Strengths:
  • Defender - This thing is incredibly well defended, it would take a significant amount of firepower to take one of these things down.
  • Guardian - The Vessel can put up a deflector shield to act as a staging area and a protective barrier, and its weapons systems act as defensive emplacements when under attack. It can put up a deflector shield up to 375 meters in a sphere from the base of the pyramid and 25 meters above the tip.
  • Air Support - In order to assist with operations the ship has a large hangar in order to provide air support
  • Pinpoint - This ship has the ability to penetrate blockades given the pilot is talented, or brave enough, to attempt it.
  • Out of the way! - Thanks to the HIMS, this thing is going where it wants to and nobody is going to tell it otherwise (Except of course, somebody with a big enough interdictor)
Weaknesses:
  • The Incredible Bulk - This thing is about as slow as it gets.
  • The Incredible Bulk Cont. - Its also highly unwieldy, this thing is the opposite of maneuverable.
  • Anemic - The vessel has an anemic armament, which is essentially useless in ship to ship engagements
  • Antimatter Annahilation - Antimatter reactors are not exactly safe under extreme circumstances, if the reactor overloads the entire ship is probably going to go up in a big ball of fire
  • Power Draw - While the shield is running engine systems must be fully disengaged, the engine systems take well over 30 minutes to reengage, which can mean the difference between life and death during the firefight, and the deflector shields cannot be running while the engines rev up. This makes rapid evacuation almost impossible.
Description:
  • Crew: 900
  • Military Complement - 5000 troops
  • Vehicle Complement: 80 Speeders, 6 Large Walkers, 12 Small Walkers, 15 Aerial Transports
The Argamar-Class Cathedral ship is designed to be a planetary assault ship/mobile base designed to help assist in and facilitate planetary assaults. They are able to jump in behind blockades, and land on planets in order to establish a foothold. Once landed they establish a deflector shield around the landing site in order to allow the forces to stage before moving on to their individual objectives. The ships also have their armament mounted in such a way so as to allow them to act as defensive emplacements, essentially making the vessels mobile bases that allow generals to run a command center without needing to set up an actual construction, the vessel can act as the base itself.

The Vessels are not at all designed for ship to ship combat, and in this role it provides a rather anemic capability. The ships are designed to get behind blockades with the precision Nav computer and the HIMS and take any punishment thrown at it until it is able to land. The vessels excel in this purpose, and tend to strike fear into anyone seeing a horde of these Pyramid Shaped hulks coming down upon the planet.

The ships are also of a certain religious significance, each ship carrying up to 100 priests who operate the cathedral part of the cathedral ship. These ships can also be used to provide religious and defensive services to undeveloped frontier worlds, providing the comfort of religion to any who need it. While the religious practices performed on the ship are beyond the control of Blith-Tech, they leave a large space in the center of the vessel to be used for this purpose which can be customized by the end user. This ensures that no mistakes are made in the design of the cathedral, and prevents any incidents that might be caused by mistakes in religious imagery, convention, etc.

This needs to link to the approved company submission for the company, rather than its marketplace page.

Tell me a bit more about this. How large of an area can this deflector shield encompass?

[member="Nicademus Blith"], no worries. I apologize for the late reply myself. I try to get back to everyone within a day.

This is a pretty big shield to put up and expand. I'm okay with that, but that power has to be coming from somewhere. I'd like to see mention of it draining power from some other system to rationalize this ability in-character, and to balance it out for gameplay purposes from an out of character perspective.

This is really quite a lot of people and vehicles to carry on a ship this size. We're pretty close to the Acclamator-class Assault Ship in size (and it's a full, dedicated troop transport), and this carries vastly more troops.

We have two basic options.

1) List it as a strength, and compensate for it somewhere else by either reducing ratings and/or adding weaknesses

2) Lower troop complement and carried vehicles. If we go this route, we're probably talking around roughly 5,000 troops and a proportionate reduction in carried vehicles.

[member="Gir Quee"], I lowered the crew count and made it so that the engines must be fully disengaged while the shields are activated (Wasting time during evacuation and providing a weak time period for which the ship is vulnerable to hit and run strikes)
