Anoat Aftermath

Departing Anoat System

Soft footfalls reverberated lightly down the corridor. From behind the featureless black mask adorning his face, the large Ren swept swiftly down the corridors of the capital ship. He'd just finished delivering a very brief report to the Supreme Commander. Following that, he had decided to further investigate the sudden appearance of a family member within the First Order. Caid had retreated to the far reaches of the Outer Rim, yet it seemed it had not been far enough. To be certain, he was not ashamed of his family. However, he held little real interest in living their specific way of life. More than that, he didn't exact idolize his grandmother like the rest. His interactions with her had been so much different, though. Petra Cavataio wasn't exactly the most...loving grandmother in the galaxy. He didn't blame her with how many of them existed.

Turning down an adjacent corridor, Caid stepped past the two troopers standing sentry without so much as an acknowledgment to their presence. In a matter of moments, he'd arrived at the stateroom records indicated had been somewhat recently assigned to a Knight of Ren. It wasn't his room, and the closer he got, the more intense the feeling of [member="Gemma Cavataio"]'s presence brushing against his own became. He presumed that knocking was unnecessary as he waited silently at the door.

In the middle of the assigned room, the dark skinned Witch sat on the floor concentrating. Everyday, she worked at her Sense a little more, wanting to reach further in. Her ultimate goal was to be able to slip into the Force and have no bounds to where she can let her mind reach, to be able to feel everything and everyone. For now, she could go only so far. Gemma was getting better except when there was a distraction not to far. He was coming to her, the woman sensed the nearing presence of her younger brother Caid.

A small smile appeared to her, remembering for a moment the first time she'd used this power when Pa'tre had arrived. Just like then, Gemma remained focused, watching him essence like a glowing light in her mind growing nearer and nearest. Just like she had done then. Difference was however, she wouldn't run into his arms and proudly proclaim what she'd learned once they were face to face. Caid was not Pa'tre after all and she was not a small child.

Finally, he arrived to the doors and she rose to her feet slowly. No knock, no voice. Gemma knew exactly what he'd intended on, as she walked a few steps towards the doors before her vision zeroes on the panel to the side, letting the Force push the button on it. The doors slid to the side, opening for Caid then.

"Ho’hahe, sun’kaku," she said, giving a small gesture with her hand for him to come in. Gemma didn't think on whether or not Caid was familiar with their mother tongue, it simply was to her and sometimes, it was just natural to speak it, even for a short while to honor their roots. Even if those roots had betrayed her and made her do something she'd never thought of doing - leaving Dathomir and joining another faction.

Caid gazed silently at Gemma from behind the concealment of his mask once the door opened. He heard the words she spoke. Paecian. A language he knew fluently...his primary language in fact. However, he did not generally engage in speaking it, and he did not exactly elect to break from that now. "Thank you..." It was all still a little bit surreal to call the woman sister.

Stepping forward, Caid allowed the door to close behind him. Casually, he reached up and removed the featureless black helmet from his head. Cradling it under his left arm, the young Centurion allowed his silver-green gaze to focus on Gemma. Inhaling steadily, he fixed the woman with an expression that was rather similar to the one typically worn by their father. "So..." With the helmet gone, there was no metallic edge to his deep voice. In contrast, it sounded rather warm and soothing. "Which of my mother's sisters did our father elect to seduce? And when?"

Sure. Perhaps it was a rather natural way for his mother's family, but he not been raised among much of that reality. A great many of them were dead by the time Caid had been born.

Gemma noted her brother's choice of language when he answered her, leaving a small note in her head for future purposes. It read something as understood, does not choose before she smiled. The metal doors closed behind him, though Gemma kept looking at the younger Centurion as he removed his helmet.

It allowed the woman to take a better look at him. He reminded her of Pa'tre now, his eyes belonging to him same as hers. There were certainly similarities though not as, which she recalled had a play with his other side. It had been a long time since she'd seen his mother though so she drew the conclusion from old memories.

He didn't know which Cavataio was her mother, Gemma took in from his question. Or the time. So, he knew nothing of her existence, she realized and smiled.

"Lauda Cavataio. Third of Nona's Dathomirian children," Gemma explained, knowledgeable in the order. Nona was always focused on making the separation. Children of the Sith, children of Dathomir, children of the Cult. Children born out of her love with Anna Sachae were a special group. However, right now, she left out so many details. If Caid was curious to know the line, Gemma could recite it with ease, but not unless asked for it.

"As for the when...," she paused for a second and moved to the side, picking up a pitch and pouring herself some water. "Pa'tre was forty and my Ma'dri was twenty one. I am the firstborn of both," Gemma spoke with pride on the matter before she picked up her glass and drank the clear liquid for a few sips before putting down the empty glass and looking back at him.

Caid was silent for several moments. His mind quickly worked out the math in his head. As of late, he'd learned a great deal about their father's past. A past he was quickly realizing that [member="Gemma Cavataio"] had lived through. "Aunt Lauda..."

A part of Caid was completely unsurprised. Lauda was easily the most attractive of his aunts, including his mother's twin. Further more, Caid was rather unsurprised to find that a young Lauda had engaged the attention of a young Cameron. No doubt his experience in the galaxy and power had granted her some level of attraction...much the same as his own mother.

"You were conceived shortly after he had killed Alathor, then. Has he always been an arrogant manwhore?" There was no disguising the bitterness in Caid's voice. His eyes, however, remained innately focused on Gemma. In the confines of her room, absent masks and cloaks, he could honestly admit silently to himself that Gemma certainly did carry the trait practically all of the Cavataio women did.

Beauty beyond that of which could be readily found in most of the Galaxy.

Gemma allowed for Caid to process what she was telling him, seeing as they'd only just met. She knew of him but he knew nothing of her. That wasn't that foreign of a occurrence in their family, to be perfectly honest. He named her mother, as he referred to her and all she did was continue to watch him.

Then at last, he commented the murder o Alathor. Gemma nodded, brushing off ancient history that didn't need recalling. It was something Pa'tre had to do, and something Alathor deserved whereas he did not deserve a proper title most ancestors were given. Even they needed to earn their place.

It was however what he had said later that made Gemma smirk. Had Pa'tre been as arrogant of a manwhore as he was now. "Is this the Pa'tre you know, brother?" Yes, yes, she new Pa'tre had changed through the years. This happened but nothing in the words arrogant or manwhore rang to the Cameron Centurion that raised her. "Because my Pa'tre was neither of those things, quite the opposite actually." Ma'dri had even made an off comment once, not to her directly but to herself, that though Nono had been present in her own life, Cameron seemed to come a whole lot more to her, and it had surprised her. Gemma didn't understand what she meant, of course, as he could not compare neither Pa'tre to Nono or Pa'tre before she was born.

"What is this arrogant manwhore you speak of like?" She was curious though, how it was that Caid saw their Pa'tre. Curious to find out what he was like now. It didn't ultimately matter, he was her Pa'tre despite it but she wasn't a child anymore, she didn't make believe people didn't change. Everyone either had a destiny to follow or built theirs.
