Alone on the Plains (Isolder Arterius)

Isolder considered the challenge. He was not one to shy away from the fighting, it went against his nature. However, he was extremely new to the Jedi and Sith way of combat. He understood most of the concepts, just had very little time to actually use them in actual duels. He had, however, impressed those at The Sith Council with his natural lightsaber skills, so it nothing else, it would be good practice for him.

"Sure. A duel sounds good." It was short and concise, but Isolder was ready that if they were going to fight, he wanted to get it started.

"Good..." In a moment she extended her legs to their full length and jumped back a ways, landing softly, as if weighing nothing more than a feather. She breathed in and stretched her arms before removing the overcloak with the hood, leaving her in the white robes that now drapped over her form and took from her side a Holocron that had been there the whole time and was just out of view. Placing the Holocron down gingerly on the cloak Alexandra now distanced herself a bit from the two items and took the twin sabers she possessed in hand, but left them unignited as she crossed her arms behind her. A smile back on her face she spoke calmly and cheerfully at the same time. "After you..." @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder slowly let his hand fall to his side. He had not constructed his own lightsaber, so he had no attachment with it. His master had given him one of the faction's blades to take on missions until he reached the point in training when he created his own. This blade had a reinforced plating, Isolder had requested this because of the strain his form, Djem So, placed on the hilt.

His blade shot out of the hilt, lighting a crimson blade and shined against the open field. Isolder was calm, but he had taught himself to use his emotions to access in battle, so they began as if they swirled around his stomach. He lunged forward at the woman, making a hard swipe to her right side, bringing all of his power to the attack. He intended to jump to the offensive and keep it that way.

Alexandra smiled and let her fear overcome her in and instant as she ignited her blades and trapped his strike in between her two blades as they crossed into the form of an X. She didnt look worried, infact she looked happy and calm at the same time, yet her fear fell off her in waves, but this fear was wild, unfocused on anything, enticing the Sith to feed on it, to use it. Alexandra wanted him to feed on it, she wanted him to become drunk on it like Sith do, just so that she could center herself and rip that fear from them. If he did start to feed on the fear she would notice, and ripping it from him will be all the more fun.

But even if he didnt, that fear mixed with devotion, desperation, glee, and several other emotions. She didnt let the emotions be restricted, no her emotions fell off her in waves as it crept from her and was noticeable to even those with absolutely no training in sensing. It would be intoxicating to the sith. Meanwhile her arms worked on their own, pushing her blades down the length of him, which would force him to drop the saber or back up less he lose a finger, which he did either she assumed a Makashi stance, while planting her feet to show she would not be on the offensive any time soon. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder knew he was outclassed, but that wouldn't change anything. He had to fight if he wanted answers, plus he would never improve and become the warrior he wanted to be if he didn't have experience. So, as they fought, the woman's blades slid down his own, forcing Isolder back. While he did, he noticed that his opponent had dropped in the Makashi form. He had read the concepts of Makashi, but little else, only having seen two holovids of the form. He did know that his own form exerted a great deal of physicalness, something that Makashi would use to it's advantage. But Isolder had no other option, because he was unfamiliar with other forms, even more so than Djem So. As such, he continued his attack. He brought down a powerful strike, which Alexandra was able to swat away while elegantly side stepping. Spinning, he swung his blade with a great force of momentum. The woman brought up her blade to block it, though the sheer power behind it caused her to think quickly and move back a step so that she could swing her blade down and spin Isolder's away.

He continued to attack, keeping his attacks powerful and strong. If he had any chance against Makashi, it would have to been simply in raw power overtaking the elegant form. As such, he reached out, sensing emotions of fear pouring out of Alexandra like sweat. He could feel it, almost taste it on his tongue. He used this to bring even more force behind each blow he threw.

