After loosing her arms and the continued threat of loosing her limbs whenever she engaged in unarmed strikes during lightsaber combat, Alina had these created. She had the alchemist focus solely on making sure no saber could cut through them. Not even sustained contact would cut through these. In exchange, the signature Force resistance of the Terentatek was lost. Their only goal is to keep her from loosing another limb.
