HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Intent: To create an accessible holo-streaming service in order to replace purchasing individual holo-videos with something much more convenient and quicker, but in turn providing a steady paycheck to Abregado-Rae Holo-Vision Network via monthly subscription fees.
Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Abregado-Rae Holovision Network
Model: Video-streaming Holo-net Service
Affiliation: Barony of Abregado-Rae, Omega Protectorate, Levantine Sanctum
Modularity: All accounts pay the same monthly subscription fees, however, one could pay additional fees in order to purchase physical copies of the Holo-movies and shows, it is a way in which one could see shows ahead of time as there is few months of pause before shows and movies aired on the ARHVN are put up on the HoloZinema network.
Production: Unique holo-site and service, mass-produced movies, shows, videos, and their copies.
Material: Servers to keep physical copy of data, holo-net, holo-disks, and algorithms to predict which shows and movies people would like based on their past preferences.

Description: Seeing the interest of public outside of Abregado-Rae, even outside of Protectorate, in purchasing the shows and holo-videos done on Abregado, HK decided to cash in on the profits, perhaps there was future in motion picture industry on the planet after all?

What the droid and his Gados scientist think-tank came up with was the Project HoloZinema, an idea of instead selling copies of holo-videos individually, whether electronically or physically, selling subscriptions instead, and allowing the customers access to a whole collection of movies, stored in a cloud storage as well as physically on servers in Abregado-Rae vaults. It was a rather simple system, customers subscribe and pay monthly fee, in return they gain access to the cloud-stored movies and shows to temporarily stream on their communication devices instead of receiving a permanent copy.

The servers, kept safely in vaults beneath Abregado-Rae Government Building, contain back-up copies of the data streamed through HoloZinema service as well as copies of the customer accounts. Should the network ever crash, or be sabotaged, due to back-ups the Gados technicians who oversee it from the headquarters of ARHVN should be able to quickly restore the service.

Although the HoloZinema focuses about streaming movies and tv shows, games and music are also available for access, as well as shorter videos from the HoloTube service, all choices and preferences are kept in the subscriber's User Library, from where they can easily access their previously chosen movies, shows, games, and audio files in order to enjoy them once more. Their past choices are also used by the Preference Algorithms the HoloZinema use, it is an algorithm written by the Gados technicians and HK which determines what movies, shows, games, and audio a subscriber would enjoy based on which products they viewed, how they rated, and which products they did not finish (i.e. stopped watching a movie and never finished it because it was too awful, did not finish playing a game because it was boring) in order to predict which products the subscriber would enjoy or find interesting. These products are shown to the subscriber on their profile's homepage for ease of access, if they are looking for something new to watch.

However, there is few problems that come with use of this service. The first is, at least currently, the speed at which products are streamed. While the products are streamed almost instantly in the territories of Omega Protectorate and Levantine Sanctum (The two factions in which ARHVN is allowed to built broadcasting beacons and station) the farther one goes away from these territories the slower streaming becomes, for example, on Coruscant one would need to give the show few minutes before starting to watch it so that it can load up, and there would be lag from time to time, while some parts of the Republic, Mandalorian Tribes, Fringe Worlds, and Confederacy do not get the service at all due to the distance between them and OP or Sanctum territory. These problems could be solved by territories who want access to the service signing contract with HK and ARHVN in order to allow their beacons and stations to be constructed, spreading the coverage of HoloZinema and influence of ARHVN.

Another problem is the gap between shows and movies being aired as a premier on ARHVN or Abregado Movie Theaters and the shows being put up on HoloZinema for public without access to ARHVN. This gap lasts between 3-5 standard months and is done intentionally as a way of encouraging subscribers to either buy a physical copy of the product before it is accessible in its streaming version, or subscribe to ARHVN as well for additional fees in order to watch the shows and movies when they are aired on Holo-vision. It's a bit low, but business is business.
