The Agni is outfitted with a comprehensive, full-spectrum sensory and scan equipment to detect valuable resources within new territories. It is small, lightweight and is capable of being quite fast when it needs to be. Cheap to produce the Agni is slowly finding its way to most prospecting worlds within the Outer Rim, Wild Space and the Unknown Regions.
Strengths :
- Comprehensive sensory and scanning equipment: It can detect, sort and pin-point any and all known minerals and metals. Through composition comparison unknown materials can be sorted by priority.
- Swift and agile: Its lightweight, small nature and the repulsorlift allows it to float around and reach places otherwise inaccessible.
- Cheap: Specialization allows it to be cheaply-produced as it doesn't cover anything other than what it was specifically made for.
- Fragile: While fast and agile, the Agni is not equipped with any shields and its hull is simple durasteel with some duraplast. If you hit it, it will go down.
- EMP: As with most electronic creations the Agni is susceptible to EMP/Ionic interference.
- Slicing: The Agni can be reasonable hacked into and sliced, because security wasn't a major concern for its design.
The niche of high-end probes have been filled by Theed and their comprehensive probe droids, but what if you do not have a space-fairing starship? Realizing this first-hand (when they considered putting in a supply order for several of their probes) Czerka decided to build their own equipment to serve their needs. The Agni is one of the resulting lines of probe droids: cheap to produce, light and fast with a comprehensive scanning/sensory equipment in a small package.
These probes are not as exceptional as the Theed-build quality. They have a (relatively) limited scanning radius of only several kilometers and each probe line is only suitable for the specific field they build for.
The Agni can only detect minerals and metals, but has a build-in sonar map to aid with the mapping of the territory the resources are in.
It is only the first in a whole line of probe droids that is aimed towards the low to mid-range sector of explorers, scavengers and miners in the Galaxy. It doesn't matter if you are deep bellow ground and can't find that rich vein of ore or if you are a scavenger, trying to find the valuable metals on a military hulk drifting in space.
The Agni is there for you.
