Anyone looking for a villain?

Lark

Saint of the Damned
As I've developed Lark a bit further, I've started to recognize how complex a villain he has the potential to be. And as most of his threads have been committed to the Sith Empire, I was hoping to branch out a bit and thread with some peeps in different factions outside of invasions or skirmishes. If you're looking for a duel I would be more than happy to help anyone come up with a neat encounter, but I feel as though a different sort of conflict could be just as engaging. Something more psychological and personal, a thread that could have a heavy impact on a character's development.

If any character has flaws that they wish to be exploited and contested, I'd be happy to play some sort of antagonistic role. I can duel you or buy you a drink and have a nice chat (or both), I'm mainly looking to practice developing Lark's potential for monstrosities. That being said, I hope to make Lark a bit different than the typical villain. His motivations, goals, methods, and mindsets are not exactly typical. And of course, your own reactions would most certainly impact Lark as a character. There's a lot going on in his head, after all.

So if you're a Jedi, NIO soldier or any other faction that opposes the Sith Empire and would like to start some sort of rivalry, or if you're a drifter with a haunted past and need a malevolent influence, please let me know! I'd be happy to help! And again, this doesn't need to be a traditional sort of light against dark story. It can be a slow burn, perhaps you don't even realize Lark's true motivations until later. I'm looking to expand Lark's role as a villain and develop some nice character relationships along the way, so if you're looking for a villain please let me know!

Lark

Saint of the Damned
He's complicated because there are various personas raging within his mind, and he isn't sure which of those personas, if any, are the "real" him. He has done horrible things, including talking his own mother into committing suicide, manipulating fellow orphans into playing dangerous games, burning his hometown to the ground, and feeding the habits of drug addicts. On the flip side, another persona of his cares very much for his missing sister, and his main goal is to find some manner of everlasting peace. These various mindsets are at war within him, and for the moment I want to feed the more monstrous side.

But the more gentle part of him is still there. He is friendly and kind, his voice is tranquil and soft. He cares for his family and friends very much. A part of him is truly monstrous, but another part of him is completely amiable.

What do you think of this character? It'd be a little troublesome making them interact, she's usually around the Eternal Empire. I mainly see a few situations they'd actually meet:

Gonna put stuff in spoilers for your convenience:
1. In space or an inhabited planet (whether by sentients or not is mostly optional, she's there for species study not discussion with locals), on her science ship. I haven't finished her crew but it's almost done, so if they're relevant I can show you them. In this case she'd mainly just be doing research. Not sure exactly what you'd do aside from try and interfere lol. So uh, that's mostly just me throwing it out there.

2. On her planet Vran'Ti. You'd probably stick out as not local due to the language they speak. And while they act like they are any other species around outsiders, they pretty much consider them all inferior. They just refuse to show that. But they're pretty strict on when people break the rules. You could potentially get interaction if you met her more near the mountains, otherwise it'd probably be mostly discussion since Shavara doesn't have too many friends on the planet and mostly just tries too study.

3. Near Eternal Empire territory, or on Vran'Ti, but as Sar Vun. Sar Vun is the name she uses when working with the Eclipse rebellion. It holds a lot of historical significance to Vran'Ti people but pretty much nothing for the Eternal Empire. She basically tries to just help out where she can. She's fairly powerful and has some special items. But, if you want psychological stuff, then this might be a place we could work something out. Could maybe make up a small group of refugees or something from the empire that he might potentially screw up. Or, if he just happened to find her alone as Sar Vun, I guess he could try and screw with her disloyalty to the planets leader (basically a religious and governmental figure, almost considered infallible since they're supposed to speak for the world itself).

Some extra notes:
She's not super combat trained. Due to her strong force sensitivity, her shapeshifting, and her items, she would certainly make a dangerous opponent. But she'd heavily rely on those things.

She's not the most strongest mentally compared to some other character. She's not weak, but she's not a "I can withstand torture and any manipulation" type. So if he plays things correctly he could still screw with her. But because he's not one of her species, it could be more difficult. She's less racist (I guess is the right term) than most of her species, but it's still going to put in bias.

