Are you truly lost among the stars?

The vaccuum of space took away the rest of the ash that had not been removed by Faith and the Captain. And now was the time for her to freshen up before any bacteria invaded and made her ill. She would take the controls of the ship when done so that the Captain could do the same.

The planet looked close but it was not it would take a few hours to get there, and what would they find.

She came out of the refresher looking more like Faith than before. She thought about D and Bud. Not like they were ever very far from thought. So. What would she do if they were found ?

Pass out for certain.

The Ice blue planet lay in the distance. It was beautifully breath taking. A shimmering blue planet there among the blackness of space. Like a fine diamond polished and laying on a silk black cloth. Just looking at it made it hard to believe such a planet could be dangerous.

While the Captain cleaned up Faith looked ahead it was a beautiful place from space nothing like the breathing fire of the last one. Could the pods have made it there, they'd of had enough air for certain.

God what was it about her family and planets that were so off the beaten path that no one went to them much. Her mother, and now her husband, hopefully her husband. Her son.

their first night together, in the Aunt Rekha's hidden room. They were hiding from the zombies, god what he put her through she had no experience and he had all the experience. She thought she'd die, he wouldn't stop. They had not stopped much since that night.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the Captain, "anything?"

"Not that I can hear" She looked up that smile still on her face.

Captain Lindsey nearly jumped, Faith did jump, "was that a sound?" She was trying to reach for the controls, just as the Captain was. "Ok Princess we can't both do it"

Faith nodded, "fine you fly I'll do it" They switched chairs and she began to focus in on the sound, the tiny bleep, "there it is....there's one..it's weak the power source" They had to find it quickly the power source was draining down.

"Can you follow this path to the pod?" Faith put the path into the navcomp so that he could see it. They were moving quicker now, picking up speed, but not so fast they'd miss it.

Beep Beep Beep Beep beep

The signal, they still had a signal. The question could they get close enough to determine a good location of where the pod was.

BEEP

Don't lose it!!! Please don't lose it. Whatever they found would be better than living in doubt.

BEEP

"Princess I'm following the signal" Faith was standing up looking like that would make it go any faster.

BEEP

Her eyes scanned once they got through the atmosphere and were flying over the planet itself, Faith looked, "one extreme to another"

BEEP

"Find that pod" They were getting closer

Through transparasteal view port….it was a blanket of white. The wind whipped snow about and one could not make out where the ground was.

The beeping stopped. It no longer echoed off the walls of the bridge. Where did it go? Did they lose the signal? They lost the transponder signal?

Then the beeping started again! Feeth, what was going to happen next!

Faith was ready to lose her mind, "isn't there a way to home in on it more accurately"

Captain Lindsey shook his head, "we'll have to land and go on foot to it" Faith could feel the anxiety building inside, "ok." it was hard to take so close yet so far.

The ship landed as close to the signal as it could get, and still it was not close. Dressing in protective gear, the pair exited the ship and began the walk towards the beacon.

BEEP

BEEP

The weather hoard. High winds and snow so think it made visibility near to zero. That’s what they had to look forward too. To fly through, to land, and to try to walk through. This was not going to be easy. They was a beacon out there. If they waited…they could lose their led.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

The beacon to the ship was on and transmitting, the beacon for the escape pod was sporadic. In the weather gear the pair trudged onward, blinding snow pelted their clothing, the temperatures seem to drop with each step.

The snow was deep, layers of ice beneath the soft powder. Faith shivered, "is it much further?" How far had they come, would they freeze out here?

She moved patting her hands together to keep her fingers from growing numb beneath the gloves.

They had parked the ship as close as possible. The terrain up ahead was rocky as it was part of the side of a mountain. Great location. It meant that there was a chance of cave systems nearby. That meant shelter for whomever had landed here.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Her cheeks felt numb, her fingers tingled, but the rest of her seemed to be doing well with the snow. The change in the terrain pushing upwards the slopes of the mountain were steep but not impassible.

They pushed onward they could not see if there was a cave the snow was blinding they only thing leading them was the steady beep. What would happen if they found the beacon but no one with it? They could have died after they got out of the pod.

They could have been rescued by another group.

They could be sitting waiting with a cup of hot tea.

"I getting cold" The wind was taking her breath.

First they came across bits of metal and trash scattered across the ground. Further inspection it was bits and pieces left over from escape pods that were torn apart. The vast majority of the pieces were elsewhere and not here. The beacon was not coming from here. It was coming from further up the mountain.

Faith looked at the pieces strewn about left like yesterday's laundry to be picked up. Shattered pieces of metal that were twisted oddly not a good sign. Her blood ran cold at the thought of them suffering.

"Don't think on it too long" The Captain warned he had seen her do it since she was a child to obsess on something until it was an extension of her personality.

"Ok" She would try, "we keep moving"

They trudged upwards, Faith looked back she couldn't see the ship, was it still there? She wouldn't think on it, she looked upwards, "the beacon could be stuck in a block of ice attached to nothing, right?"

"Yes, it happens."

"Great"

They kept moving.

After a very cold period of time they had finely made it to the cave. The entrance to the cave was not a large one. It could handle two humans of average size walking side by side. It was acutely just tall enough for a large man to walk into the cave without ducking.

As soon as they would walk into the cave the difference in temperature could be noticed. It was far warmer inside the cave. Still cold but much warmer the freezing blizzard outside. It may have been a good steady count to sixty. That is the time walking through the entrance of the cave and deeper into the cave. It took a count of sixty seconds tell they had come across something of value. Pieces, sheets of derasteel fitted together making a wall. It blocked all further travel into the cave. There was a make shift door attached to the wall. Could it be a door to pass through? Was it somebody’s home? They could knock and find out.

Faith stood at the door, so what now? knock? or just open? Or. She knew that the door was man made could see the seams, this was not a magical structure nor one manufactured.

She looked at Captain Lindsey who had his weapon, "just in case"

She nodded, in case what?

Faith making a fist pounded on the door, she'd wait the customary moments counting to ten before she tried to open it

The door opened. The man who answered was not Dar but it was a gentelmen who wore a tatred and beatten winterized Republic uniform jacket. There was not a sinifagent rank on his lapel. The young man was just a private and right away he put away his heavy blaster pistol and saluted Captain Lindsey. Surprised, the young man did not know eather the Captain or Faith. He was just surprised and super happy someone was here to save them, “Thank the Force you showed up Captain. We’ve been stuck here. Well it has been so long it seems like it has been forever!”

"Stand easy private" the Captain nodded, Faith came around, "Well we will be sure to get you home, but you said we've how many are here?" She couldn't bring the words to ask the names.

She could see he had made use of every thread of his uniform, it was thin and not very warm but at least the cave provided some protection against the elements.

"Do you need medical attention?" They'd be sure to have the droids look them over.

“No I am fine”, he was missing a few fingers but they looked to be old injuries. “There are more of us here. They are going to be so happy to hear we’re getting off this frozen rock. A few of us did go out hunting today and they still have not made it back yet. It is getting closer to night. I hope they make it back soon.”
