Intent: Personal Mandalorian armour for Alec Rekali.
Development Thread: If necessary, but the dang thing is basically stormtrooper armor, minus some features and coverage, with a couple of toys thrown in.
Manufacturer: Mandalorians
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Personal
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material:
Classification: Anti-Ballistic
Weight: 7kg
Quality: Main plates (helmet, pelvis, thigh, torso, shoulders, forearms) are class 9 vs ballistic, class 5 vs energy, class 5 vs melee. Under-layer is class 7 vs edged melee, class 3 vs energy, class 3 vs ballistic, class 3 vs blunt force. The two layers do not stack in a linear way according to this rating system; ie, a blaster strike against both the plates and the layer beneath does not have to deal with a cumulative class 8.
Special Features:
The duraplast forearm plates have moderate lightsabre resistance (good vs. individual strikes, bad vs. sustained/repeated contact). They include pivot blades.

The main plastoid plates are comparable to stormtrooper armor: "Although standard armor lacked the durability to make the wearer immune to cannon fire, it could partially deflect or disperse energy from low, medium, and high-energy blaster bolts; though the wearer may be incapacitated, survival would allow the trooper to receive advanced medical treatment that may return him to service. It also deflected stun beams, and served as excellent protection against explosions and shrapnel, thereby drastically reducing the effective casualty radius of fragmentation weapons used against troops wearing such armor. It was almost impossible to kill a stormtrooper with a slugthrower unless the bullet was abnormally large, specifically armor piercing, or if it hit the body glove or visor lenses." (src)

The sealed synthmesh/spun-plast under-layer/body glove can turn vibroblade edges and absorb a few blaster shots. It also includes a power armor liner, comparable to the undershirt used by Boba Fett: "This liner shirt had a micro energy field projector and two layers of thin ceramic plates, in order to disperse physical and blast impacts, reducing injuries and likelihood of knockdowns. The power liner also gave him increased protection from fire, acid, intense heat, and cold." (src)

Comparable to stormtrooper armor, Alec's armor is "fitted with air filters and fully sealed against chemical and biological attack; the armor could even protect the wearer against vacuum for a limited time...[and is] integrated with standard personal ray-shield projectors (in direct contrast of clone troopers) in order to survive open blaster fire in case cover was nonexistent or limited...Nevertheless, the power consumption of shield projectors was very high and they tended to overheat and fail under sustained blaster fire or under prolonged contact with a lightsaber and unless the trooper carried a power generator (which were very bulky) the shield projector could take several minutes until it could be reactivated once it failed. These factors made personal trooper shields very rarely seen on prolonged engagements and/or where terrain had a certain degree of surrounding cover." (src)

Alec's helmet is comparable in function to a stormtrooper helmet. "Automatic polarizing and anti-flash blinding lenses protected the trooper against intense glare and provided them with enhanced combat vision or Holographic Vision Processors (which allowed vision through many barriers such as smoke, darkness and fire.) Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System (MFTAS) helped with the stormtroopers' perception in darkness as well as smoke and other visibility obscuring conditions...Advanced Breathing Filters...acted as protection against chemical and biological attacks, as well as toxins." (src) The helmet also contains three minutes of breathable air, a short-range (20m) motion tracker/lifesigns detector, and a standard encryption-compatible rolling-frequency comlink. It can seal to the armor automatically or manually, involves full-spectrum active-cancellation protection against sonic weaponry, and includes the armor's temperature controls.

The armor's augmented reality overlays and shield generators will be disabled for thirty seconds by most personal/tactical EMP/ion weaponry, but will reboot without incident, comparable to Katarn-class commando armor. A palm combat de-ionizer, comparable to the standard stormtrooper issue de-ionizer, allows Alec to actively assist the process for her own armor or other electronics.

Alec's backhand plates are crystalline-manipulated, plas-bonded ostrine. The effects of a backhand strike are exactly equivalent to her standard ostrine brass knuckles, which she can wear over her synthmesh/spun-plast gloves.

Alec's forearm-mounted weapons are not flamethrowers, blasters, etc., or shatterguns like her grandfather's. They are, instead, hard-sound guns.

Alec's armor has a small holocam/projector which can function as a doubler suit.

Description: Alec Rekali isn't known for wearing her beskar'gam, and the suit itself is somewhat unconventional. Patterned after the functionality of stormtrooper armor, it contains almost no metal, increasing its lightness and flexibility -- important qualities for a wiry part-Vahla.

  • Lighter and more flexible than standard Mandalorian armor
  • Less primary-plate coverage than stormtrooper armor
  • Less effective against most melee weapons and energy weapons than standard Mandalorian armor
  • Main plated areas are, on average, more effective against projectiles/shrapnel
  • Lacks the barrage of sensor options available to Mandalorians
  • Not especially respectable by Mandalorian standards
  • Not vulnerable to magnetic man-traps
  • Can partially freeze targets with backhand strikes
  • Mounts wrist hard-sound guns instead of wrist blasters/slugthrowers/flamethrowers
  • Microthrusters can be deployed for zero-gravity operations; helmet compatible with air tanks

Everything is in order here, my only question involves the use of "crystalline treated ostine", which I can see is a thing based on it's wookiepedia page. For curiosities sake (and because google has failed me), do you happen to know what this is, exactly? Crystalline treatment, that is.

"Its properties were multiplied by ten-fold when Ketrian Altronel discovered that crystalline manipulation and plas-bonding of certain trace elements modified it, resulting in the mineral being able to freeze objects instantaneously that came in contact with it."

It's meaningless technobabble corresponding to high-efficiency ostrine. Presumably it's something to do with the submicroscopic structure of the metal.