Another possibility is Salis but that depends on your character a lot more:
Second oldest character I have. But most threads probably. She loves combat and violence and is very good at it, unlike Shavara, she is both powerful and trained in it. Both with the force and with weapons. However. If you have some ideas you might have potential for more mental based stuff.

Salis is not easy to mess with mentally. She cares almost nothing for other people aside from for her own amusement. To her, people will do what they will do, and what she will do is get the most fun out of it. She has almost no comprehension of morality and next to no sympathy. She could at the drop of a hat stop fighting only because it got boring. She is still clever, so she can maximize her life. So she won't randomly kill people. (Hence why she's taken up mercenary/bounty hunter jobs after she left the jen'ari empire).

BUT. She ended up making friends, and then eventually marrying, a character she met in the Jen'ari who I wrote with for a long time. They had two daughters, one of whom managed to basically run away. That was during a time that Salis was a head of military of a minor faction on Bespin. Salis put a bounty to have her back alive and unharmed. She developed a sense of love for her husband and daughters. She's still far from normal, but it's one way to get at her emotions.

She currently is a Major in the Zweihander union so location would mostly be near them. If you want a fight, or just a strange discussion or something. Up to you.

part of why I think Salis might be more fun then Shavara is that it's much harder to endanger Salis physically once confronted. Fighting is basically her entire life. But she's begun to slowly lose her joy in fighting (which she recognized and is trying to find a solution to) and her love of her children has begun to sprout more actually human emotions. So she can feel conflict within herself for the first time.

Most of my other characters are either not really able to be tossed in, or wouldn't necessarily match well. I have an untrained nautolan force sensitive, who mostly is a hunter/warrior but who feels like he dries up fast out of water. However I want him on Glee Anselm until me and another writer do something.

I've seen you in a couple of TSE threads and you stood out in those. Nimdok probably fits into the "drifter with a haunted past" label, and like Lark he has identity issues (though it's more of a "split personality" sort of deal with him). I normally do archaeology threads, so if Lark has an interest in Jedi/Sith artifacts we could figure something out. Hmu if you are still looking for a writer.

Taji could use a "Joker-esque" villain as an enemy as "Archer" or something, if you're up for it.

Shavara Shavara

If we're talking Shavara, I definitely think the third option you listed seems the most viable. I do have some ideas for screwing up some refugee groups, if you think that might be a fun avenue to explore.

If we're talking Salis, I think it might be interesting to see this character with a history of violence deal with a threat to her new family, if you'd be comfortable doing something like that. Alternatively, Lark could try to reignite her love for violence, and perhaps try and distance her from her children on an emotional level.

It's up to you! Lemme know which character you'd prefer to write with, and we can work out the details before we start anything.

Jacen Nimdok Jacen Nimdok

This could be really fun, Lark has done his own fair share of archaeology and spelunking for Sith artifacts in the past. And the two souls in one body thing could be super fun to explore, perhaps if we do decide to delve into that Lark might have a new way of viewing the various personas within his own head. Perhaps they initially are working together on a dig crew, and we can take it from there? In this case I think I'd prefer to keep the fact that Lark is a Sith secret, at least at first.

Lunafreya Solidor Lunafreya Solidor

A budding rivalry could be fun, especially since it seems that the NIO and TSE are queued up for a number of encounters in the future. I'm game! I'd also be keen to thread with your Jedi, haven't had the chance to thread with them that much outside of invasions. Could be some cool character growth for both of us.

I'd be happy to! I will say, Lark isn't necessarily as chaotic as the Joker is. He rarely comes across as evil or even outwardly hostile initially, there's more somberness than madness within him (although he certainly has plenty of that in him). If you had any ideas in mind, let me know and we can totally work on making something happen!

Also, for everyone, please feel free to hit me up on Discord if you'd like! Might make planning things a tad bit easier, so at least we're not flying blind. My Discord is Patar#7084, I'm in the General SWRP and TSE channels. I also hope to make this less a clear-cut good vs. evil deal, although elements of that are sure to seep in due to the nature of our characters. I'm mainly doing this to test out how Lark responds to the people he's interacting with, and that might change depending on which persona takes hold. Thank you all for expressing interest!
