Staff Annihilation Aftermath

Greetings all,

We've just come out of the latest annihilation and in the aftermath have decided on a few changes that we wanted to inform you all about.

1) The fate of the Wrath of God Mandate.​

After seeing the wrath of god mandate used on the board we've realised that, while a good idea, the mandate is too unwieldy and similar to previous mandates. As such, we have decided to remove the mandate from the active list as of today.​

2) Annihilation lengths​

The currents rules state that:​

3. The attacking faction may determine the length of the thread if there is no defending faction; otherwise, all parties must agree.

We have decided to alter this rule slightly, to put a limit on the annihilation length and more clearly lay out what is expected of the factions involved. It now reads:​

3. Annihilations will run for a maximum of three weeks. If all factions involved in the annihilation wish to extend it they may reach out to the overseeing Administrator to request an extension to a month. This extension must be requested before the Annihilation starts and the annihilation's running time must be made clear in the opening post of the OOC thread.

We also wish to remind the board that the annual moratorium will be in place between December 1 2025 and January 7 2025. As always, during this time, there will be no Invasions or Annihilations launched. The Factory and the Codex will also be shut down during the moratorium to give the volunteer judges a break over the holiday season.

as for the factory thing. will items already in teh factory listing be approved before the factory shut down or if they are still in there by the time it happens will they simply be put on hold

Big fan of the 3 week Annihilation ruling. I feel like for threads that get to the absolutely overwhelming size that they do, that extra week can lead to a lot of confusion and even burnout as people try to stretch their narratives. Excited to see in the future how that affects things

The factory runs on a system of approved unless you're told otherwise, so anything you post is treated as approved, we may clear the factory, and will try to, but this is the one holiday that hte judges get in a year so I'm not going to require anything.
