Long ago he'd met a Jedi on his homeworld that had told him that the truth of the galaxy was that all beings were corrupt. That same Jedi had told him that if he ever wanted to learn, he needed to seek out all branches of the Force. Shakrin had found the Jedi to be wise beyond the bounds of his Order. Perhaps it was the bounds of his Order that had enlightened him to the true nature of the galaxy. He'd never gotten the chance to ask the man since he had dies shortly after making the lone revelation. Shakrin had taken up the mans blade and killed those that had killed him, and then buried the weapon with its creator. It had seem fitting.
Now, many years after that, he set foot on Tython. The world was ancient in terms of the Force and its presence there. The Jedi were supposed to be bastions of light, but every book he'd read had exposed at least some form of corruption within their system. He wasn't overly eager to be subject to it. At the same time, he didn't plan to subjugate himself to anyone. If he was going to learn, it was going to have to be on his terms. He didn't care how powerful the Jedi were. He'd rather them beat him senseless than allow one of them to command him. It was going to make things really interesting.
A temple loomed before him and he started toward it. Might as well get the show on the road, as they say.
