SPECIAL FEATURES

Microscopic shield projectors on plates for added protection.

Energy absorbing circuitry and reservoirs help manage and deploy shielding.

Plates offer vital protection while not inhibiting free range of motion.

Fail-safes help to prevent unnecessary damage to wearer.

Strengths:

+ Mobility: Designed to allow Alkor to move quickly and respond to threats in close proximity, the armor is notably intended for an agile melee combatant.

+Shielding: Alkor can activate the shielding with subtle motions, with or without a Heads Up Display. This shielding is extremely resistant to energy based attacks, but comes up severely lacking against a physical strike. Additionally, it has a duration of no more than ten seconds before it flickers out, and requires stored energy to activate.

+ It can take some abuse: due to the nature of Phrik and the durability added by the Desh, it can withstand strikes from tangible weapons as well as lightsabers. While it can't abate kinetic force as well as Beskar, it serves its purpose well.

Weaknesses:

-Energy Partitions: While some of its power stores are attributed to on board power sources, most of the reservoirs come from drinking in power from electrical based attacks, plasma, and blaster fire. Each segment stores energy independent of the others, and if it has not taken on any energy, it cannot activate its shielding. The wearer must be conscious of their reserves if they intend to utilize the shields.

- Critical Mass: Due to the energy sapping nature of the armor, its reservoirs are prone to filling up. When they reach a point where it is dangerous to take on more, they must either be deployed in the form of shielding or grounded out to prevent harm to the wearer. A skilled wearer remains cautiously aware of this at all times; failure to respond to this danger can result in catastrophic damage to both the armor and it's wearer.

- Venting Protocol: Created in response to taking on extreme amounts of energy all at once, the venting protocol is a last ditch means of letting off electricity in order to preserve the armor and its wearer. When engaged, all energy is dispersed and the armor is incapable of activating defensive countermeasures.

- Can't Touch This: During venting, the armor grounds itself- touching the armor from the outside can cause one to become part of the circuit, which means the electricity flowing out can jump to them. Allies and enemies alike, beware.

DESCRIPTION

Alkor tampered with holotech when he created his C-Type reactive shielding to develop heightened defenses for the already nigh-impervious Beskar'gam worn by Mandalorians. Regrettably, before he was ever able to run tests involving full integration with the armor, his own Beskar'gam was destroyed in the devastation of Eshan and he was left without access to his workshop or a medium for testing.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems had resources available for him to utilize, however. With the backing of their research division and access to materials, Alkor was able to craft new armor that would better suit his needs. Much less cumbersome than the weighty Beskar, an alloyed Phrikite-Desh was used for plating. This durable mixture boasted the electro-dispersive qualities of the Phrik while maintaining a density able to withstand impacts.

Alkor designed the underlay with a series of circuits that divert currents away from the wearer's body and into holoprojectors placed across the surface of the plates. The armor is strategically designed to endure electronic warfare, something Mandalorian Armor traditionally struggled with.

The shield projectors utilize a more refined version of what Alkor's deployable shielding was capable of- bursts of condensed energy across the surface of a given plate, allowing it enhanced protection against energy based attacks. While it is able to obstruct projectiles, it cannot disperse kinetic energy and is as such not intended for that purpose.

Extreme currents can overload capacitors along the circuit and potentially cause damage to the wearer including electrical shock. An overloaded capacitor can explode, causing a small scale explosion that can inflict harm, as well.

The armor can ground stored energy when power levels become critical, but this will cycle the shields and render them incapable of use during the duration. Additionally, stored energy will be lost.

Designed with protection from ranged assailants in mind, it also gives Alkor protection in close combat with Lightsabers as well.
