Animus was irritated. Granted he was almost always irritated at one thing or another, this galaxy was good at creating annoyances. Today however was much irritating than usual. The main reason being his ship had crashed. It had been an old freighter, nearly three decades old and in bad shape but at the time it had been all Animus could secure. He had just come from an assassination contract on Empress Teta when his original escape ship had been blown up by an opportunistic young soldier. The said soldiers blood had quickly graced the wreckage, but by then Animus had to get moving. He had stolen the only other available ship.
He had been pursued from the system by several starfighters and escort craft, taking heavy damage before finally jumping to hyperspace. He had to rewrite and override many of the warnings to ensure he could jump to safety. He had exited hyperspace a few hours ago at the edge of the Ambria system when his drive decided it had enough. The explosion had thrown Animus and everything else in the ship around wildly as it careened into the upper atmosphere of Ambria. Just before impact Animus had cut his way out of the side of the craft, using the force to hurl himself away from the ensuing fireball and land mostly unharmed nearly a kilometer away. He had broken a leg, but some quick work and force energy had stabilized it well enough for now. He had to get to the Temple before he could fully heal.
Mind set, Animus turned away from the burning wreck, and began to long march towards the Temple of Naath.