Alexandra smiled, she knew that this man would be a new challenge, and oh how she was right. She had never fought such a style before, but she knew very well what kind of style that it was. Now all he had to do was continue to feed of her emotions, with each power strike she let her fear spike, a treat for the man, a perfect meal of energy that he would be hard to resist knowing that he is a Sith. Her movements were minimal and smooth, her stance controlled and elegant. But on the defensive none the less, her strategy was simply to tire him out while he spent his physical strength then began to rely on his force powers alone. She would need to do something quick though to help with the path and with a motion of her hands, both extending out to the man she send a concentrated wave of force energy at the man's chest, hoping to send him head over heals. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

With his limited understand of the Force, Isolder could do nothing against the oncoming burst of Force power. So, he went flying backwards, flipping over and landing hard on his chest. This was not shaping up well for him. He was in excellent physical condition, so he wasn't tired, but he wouldn't be able to fight at full strength and not get worn out quickly. However, he had no other options at the moment. So, he pressed on with his attack. Rising from the ground, he brought his blade up, trying to make a cut up the middle to break through her defenses. The woman was talented though and knocked away his blade, keeping her own ready to deflect his next attack. Isolder's mind raced as he thought of a way to switch attacking styles and strategy, but he was so new to the world of Force users, that he had limited skill. Between in the heat of battle, the constant rising of his emotions, and his lack of skill made it next to impossible.

Alexandra breathed in, Telekinesis and Telepathy were her strong points, but it still left her drained doing something with such a concentrated burst of energy no matter how focused she was. Her hands shot back, blades igniting again before she channeled the force into her legs and shot forward into a sprint, the augmentation would make her faster, reaching her target in two seconds less than would have been done. To most that two second difference is nothing, but with her Makashi style, she focused on quick elegant strikes, and this split second burst of speed would be all the more enticing of a challenge for the Sith Aspirant, the problem was though that it left her unbalanced going even that split second faster so if her low strike missed she would be left defenseless for a moment or two. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder watched the woman come racing at him like the wind and only had a moment to react. He could feel emotions moving at her like the speed she just displayed. It moved through Isolder like nothing he had ever felt. Finally, the woman threw a strike down low at Isolder, he had only a moment to jump out and away from the attack before being cut down. This, however, gave Isolder a moment for a strike. Rather than the slow, but powerful slugs he had been throwing her way, he tried a quick, almost formless jab into her torso. The change of quickness may have taken Alexandra by surprise given the way Isolder had been stuck in his fight, but the sloppiness of the attack with no focus allowed her enough time to roll down and under the crimson blade.

Isolder knew that unless he tried something else, he had no chance. So, even though he had only begun to the learn about the Force, he felt like the emotions that Alexandra had been throwing about would given him some type of push. Push. Which gave him a hit or miss idea. He let everything that swirled around him, the emotional force that radiated between them, and focused it into a single point into his hand. So, that when Alexandra rose from the ground from her roll, he unleashed his own push with the Force towards her, unsure if he would be strong enough that it would work or not.

OOC: Sorry. Computer problems, but they have been fixed.

Work it did as it caught her right in the chest and send her flying off her feet onto the ground, landing hard as the wind was knocked from her and a pain ran up and down her spine, even worse was that the quick jab hadnt fully missed but seared her side a bit as had rolled away. The wound was now fully apparent as she lay there, unmoving and prone for a few moments, feigning unconsciousness to recover and see what he did in response to a seemingly defenseless target. She fully expected a straight forward attack on her, probably him trying to impale her, but it was worth giving him the chance to not make such a mistake. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder knew that there was no way someone with his limited capability with the Force would have been able to take out someone like Alexandra with such ease, so he was weary of her defeat. On the other hand, the animal inside Isolder was begging to be able to go attack and finish her off. It was like there was something inside of him smelling blood and wanting to pounce. He was conflicted, the emotions he so leaned on in battle and his mind and instinct that he had to use when he was a smuggler.

He decided that he would find something in between and reached out with this Force to a medium sized boulder near Alexandra. He had learned telekinetic powers from his master and also had learned, at least while still so new to the Force, that once he had started to use the Force, like he was warmed up, it came easier to him. So, he reached out with the Force and sent the boulder rolling down to where Alexandra was. He had no intention to kill Alexandra. If she had something he could learn from her, then he wanted her alive. However, the blood lust in him had won the battle just enough that he sent the boulder down without thinking. If she really was out of the battle, then she would be squished. Isolder immediately regretted his action. He didn't shy away from taking a life. He was finding that would come naturally to him, but he had things he wanted to learn from her if he could.

