Thalen thrust his hand out for a moment to use the Force. It wasn't in an attempt to protect himself, no. He was forming a barrier around the detonation disc to make sure at least some of the impact was controlled. Even as the plasma blasts blurred past him, Thalen kept the same smile on his face. It didn't falter for a moment, even though there was no warmth to it.
Yet he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the one approaching him, taking in the armour for a moment as his crystal eye glimmered for a moment. And then the Revenant said something that caused Thalen to let out a soft chuckle. There was no warmth to it however, and if anything it sounded more hollow than anything as Thalen kept his hands up. He wasn't making for a weapon, because...he didn't have one. He just had his hands. And that was good enough for me.
"You misunderstand. I am no Jedi, nor can I feel Joy. I am simply a Tool. Commanded by the Will of the Force. I am what it needs me to be."
As he spoke, Thalen continued to move through the Plaza, twirling and twisting himself as if he was just a breeze on the wind, a leaf curling and twisting with the plasma bolts. Some might complain that the numbers were unfair, but for Thalen? He was enjoying this. He could have been saving his energy and dodge the bolts at the last moment...but he had an audience. And so he felt as if he must put on a show for them.
"And for today, the Force has deemed that I shall be a sword for it today. A sword of justice. Not used for anger. Or for revenge. But for the innocent."
With that, Thalen fell into his Matukai stance. It appeared the lessons he had been given by his tutors were going to come in handy. Sure, a lightsaber or some form of weapon would have been far more useful for this fight, but as he said. Today? He was the weapon.
