The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Intent: To provide a submission and reference for Graphite, a material used in construction of Force Pikes, such as the Controller FP model, a rather obscure material with a bit contradicting descriptions, as per my agreement with Rasho the Hutt for Spears of Rae submission.
Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Echani since times of Old Republic, recently Abregado-Rae Guild of Hammers as well
Model: Echani Graphite
Affiliation: Echani, Abregado-Rae Guild of Hammers
Modularity: It can be formed into cylinders of different length and width.
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Manipulated Graphene to form a cylindrical structure

Description: Force Pikes are by no means an Echani invention, they have been used since ancient times, for example by the Sith Assassins to hunt down the Jedi during the Dark Wars. However, the method of Force Pike manufacturing has been greatly improved by the martial Echani through time, carrying their weaponry and training to survive even after the Galactic Civil War, treasured by the Royal Guards of Empire who inherited the weapons as part of their Echani heritage and influences, making them infamous around the Galaxy.

What truly set the Echani Force Pikes aside and improved on the older designs of the weapons was the material they were manufactured from. The durable Echani Graphite, a unique compound the Echani developed, in a way counter-part of the Mandalorian Iron, their rival martial culture. Just like the Mandalorian Iron, the Echani Graphite is able to withstand strong hits and energy damage without breaking or melting down, such as clashes of vibro-weaponry against Echani Graphite weapons and strikes of a lightsaber, able to withstand the plasma blades and combat them. However, the difference between Mandalorian Iron and Echani Graphite was that the Echani Graphite was more elastic, slightly lighter, and it was unusable in creation of blades and armor plates.

Although the Echani Graphite had a high breaking point, as did the Mandalorian Iron, it bent under pressure, as mention in the Controlled FP article, which was why the Echani valued the compound metal in their pole-arm weapons, such as the Vibro double-blade where the Echani Graphite was used in construction of the prolonged handle between the blades, and the Echani Battle Staves (The articles do not say that the weapons were made from Graphite but they do not say if they were made from any other metal, and it makes sense why it would be later used to craft Force Pikes by Echani). The metal's ability to absorb strikes into its structure without shattering or breaking was why later on the Echani incorporated it into the Force Pikes they manufactured. While the Echani Graphite is lighter than Mandalorian Iron, it is still heavier than Phrik, sitting somewhere between Beskar and Phrik on the weight scale.

The way Echani Graphite was manufactured was by breaking down normal Graphite the Echani were able to mine on their planet. Then the Graphite is formed into a flat, but extremely durable structure known as Graphene through Carbon manipulation. The Echani were able to develop a method in which the Graphene was then cycled and twisted, forming cylindrical structures through process they called Graphite Fletching (As it was compared to crafting arrows) and re-structured into much tougher and durable form of graphite called the Echani Graphite (Although Graphene was described as 100 times the strength of steel, Echani Graphite has strength more comparable to that of Mandalorian Iron).

The process of Graphite Fletching is rather advanced but not impossible to replicate, especially by beings that had extensive contact with Echani weaponry and training (Like HK) or have witnessed the process being conducted and have enough technical knowledge to know how it was done.

Another downside of Graphite Fletching was that it is impossible to create flat structures from Echani Graphite. While the Graphene is flat in its original form, it is also flat to the point of being 2-dimenional, and placing its layers on top of each other results in the structure loosing its properties and becoming as fragile as normal graphite while twisting Graphene and cycling it into Echani Graphite only causes its properties to weaken (That is why it is not as durable as steel times 100 but closer to Mandalorian Iron). As such, the Echani Graphite is unusable in creation of traditional armor plates or blades but it is perfect for manufacturing of weapon handles, hilts, and pole-arm weaponry like the Force pikes, dual-blade vibroswords, or Echani Battlestaves.

Model: Gados Electrite
Affiliation: Abregado-Rae Guild of Hammers
Modularity: It can be formed into cylinders of different length and width
Production: Minor (Capable of Mass-Production but no practical application found yet except aesthetics)
Material: Manipulated Graphene mixed with Electrum to form a golden cylindrical structure

Description: When HK ordered the creation of Spears of Rae, it was the Echani Graphite he has chosen as the material for the weapon's construction. He knew the Lightsabers were once more a common sight on the battlefield, both among his allies and enemies alike, that is why he has chosen a lightsaber-resistant material for construction.

While the Gados scientists were replicating the process of Graphite Fletching in order to begin manufacturing of Graphite Shafts for the Spears of Rae, they have discovered a curious relationship. They were able to bond the golden Electrum mined on Abregado-Rae and Graphene during Graphite Fletching.

As a result, they were able to create Echani Graphite, except it was golden in color. It had all the same properties as Echani Graphite, except its golden texture has made it more appealing and it was pricier to manufacture due to the Electrum being involved in the process. The Gados have named the material Gados Electrite but they have pushed it aside, favoring the cheaper Echani Graphite in weapon's construction. If the Electrite would be ever used, it would be for creation of golden weaponry for ceremonial or award purposes.

A phrik/beskar equivalent...that doesn't work for armor or blades. And has at least some basis in actual science.

I think I love you.

Wholeheartedly approved pending secondary.
