Strengths:
  • Generalist. The Annihilator is an all-purpose cruiser. It is equipped with a variety of weapons and defences to combat a variety of foes.
  • Arcs. The Annihilator can target enemies in any direction except with its heavy launchers which are fixed forward.
Weaknesses:
  • Firepower. The Annihilator lacks long ranged weapons and heavy ship-killers. It is a jack of all trades but master of none.
  • Hanger. The Annihilator lacks a hanger and has relatively few defence guns. It needs support from flak ships and fighters.
Description:
The Annihilator is an unusual ship for the Contingency. It lacks the specialised heavy weapons of the larger assault ships or the hanger of the bigger carriers.
Instead, the Annihilator is designed to engage enemy corvettes, frigates and cruisers, prevent them from ganging up or getting behind the slower battleships. To this end it’s well equipped to face enemy ships the same and smaller size than it, however it needs to watch out for enemy destroyers or bombers at both ends of the size spectrum.
