DESCRIPTION
The Alcove of Ord is not a company in the strictest sense of the word. Yes, they do live for a profit and yes, they will do anything to get that cash price (no matter what is in their way) and sure, they do have only the faintest idea what morality means. But- so, maybe they are a corporate enterprise in even the strictest sense. The Alcove is a coalition of several marauding groups banded together on a remote isle of Ord Mantell where they make their home. They pillage, they board, they steal and plunder, they fence- really, they do most things a self-respecting pirate group would do.

They have a deep working relationship with the ladies and gents over at TriGen, who usually hires them for certain purposes. The end goal is not known to them, but they don't truly care as long as they get to keep the booty.

Ord Mantell - The Alcove's home. A remote isle in one of the southern seas of Mantell is where they have established themselves. Over the course of a few decades the Alcove of Ord (which is where their name has come from) has become a mildly booming settlement in its own right. Its starport has grown from just a mushy landing platform to be able to host several corvettes and even a frigate could dock there now.


Rishi - The Alcove maintains good friendship with the several reaver clans that still survive out in the Rishi jungles. A small refueling depot and shadowport has been established in cooperation with one another. If the pirates of the alcove need a place to stay when they are in those parts of the Galaxy? They are covered.

Nar Shaddaa - There is a respectable presence on Nar Shaddaa and its planet, Nal Hutta. From a slightly larger outpost that serves as a transit station to a dedicated bazaar where the Alcove fences many of its goods.

Tatooine - A loose affiliation with several Tusken Raider clans has given the Alcove a semi-permanent base of operations on Tatooine. They provide the sandpeople with arms, training and spice in return the Raiders provide muscle, safe passage and resting places in their ever-moving tent camps that travel through the desert. This allows the Alcove contact with the Jawa clans as well, who frequently offer repairs and salvage in return for other commodities.

RATIONALE

The Alcove of Ord was established several decades ago by a cyborg with a burning eye and a raw metal arm.

That cyborg is gone, but the Alcove remains.

It has grown over the years, expanding and then settling itself down in contentment. The profits coming from their mutually-beneficial relationship with TriGen, the frequent wars throughout the Galaxy that weakens neutral systems, the hyperlanes becoming less and less patrolled... the Alcove has had its fair share of luck.

Of course, it helps that every once in a while innovation suddenly finds itself into their hands. Weapons that give them an edge, strange make-shift tech boosting them when needed most. Always experimental, always risky, but when it doesn't explode in their face it allows them to grab hold just a few more inches of profit.

Daro Tarsi might be a mad scientist, but he knows his tech, eh?

Oh, I have subbed T3s before, both as subsidiaries of T6 companies and as part of the capitalism reigns mandate. First time this is regulated that strictly, but fair enough, cut down on the locations and operations, also added the tier tag.
