Anhora Armlet on its charging base

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Whenever the armlet is closed around the appendage of a biological being, or integrated into a being's armor system, the bioscanner contained within the armlet begins to constantly monitor the wearer's vital signs. If the wearer becomes severely injured, a signal from the bioscanner is sent to the inbuilt matter transmitter to automatically create a transmat field around the subject that teleports or recalls the wearer to a designated receiver or anchor circle generally contained within a base's medical wing or an orbiting starship's medical bay. The wearer can also manually trigger the transmat field through a command from their HUD if wearing a helmet or double tapping a button on the armlet's side.
STRENGTHS
  • Allows the wearer, if severely injured or in need of an emergency evacuation such as in the case of their position being overrun, to have a one-way teleport to a designated synced anchor circle within their base or an orbiting starship. Even if a wearer is killed while wearing the device, the bioscanner will still send the signal and transport the body back for processing and easy recovery.
WEAKNESSES
  • As the teleport is one-way, if the wearer leaves behind equipment or comrades, they can't go back to that location through the Anhora. They would have to go back in traditional means.
  • The armlet can only maintain a synced connection to its designated anchor circle as long as it remains either on planet, or at most, an orbiting starship. The armlet can't sync with devices beyond that, making a teleport across even a star system impossible with the current device.

Anhora Anchor Circle within a medical bay

DESCRIPTION

As Aurora Industries continued its research into teleportation technologies on a larger scale for its starships, development on smaller devices that could be utilized by individuals within Project Tezzeret had begun under the direction of Lady Raaf and COO Sellek. The initial idea was a device that could be used on a battlefield, considering the increasing number of conflicts and battles erupting across the galaxy, and while the offensive capabilities for such a device were being considered, the development team first started work on device to assist with medical evacuations. The thought from the design team at Nightshade Station was that a device worn by a soldier could detect life threatening or severe enough injuries that would impede their ability to fight and then transport that wounded soldier back to a designated receiver pad within a medical facility at an allied base or starship for treatment. The idea intrigued both Lady Raaf and COO Sellek as it would mean fewer battlefield fatalities and improve morale if a soldier or field operative knew that they had a greater chance of survival.

From this initial decision and idea, the Anhora Recall Armlet and Anchor Circles were born. The armlet, not dissimilar to the design of the Aredian Armlet used for Force suppression, makes use of a bioscanner to monitor the wearer's vital signs while being synced to the Anchor Circle within the wearer's base or assigned starship. If the bioscanner detects a drop in those vital signs that would suggest severe or life-threatening injury, a signal is sent to the integrated matter transmitter to release the small phantom energy cell contained within it to create a transmat field around the wearer. In a flash of light, the wearer would be teleported back to the synced Anchor Circle for treatment, or if they had died from their injury recovery of the body for processing.

I'll be taking over this submission.

Teleportation, in both Star Wars, and on the board, by even the canon links you've provided, is from portal to portal. The teleportation you envisage here is much more akin to the teleportation you might find in Star Trek than in Star Wars, and is not really within the spirit of Star Wars.

As such I'm going to deny this submission. You are more than welcome to resubmit it if you feel you can rewrite the submission to be more akin to Star Wars style teleportation.
