The Catharian Mountain Range was as vast as it was dangerous. Not just for the height of its peaks and the narrowness of its escarpments, but also for the imposing size of the various fauna which inhabited the area. Insects the size of avians, avians the size of speeders, and herbivores the size of walkers. Everything that lived in the region, and by extension the planet, was big. In that respect, it reminded Ellissanthia of the jungle rancors, mantas, and acklays on Felucia. Thus, while the size of the creatures came as little shock to her, the fact that she was not familiar with the local ecosystem (and its associated hazards and quirks) necessitated that she bring with her a guide.

Or at least, an escort.

“Okay.” Ellissanthia turned towards the towering sentient loth-wolf who she had brought with her as she approached a large waterfall from the beach on the lower side. Although the waterfall itself was torrential and rapid, loud enough that she had heard it from miles away, the water past the point of the fall was relatively gentle. Thus, the Undine did not anticipate that crossing the river would be too difficult.

However, she wondered how well the 20 feet tall loth-wolf with her could swim.

“Are you sure that you can swim, Rieka?”

"Aye, but if I can help it I would prefer to not get soggy."

That, and you could never be sure what was hidden under the waters.. Even if rapid. The beast sniffs aloud a few times, checking the scents in the winds before tilting her head at the water. It was on her to make sure this little blue one made it to some temple they were after... Was she told about ti? Did she forget the fine details... Maybe..

Rieka rests on all fours, lowered to the ground as much as she can.

"Go ahead mate, climb on. The quick or the dead as they say.. Well, people say a lot of things but this one isn't pure gamorrean pish."

Rieka had waited for a time, being sure to be patient and for the escort to climb aboard. Once time had passed on long enough the beast raises, simply jumping over the river.. Staying far away from the bank after landing.

"You cling on tight?"

Ellissanthia glanced up at the towering lupine, craning her neck as she did. A slight frown came over her lips at the implication of avoiding the water. Nevertheless, the Undine shook her head before jumping up onto Rieka’s back with a single graceful leap.

In that regard, it did not take long at all for Ellissanthia to situate herself astride the lupine’s back.

“Okay. I’m ready.” Ellissanthia nodded, gently tapping the lupine on the shoulder as she did.

Before she could say more, her body went weightless as Rieka went skyward in an explosive, powerful jump, compelling the Undine to hold on tight. And yet, for a moment she dared to look down, catching a brief glance of the water flowing beneath. At that point, Ellissanthia drew in a deep breath before closing her eyes.

And by the time she opened them, they were across.

“I...did.” Ellissanthia breathed. “I thought that we...” The Undine shook her head, then moved to climb down, jumping the last couple meters in the process. “Nevermind. It would have been a bad idea to swim anyways. We don’t know what could be in the water.” She said, her tone slightly dejected.

“Alright. Let’s keep moving then. We’re entering the pack’s territory.” She added. “It’s either we run into them or they run into us.”

They, being the invasive Skelmorn pack which prowled this section of the forest.
