Alkor Centaris
Son of Liberty
NAME: Alkor Keludarian Centaris.
FACTION: N/A.
RANK: Mandalorian, Dark Jedi.
SPECIES: Corellian Human.
AGE: 28
SEX: Male.
HEIGHT: 5'8".
WEIGHT: 143 lbs.
EYES: Cerulean.
HAIR: Dark Brown.
SKIN: On the pale side of fleshy.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Steadfast Resolve: Among his trademark features, Alkor is implacable in the face of adversity. He rarely loses his cool, and he rises to meet challenges head on.
+ Expert Lightsaber Skills: Trained as a Dark Jedi by one of the more enigmatic masters in the galaxy, Alkor eschewed the traditionalist Jedi methodology of intense Force based training and spent much of his time honing his own body. Because of this, his natural agility and raw grit are well above average for any Force Adept. He practices Juyo, the Aggression Form.
+Survivalist: Alkor is damn good at staying alive. It might be what he does best, in fact. He can live off the land and he knows how to treat his own wounds, as well as rudimentary first aid for others in a pinch. He's far from a healer, but he can keep someone alive long enough to get them the help they really need.
+Intensity: With his experience, Alkor is as skilled as any veteran. He is a presence on any battlefield, and if he does end up leading men, he can boost their morale. He is also fairly intimidating.
+ Incredibly Agile: As previously glossed over, Alkor's natural (non-Force gifted) speed is greater than most normal members of his species, granted due to hellish training regimens, many battles, and a light physique.
- Abrasive: Alkor is difficult to approach and often acerbic in his mannerisms. He wins few friends with his skeptical outlook.
- Deeply Distrusting of Dogma: If someone subscribed to a code or a set of tenets, Alkor has learned that they are dangerous people. Sith tend to chase after goals and leave trails of dust in their wake, and Jedi seek to deny themselves with every breath. The only rational man is one who accepts that his cause is ego driven and doesn't espouse nonsense about peace or power.
-Exiled: There are few criminals who committed crimes so heinous that they can never go home again. For the most part, Corellians who committed acts of extreme violence were given the death penalty or subsequently imprisoned- for whatever reason, this was not the case for Centaris, who was damned with a fate worse than death for any True Corellian.
-Somewhat Oblivious: Things most people would take for granted are foreign to Alkor. He is highly versed in some aspects of life, and little more than a child in others. He listens intently and struggles to understand when people engage him in conversation about anything he is ignorant of.
-Not a Telekine: Alkor's greatest strength in the Force is that he has intensely honed senses, and this serves him well in combat. However, so much of his skill is devoted to combat prowess that he lacks the occult aptitudes that many Jedi and Sith vaunt. He cannot perform simplistic Telekinetic maneuvers or communicate Telepathically. (He is able to defend himself from Telekinesis, however.)
- No Healing Factor: Alkor does not heal naturally, as a result of the dark side corrupting his natural body functions. Blood does not coagulate normally, scar tissue remains long after wounding, and infection sets in easily if left untreated.
APPEARANCE: Since his youth, Alkor has spent most of his time on the fringes of society, and most of his interactions are of convenience. As such, he places little stock in outward appearance, and is commonly viewed as a vagabond. He opts for dark, loose fitting robes, trousers that do not constrict his movement, and the Crushgaunt that covers his right arm.
His eyes are a deep blue that fluctuate to a reddish color when he channels the dark side. It is noteworthy that he does not general have the appearance of being corrupted, rather inflicted wounds on his body do not heal naturally.
BIOGRAPHY: Born on Corellia to a single mother, Alkor never got the chance to meet his father. He grew up in the streets of Coronet, learning most things from traveling spacers and smugglers. When he was old enough to get a job, he got involved with the criminal underground and wound up taking a job that threw him on a shady path.
One murder would have been enough for most people to go straight. Most people don't have the stomach for killing. It eats away at a moral person's conscience, and tears chunks out of even the hardest hearts. Alkor found a thrill in it. He took one assassination job too many, however, and ended up caught in the act.
It was raw luck- or the will of the Force, if you buy into that kind of thing- that his future Master saw something special in him. Instead of simply garnering a death sentence, events fell in motion that parted Alkor and Corellia forever. Soon after leaving, he arrived on Muunilinst, a trip paid in full by a mysterious benefactor. There, he met C'thulu Plaga, and his world turned upside down.
"Pain is fuel for Power."
That maxim broke down every fiber of Alkor's being as he endured torment at the hands of the very man who saved his life. Each day that passed was a test, and every second was a psychological war. Plaga taught Alkor the nuances of the Force- the understanding that all things are intertwined, and that even the most insignificant players can have a profound effect. He tapped into something that Alkor had never known existed within him: a wellspring of potential. Simply killing was a vainglorious display of his inner strength; C'thulu explained his aptitude for combat, and further, for taking life came from the dark side of the Force. Unlike the Sith, however, Alkor quickly learned that the call was not a higher calling. The Force was a tool. It was a means to an end, not the end in and of itself.
After several grueling years, Alkor left the cabal in favor of his own path.
Alkor found himself among the stars again, for the thousandth time in his life. When he happened upon Dromund Kass and met [member="Kurayami Bloodborn"], the other Corellian explained to him the curious fate of their homeworld. Alkor proceeded to investigate the cataclysmic event and learned that the timeline he resided him was one of many hundreds of years after his own. No one remembered his misdeeds. No one was left to fear the name "Alkor Centaris."
Stranded in a galaxy where nothing was as he had known it, Alkor proceeded to meet with Nikias, Prince of Makrosia and attempted to forge bonds with other Dark Jedi. This endeavor ultimately failed, but he went with Saverok to the Mandalorian Crusaders and met [member="Isley Verd"] and [member="Keira Ticon"], who accepted him into House Verd. Since then, he has struggled with the cultural nuances of Mandalorian life and gone as far to outright resist some facets of it.
During the Omega incident, he fought alongside his newfound "sister" and ultimately killed Saverok, who had turned traitor and killed the well-loved Ember Rekali. He also fought with a Makrosian named [member="Atheus"], who he deemed a worthy rival and has considered an ally since.
Worth mention was his sudden and unorthodox marriage to [member="Joza Perl"], which has since become a source of endless humor for Keira and confusion, worry, and doubt for both Alkor and Joza. Moreso for Joza, of course. Alkor doesn't exactly get it.
