DESCRIPTION

Arador Kahn's armor is his most prized possession apart from his weapons, and like most other bounty hunters, it is a symbol of who he is. Kahn's armor is designed by himself, built by engineers he hired with the credits he brings in from his contracts. From head to toe, there are a number of gadgets and devices that help Kahn in his line of work and is designed to similarly represent his underhanded approach to combat. It is filled with a thermal gel that regulates Khan's body from temperature extremes as well as providing the last line of defense against anything that might breach through that is energy/heat based.

Starting with his helmet, which is a smooth featureless design with its viewport crafted from crystasteel that is polarized to conceal his identity as well as minimize any blinding effects. A set of projectors just beneath the surface of the crystasteel projects images on the featureless helmet, typically used for intimidation tactics but generally the only way one really sees a face on Kahn. The helmet is outfitted with a number of different suites, the most prominent feature is its ability to swap between different vision sets [Thermal/Backscatter/NV] as well as provide up to 8x zoom assistance for firing a weapon without an attached scope. It has a built-in communicator and those around Kahn cannot hear him speak unless he is transmitting via speakers. His helmet monitors his vitals, weapons, and environment to give him a full set of data regarding him and everything else around him. All other suit functions are also initiated via his helmet.

The most prominent feature on Kahn's armor is the obvious shoulder protrusion. Despite its rather odd and harmless looking appearance, it is actually able to house munitions of Kahn's choosing within it that can be fired at a target. His most favorite munition to fire from this shoulder-mounted launcher is an electric net that can be cast at an unsuspecting target, tangling them in its electric web and subduing them. He has been on occasion been known for loading small rockets/missiles as well as gas canisters into the launcher. Another personal favorite of Khan's is a number of flashbulbs installed that can be triggered at point blank to blind an opponent. Most of these are meant to be fired from close to mid-range to take his opponents by surprise, especially those who favor melee combat which Kahn thrives off of.

Moving down to the majority of the armor's construction, which is a mix of glistaweb fabric to help deflect blaster fire and duraplast for sturdier protection, the armor weave sewn underneath provides additional padding and protection to help compensate for kinetic force, though it does little to minimize the full impact of a kinetic weapon in terms of its kinetic energy. It provides full body coverage and is able to be sealed to withstand vacuum environments for a limited period of time [30 minutes] as long as it remains unbreached. His boots are equipped with magnetic locks that can help keep him rooted firmly to any metal surface, and also outfitted with thrusters to allow for limited hover/flight ability.

The armor is equipped with Kahn's cybernetic arm which replaces his missing left arm. This arm is extremely dexterous and sturdy, and like most cybernetics, superior in terms of strength compared to its biological counterpart. It houses a number of hidden features that pose a dangerous threat to foolish people who come within its grasp. To begin with, the palm and fingers are capable of running a powerful electric current through whatever it comes into contact with, often used to disable and subdue a less than willing target. The side of the forearm houses a pop-out flamethrower capable of scorching and setting enemies ablaze that are within a short distance and is often used to deter any attackers from getting closer. Finally, the upper part of the forearm can slide away to extend a Phrik blade that can be used to slash or stab at a target as well as defend against lightsabers, though the rest of the arm and Kahn's armor is still susceptible to damage from a lightsaber. His non-cybernetic hand is equipped with sharpened claws to rake and pierce his enemies.

Strengths:
  • Khan's armor is designed to allow him to take a beating, though like anything it will still physically harm him. It provides layered defenses to protect him from most job hazards he will encounter. This ranges from environmental extremes to weapon based protection.
  • Like Khan, his armor embodies a more underhanded approach to handling enemies. The numerous hidden features and gadgets take most opponents completely by surprise and will more often than not be to Khan's advantage. It aims to give him an advantage while exploiting the opponent.
Weaknesses:
  • Though it is lightly shielded from EMP, any close detonation or exposure to a strong source will shut down most of his armor's functions. He would have to rely purely on his line of sight through the crystasteel visor in order to see, and his own speed and strength to fight his enemies. His arm will also be rendered completely uselss for a time if exposed to the effects of an EMP.
  • Like any suit of armor, there is a weak point somewhere to be found. Khan's armor is particularly susceptible to bladed weapons that are able to avoid hitting the duraplast plated areas of his body. And like most armors, his is vulnerable to a lightsaber, with the exception of the Phrik blade housed in his arm.
  • Those who have encountered and fought with Khan in the past have likely wisened up to the hidden features of his armor, and if they are smart, won't fall for the same tricks or tactics a second time.
  • The interchangeable launcher requires a pretty hefty time to swap out its payload/munitions. It is therefore impractical for him to attempt to do so in a fight as it will take far too long to swap out and utilize in a short-lived engagement. Thus he must prepare carefully to ensure that he is properly outfitted with the right back up.
