  • Sonic Damage

  • Advanced computer system to modulate beam frequency
x8Xhl6.gif

  • Deals Sonic Damage, by causing vibrations when it contacts shields and objects

  • Small enough to be placed on fighters and ground vehicles.

  • Highly effective against smaller craft/vehicles, such as missiles, fighters, bombers, shuttles, and speeders/walkers. (It fires fast with a wide attack radius if something crosses the beam)

  • Effective range limited due to compact design.

  • More susceptible to EMP attacks due to sophisticated computer systems.

  • Less effective against larger craft such as freighters, corvettes etc due to a lower power output.

Sounds work by causing vibrations through a medium. Sonic weapons work in this same principle, but usually are restricted in effectiveness if they lack a medium such as air to work through. However, the PCVB Cannon works on a similar simple principle. A cohesive beam of energy is fired at a target, when it hits shields, armor, hull, or just objects, the beam's frequency begins to fluctuate, which causes vibrations in the target. The advanced computer system monitors the beam, and changes the frequency to cause resonance, to attempt to shake the object apart. This makes it effective against shields, armor, hull, and so much more.

The weapons fire a solid beam, that hits the target, and so long as that solid beam is hitting, it causes continual damage. Few materials can stand up for long against this type of treatment.

The Alpha version is the smallest, most basic form of this weapon. The design of the weapon makes it much more effective against smaller targets, such as fighters, missiles, bombers, shuttles, and many types of walkers, speeders and the like. However, due to its limited power output, it's far less effective against larger ships, such as freighters, corvettes and the like.

This weapon is the base design, for a large number of higher powered forms.
