Description:

As Aurora Industries's Weapon Division's next product, the AI-m53 "Hailstorm" Micro Missile Rifle is the answer to a question the design team had to ask: How can we make a rifle shoot rockets? The AI-m53 is designed to fire 30 Micro Missiles per clip, each missile having an explosive radius of .76 meters and is designed to have a semi-automatic firing rate. Non-armored targets will suffer damage equivalent to what one would expect from a hand grenade, while armored targets can take several of these before showing signs of damage (injury related to concussive trauma was not taken into account).

The AI-m53 does suffer from some recoil that can potentially hurt a user, the design team saw fit to include inertial dampeners in the stock to alleviate some of that recoil force. The AI-m53 also comes equipped with a targeting scope for precision aiming, but this can be removed if the user does not want a scope attached.

The weapon is only designed to fire Aurora Industries Micro Missiles and is not designed to accept any other types of ammunition, such as slugs or pellets. It also has the problem that if an EMP, lightning, or ion weapon is used against it, the extra electrical energy has a chance of igniting the missile clip, not just disabling everything.
