OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Andronius War Boar
  • Designation: Semi-Sentient
  • Origins: Industrial World of Spindle VI
  • Average Lifespan: 70 to 130 Standard Years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: The Andronius War Boar is a large animal native to the Industrial World of Spindle VI. The War Boar is covered in thick leathery skin that is as tough as armor and provides extreme protection to the boar when in combat. Two sets of large tusk protrude from its mouth that can be used as an effective weapon against any hunters that might attempt to slay it. Long shaggy hair covers much of the boar save for the underside near the mating organs. Hooved feet allows it to climb any terrain that it comes across as a trait to escape predators.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 2.74 Meters (9 feet)
  • Average Length of Adults: 2.14 Meters (7 feet)
  • Skin color: Tan
  • Hair color: Brown (Various Colorations of Brown)
  • Distinctions: Male War Boars are larger and heavier than the females of the species. The male of the species also have a large mane running down the back of them that allows them to attract a mate depending on size of mane. The females of the species have shorter tusk than there male counterparts. The young are typically smaller than the males or females of the species, and have less thick leathery hide than adults that makes them prey to larger animals or even members of their own kind. The older generation of the species have significantly larger tusk than either the male or the female of the species.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
  • Great Devourer: Having a unique trait of Omnivore. The Andronius War Boar comes equipped with powerful teeth and an iron stomach that allows it to process and consume almost anything that it comes into contact with. Allowing it to sustain itself on any world that it comes across and has a less chance of population decrease due to food shortages. Due in part to the trait, the boar is granted immunity to poison from their homeworld due to having a perfected system of Mithridatism (the practice of self administrating non lethal amounts to develop immunity) which has been gradually done over a long period of time. The second part of the trait is that they have developed a specialized organ below the heart that filters the harmful molecules of the poison.
  • Thick Armored Hide: The Andronius War Boar comes equipped with thick leathery hair that acts as extremely good armor, with thick hide underneath the hair acts as a secondary armor to make the boar a powerful opponent to deal with in open combat. This allows it to tank intense amounts of damage from energy weaponry and projectile weaponry that tries to down it.
  • Gate Crasher: The Andronius War Boar has a thick skull that allows it to ram into vehicles and other people with immense force without intensive injury to the boar itself. Nicknamed the 'Gate Crasher' for having enough force per square inch to smash through a fortified gate with enough charge speed. This makes it useful in assisting with sieges and bashing down enemy position's, and allowing it to stand up to extremely armored opponents on the battlefield because of this ramming attack.
  • Terrain Master: The Andronius War Boar's unique hooves allow it to climb onto anything in its environment except for a straight vertical surface. Making it useful for scouting parties and enemy armies because the terrain advantage that their opponent has will disappear enough to level the playing field. This trait also helps it escape from opponents and predators because it can climb steep terrain that they can't without assistance.
  • Tusk Gore: The Andronius War Boar comes equipped with two sets of sharp tusk that allows it to fight off opponents and helps it ram into people or objects that try to get in its way. Lowering the tusk into a charge motion, allows it to impale opponents with light to medium armor or natural predators in the wild. But will have difficulty penetrating heavy armor unless the boar is already in a quick charge momentum allowing it the speed to smash through the armor.
Weaknesses:
  • Slow Speed: The Andronius War Boar does have an impressive charge speed, but that takes a while to build up. Normally they are extremely slow moving animals that can't run away from faster opponents or predators that have come to devoured it. This makes it vulnerable to fast infantry units or speeders that can run circles around it without worrying about the animal hitting it.
  • Certain Elements: The Andronius War Boar is extremely protected by its hide, but the boar does have a weakness that can be exploited. It is extremely weak to fire and lightning as those can kill the beast in a matter of minutes depending on the flames or the intense heat of the lightning strike. Low Powered Force Lightning will effect it less than Fully Powered Lightning does as full power will instantly kill the beast. Its hair is flammable to an extent which makes it useful for lightning candles and other tools that require a flammable material.
  • Unprotected Eyes: The Andronius War Boar is a fearsome creature, but they have unprotected eyes that are vulnerable to stabs or lightsaber strikes. Allowing the opponent the opportunity to blind the creature or outright kill it through a direct hit to its eye that will overload the brain with pain signals. However the weakness might have an unexplored strength because the beast will become more enraged and thrash at everything, making it more dangerous for the hunter to get in close to finish the brute off.
  • Berserker: The Andronius War Boar is a wild animal after all, it sometimes devolves into a berserker state which translates to feral mode. This mode makes them extremely dangerous to the enemy's armies but will also make them a danger to the allied forces as well. As within this mode the beast loses all sense of control and will violently smash and bash through friend or foe alike on the battlefield. Making them a dangerous asset to bring to the battlefield.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore. The Andronius War Boar's unique stomach allows it to devour anything that can be considered food in order to survive. But there most common preferences is digging for tree roots and forging for food with their snouts in the ground. Such as tree branches and wild fruit that often inhabits the forest of Spindle VI. On the meat side, the common preference is small lizards and other animals that will not pose a challenge to them, however if pressed into combat they will devour the predator on the other end. Nothing is poisonous to them because of their unique stomach structure that breaks down anything that enters into their systems. Over a long period of evolution the war boar has developed a perfected system of Mithridatism (the self administrating of non lethal doses to induce immunity) that allows it to have immunity to poisons from their homeworld. As an evolutionary bonus they have developed a specialized organ below the heart that filters the harmful molecules of foreign poisons.
  • Communication: The Andronius War Boar communicates with each other through a series of snorts and low grunts that mean different things depending on the variation of the grunt itself. During the mating season, the female war boar will make a distant grunt that will attract any males in the area. These grunts can also be used to warn rivals away from a potential mate with the older generation of boars having a deeper sounding grunt compared to the younger adults.
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: The Andronius War Boar usually live in herds of about 14 with the biggest and strongest of the male boars leading the herd to the next area of grazing and forging. These alpha boars dominate the females and only his seed is passed around to the females to spawn his next generation. Only a few of the male boar offspring will be allow to stay within the herd to act as a defense against predators and rival herds within the Spindle VI Forest. The rest of the male boar offspring will be kicked out to start their own herd or live in isolation from the rest of their species. The males of the species will go out and look for food, as well as defending the herd from rivals, while the females of the species will stay behind and nurse the offspring and other young that can't defend for themselves yet. The oldest boar within the herd will be the boss of everyone within it unless he is challenge for the position by another younger boar that is looking to take over the leadership of a herd through brute force instead of trying to form his own. The winner of the duel will be the head of the herd, which is more often than not the oldest boar due to having more experience and more size compared to younger boars. During the mating season, the female boars will make a grunt that alerts the biggest and strongest boar that it is time, and they will have the first pick of the female boars within the tribe and then leave the rest of the females for the other males within to fight over. The females only want the biggest and strongest boars to have offspring with and many less fortune boars find their genes phazed out of the pool for someone else and many of them are killed due to going after the same female as another person.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Andronius War Boar evolved on the Industrial World of Spindle VI in the primitive age of the planet. The nomadic people of Spindle Vi before the introduction of technology would often ride smaller versions of these boars into battle with neighboring tribes that they had a dispute in. With their natural armor and ruthlessness on the battlefield, the nomadic people would breed vast herds of these beast to act as beast of burdens when not on the battlefield. This early breeding program would squash the weak genomes of the species as the nomadic people would only want the best and strongest of the smaller boar versions to have within the tribe to mate with the early females. The unfortunate boars would be killed and sacrificed to the nomadic gods in a grand ritual that was to signify their devotion to the sky pantheon otherwise known as the sky fathers. With newer technology and more primitive techniques being phased out with the passing of time, the size and scale of the boars would increase with each new selective breeding program. Allowing them to develop into fearsome war beast that were hard to control but made for effective early shock cavalry in the age of no technology on the world. With the arrival of technology through the Pius Dea Republic that established an outpost on the world for their crusades against the Ancient Hutt Empire and the other alien species within the galaxy.