She opened her eyes in an instant ant reached up, stopping the boulder a foot above her head as it hovered with dirt cascading down on her for a moment from the stone. She sighed and sent the stone flying right at Isolder now as she got up onto her knees, the pain still hurt but she had to push on now that she knew the blood lust in this man. Her breathing was heavy and hard, her shoulders slouched after the boulder had been sent on its way. She was tired but had to continue else die now that she knew that he would do such to win this battle. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

There was nothing Isolder could do to stop the flying stone, despite his best efforts. The thing hit him as he attempted to jump out of the way, sending him back to land on his back and hitting the back of his head hard, which also made him bite down hard onto his lip. He ached all over suddenly, pain shooting through his body. As he rose from the ground, he could taste blood coming from his lip and felt back to see his fingers red from the blood coming out of the back of his head. This did nothing but fuel the anger growing inside of Isolder. It channeled through his body more powerful that adrenaline every could. He was suddenly running at Alexandra when he didn't even remember moving his legs. His blade was held tightly in his hands as he swung it around with all the power in his body for a vicious swipe.

Alexandra took a step back and held up her blades in a X as his blade came crashing down on hers, bring her to her knees while he stood there with the blade trapped in the V of hers. "I yield..." Was all she could get out as he continued to push down on her bldes, her arms were getting shaky and her breath harsh as she was pushing every bit of energy, physical and force, into her arms to keep him from breaking through and cleaving her down the shoulder. She mustered a few words, coming out pleading and in a voice that bordered exhaustion to the point of collapsing.. "Please.... stop..." @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

It had been like Isolder had passed or blacked out and her words were like a splash of cold water or a slap to the face that woke him up. He stumbled backwards, unsure of what had happened. The past few moments had become a blur, something he couldn't quite grasp. Fear started to peak it's head in the bottom of Isolder. What exactly had happened? He had felt like he had totally lost control. Was this what the Force was supposed to feel like or was there something wrong with him? He didn't really know what to do. He simply looked back at Alexandra, his body suddenly weak and feeling all the wounds he had accumulated during the duel.

Alexandra fell back and looked at the sky now, breathing slowly while she felt the wound in her side, which had hit the very same place as the last person to wound her heavily hit her. It hadn't been far enough in that it would restrict her from moving, and the blade had causterized the wound so there was no threat of bleeding out, but the searing pain had her immobilized for a moment as she tried to seal off the pain coming from the wound. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder moved towards Alexandra, his vision seemed to become blurred every few seconds. The blow to his head must have hurt more than he had originally thought. He pushed that away though. He needed to stay focused. This could easily have been a trap for Isolder. At any moment, Alexandra could jump up and start another attack. He kept his lightsaber ignited as he went over. He thought he would take a chance, try to end the duel before she regained her strength. Placing his lightsaber at her neck, Isolder's voice spoke, but it was like someone else was speaking, his voice was deeper and more aggressive.

"Yield."

Her breath fell short as the hum of the plasma infused energy blade hovered over her throat, the word 'yield' reverberating through her mind. She was by no means done fighting but she knew when she was beaten and the pain in her side was starting to affect her as her breathing became harsher with the heat of the battle wearing off. "Ok ok, don't impale me through and we wont need to worry about me continuing this fight, got it?" @[member="Isolder Arterius"]

Isolder put away his lightsaber. He wasn't really sure what to feel. He had not expected to best the woman, but he had also not expected to almost have been taken over in combat. What was that? Was it something internal or was it Alexandra? He was confused and unsure what to think. However, he reached down to help the woman up. It was careless, she easily could have attacked him while he helped her. He was too busy thinking about what had happened to even notice. However, his mistake was lucky because she did not seem to attack him. So, he helped her up and then sat down on a nearby rock, pain pounding in his head.

"Well, looks like i need more practice..." She pulled herself up with his help and debated sending him to the ground with a quick sweep of her foot but he had won and she would not take that and throw it in his face, her body was pained a bit but nothing that a bacta dip wouldnt fix. "So, i think i promised you a reward for winning." She reached out and her sabers flew back to her hands where she then clipped them to her belt before staring back at the man with a smile, a simple reserved smile as she waited for the questions that were to follow. @[member="Isolder Arterius"]
