  • As this is the first ruleset for the game, there is always room for expansions and additions by the company in the future to rebalance or introduce new mechanics for players.
  • The company has made the rules available in both flimsi pamphlets included in the initial sets' starter decks, and digitally on the Holonet on the company's data page.
  • As the game evolves and grows, and metas develop among players, the creative team will occasionally issue a ban or limiting on certain cards within official variants.

CONTENT INFORMATION
  • Getting Started/Introduction
    • What You Need to Play - Age of Chaos requires a play to construct a deck of at least 40 cards, but there is no upper limit on deck size. Each booster pack and structured deck sold by the company also includes chips that detail various effects the cards can create or utilize. Structure decks also include a counter that players use to keep track of damage inflicted upon them by their opponent(s), although players can keep track with their own methods.
  • Cards
    1. How to Read a Card - Details how to understand a card's effects, energy/supply cost, their attack and defense power. Each card also has a quote or some line associated with or tied within the card subject's history.
    2. Types
      • Being - Cards detailing sentient beings, both human and alien, within the galaxy (i.e. Human, Mon Cala, Twi'lek, etc.)
      • Creature - Cards detailing non-sentient creatures found within the galaxy (i.e. rancor, bantha, acklay, etc.)
      • Artifact - Cards detailing various artifacts created by the denizens of the galaxy (i.e. Force artifacts of the Jedi and Sith, Legendary gear, etc.)
      • Tech - Cards detailing various technologies developed by the denizens of the galaxy (i.e. weapons, armors, cybernetics, etc.)
      • Vehicles - Cards detailing various vehicles developed by the denizens of the galaxy (i.e. tanks, walkers, starships, etc.)
      • Base/Biome - Cards that generate supply/energy for players to use in playing other cards within their decks (i.e. Republic base, Swamps of Dagobah, Jundland Wastes, etc.)
      • Planet - Rare cards that players can use for various beneficial effects to augment their fields (i.e. Coruscant, Corellia, Kuat, Korriban, Ossus, etc.).
      • Token - Cards detailing summonable creatures that can only be brought onto the field by another card's effect
  • How to Play
    • Utilizing alternating turns between players, each individual is able to play cards based upon the amount of supply/energy they have built up by playing bases or biomes. There are no limits on how many cards a player might have on the field, although they are limited on how many they can play per turn due to their supply/energy limit. Cards that are used up or destroyed in conflicts are sent to the Netherworld.
    • How to Win - Age of Chaos is a conflict-based game where opponents must attack each other and the cards under their control to reduce the Player Vitality Counter (players can determine how much Vitality they have at the beginning of each game). Another way to win is to deck out an opponent i.e. forcing them to draw when they have no cards left within their deck. In the future, the company reserves the right to develop other win conditions.
  • Conflicts
    • Being, Creatures, and Vehicle Cards can attack opposing players or defend against attacks from an enemy. Each Being, Creature, and Vehicle card has an attack and defense value (representing their ability to deal damage and protect/survive other attacks), with cards being destroyed if their defense value is lower than the attack value of a card attack they have intercepted. Various card effects can change these values or give cards effects that can aid in these conflicts.
    • Planet Cards can be conquered by an opponent by reducing its Resistance value by using Vehicles and specific Being Cards known as Armies, allowing a player to take away the bonus granted to their opponent and adding it to their own side. Planet Cards regenerate Resistance values at the end of each turn (value dependent on the card itself).
  • Variant Rules
    • Star Wars - An official format that allows only the use of Vehicle cards where players attempt to take down a Planet Card(s) under the control of their opponent. Each player can choose one planet card to play for free to start.
    • Beast Wars - An official format that allows only the use of Creature cards.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

With the funding from certain individuals flowing into the company, Alexander Haelzum began developing the ruleset for his dream card game. Getting together with his creative team on Coruscant, the team hashed out various rules and card types they wanted to develop for the game they were going to call Age of Chaos. Several card types would be introduced in the initial set, including the actual design for the cards, along with rules dictating how players could use the cards within their decks. Rules on how to win, how players would wage battle against opponents, everything they could think of was discussed and finalized. For some fun diversity, Alexander also made sure to include a few official variants the team had come up with during their planning sessions.