The need for the war boars become significantly less and less as they simply couldn't keep up with the improved firepower of early blasters and slugthrowers that could penetrate their hide with ease. The once great herds that the nomadic people had brought into existence through breeding now where taking up too much space and consuming much of the food that the populace needed to survive. The only solution was to kill a large number of them and send the rest of them into the vast forest on the other side of the planet where they could evolve and survive without the need of human intervention. Of course to prevent a rapid expansion of the population again, new predators were introduced into the forest and the number of war boars stabilized. However due to the constant breeding beforehand, only the strongest of the genomes were left to interbreed with each other and eventually evolved into the war boars of today that are stronger and mightier than their ancient cousins. Now in the current time, they have a rapidly expanding population due to killing and feasting upon the corpses of predators that the herds have managed to kill in defense. As such the Governance Commission is giving licenses to kill some of the population by any means necessary in order to prevent a overwhelming horde descending upon the people. And boar meat is considered a delightful delicacy on the planet due to the abundance of it and the various uses that it has in cooking.

This is a really nicely detailed sub, well fleshed-out. I have just one thing I want to ask about before I approve this.

Under Diet, you note that the boar is immune to all ingested poisons because its stomach breaks everything down. That's kind of what all stomachs do, though; break down food. I'd like to ask for two things here. First, add the poison immunity to the Great Devourer strength, making it explicit (because that's a pretty powerful strength). Second, give me a little more explanation about how that works. Does it have a special organ that filters harmful molecules? Special digestive acids that neutralize harmful molecules in some way? You don't have to write a biology textbook or anything, just give me another sentence or two of detail / explanation.

Mithridatism could explain immunity to poisons from their homeworld, but not immunity to all poisons, since it would only work on poisons they have been able to slowly build up a tolerance to. If it's a new poison they've ever encountered before, like something from offworld, they would have no resistance to it at first. If you want to keep the mithridatism explanation, please note in the Strengths and Diet sections that they are only immune to poisons from their homeworld, but they can rapidly build up immunity to other poisons.

Should be fixed now. Using the Mithridatism for poisons from there homeworld due to it being an industrial world. While having a specialized organ below the heart that allows them to filter harmful molecules of foreign poisons.
