Suggestion An Adoptable Forum?

This kind of already works in the LFG, so I understand if nobody agrees we should have it. Sometimes, though, when people post an adoptable character, it gets buried.

If there were a forum where people could put up profiles of characters that other writers could adopt, like family members or antagonists, or something needed for that writer's story. Then, when someone is looking for a new character or a new story, they could browse and see if anything sparks interest.

was not sure who to tag about this suggestion.
People are free to put a tag in their character bio and even put it in the name of the character if they wish. We will not be doing a thread flair at the current moment.

How do you envisage this working though? If someone wants to adopt a character how do you expect that to work between different writers? We do not and cannot move sub accounts to different writer profiles.

Your best move is to use the LFG forum with a tag in the post, or to post a blog with your concept and allow someone to take it.

I was thinking like you'd throw up a bio in the LFG forum with the tag "adoptable" or something and then people could copy that post and put up a bio themselves.

You don't make the subaccount. The new writer does.

But I completely understand that now is not the right time for it. Thank you for reading and considering!

The way it works in my other place is I post a name, brief description, maybe a face suggestion, why I want them, who they are to me and other possible connections. Someone else then "applys" takes the adaptable and makes a new account for them to said specifications.

There is usually a caveat that "if you stop writing the character i reserve the right to re-advertise the role"
