Ariona completely lost faith in the Jedi. She retreated to Hutt Space, letting her anger out and dealing vigilante justice whenever it felt right. Eventually, the bounty on her head became too large to stay in Hutt Space and she fled to the Outer Rim where she continued to dole out her own brand of Jedi Justice. Eventually, that Jedi Justice just became angry, unbridled hate and disillusionment and she became what she hated most. For a time she led a group of ex Alliance soldiers, marines, and other stragglers as a roving pirate fleet. When they were caught by Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser they were given a choice: Serve the time, or get help. Ariona took the first option, though she was forced to seek help while serving her time. With plenty of idiots and criminals to beat on in prison and a caring, if not a little overbearing, prison counselor, she came out alright. She still believes the Jedi's time was over and she still does what she wants when she wants to, but now those urges were tempered. Scraping together some credits she picked herself up a crummy used vessel and made her way into the stars, offering her services as a courier and small-time independent shipper...With some smuggling on the side.
