Faction Aetherial Creation | Aetherium Society

ame-temp.png

The 9th Century (801 ABY - 900 ABY) is coming to a close and the Galaxy remains in conflict. Decades have passed since the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and the light that once showed brightly in the Southern Systems was snuffed out at the Sacking of Naboo. Other great galactic powers; The Mandalorian Union, Sith Eternal, and First Order had also fallen upon reaching their zenith of power and influence.

In the intervening years there were those that had risen to take the place and claim a mantle of leadership among the stars to direct the progress of billions, if not trillions, of lives. The Empire, Silver Jedi Concord, Mandalorian Enclave, and the Eternal Empire; all rose and fell in turn as conflict continued to consume the Galaxy. It seems that peace is a lie and war never changes.

As Galactic Events continued to transpire, there are those that have seen and lamented the loss of vast amounts of knowledge, artifacts, and lore during these collapses. Acting from the shadows, they seek to steal, recover, and horde knowledge in a hope of preserving it for future generations within their Vaults. They seek to carefully guide the development and progression of technology, and perhaps, one day; Guide the Galaxy itself into a new golden era of development, exploration, and discovery.

These are the goals of the Aetherium Society.

OBJECTIVE ONE: THE DIRECTORATE
Galactic Events have forced the hand of the Aetherium Society, and though it is preferred to have remained in seclusion for an extended period of time, it is no longer feasible. The organization has begun to reach out, often via proxy, in an attempt to draw those of great talent, resourcefulness, and capabilities into the technocratic cabal. Deep within the underlevels of Jutrand, individuals have begun to awaken, greeted by the visage of a woman that has greeted them and welcomed them into the heart of the Society… The Aether Vault.

OBJECTIVE TWO: THE FUTURE
Science and Technology remain at the very heart, and form the essence of what the Aetherium Society is; without Technology there is no Society. Individuals from across the galaxy have been recruited, carefully investigated, studied, and handpicked to form the core of those that will ensure that technological advancements will secure a future for The Society. A choice remains for those that have been brought here; Will they serve the Institute and lead the charge of technological advancement? Or will they join Aether and act as a public face funneling funds back to the Society?

OBJECTIVE THREE: THE PROTECTORATE
Every great organization needs a means to both protect itself and ensure that its goals are achieved; the Aetherium Society is no different. The Cabal was established to create a home for displaced and dispossessed spies and agents from across the Galaxy - given new purpose as they are placed carefully into positions of prominence as a means to serve and advance the goals of the Society and whisk away the secrets of those they infiltrate. Task Force 727 is an elite military force, it ensures that the Cabal and the Aetherium Society remain undiscovered and secure; be it maintaining security or assisting in covering up Cabal activities.

Taking place within the Aether Vault itself, there are a number of means by which you've arrived.

Perhaps you went to sleep at home and have awoken in the vault.

Were an agent driven into a corner and were extracted by an unknown and new ally.

Discovered a signal which lead you to the Vault Entrance itself.

The choice is yours…

OBJECTIVE ONE: THE DIRECTORATE

The last she remembered, Lady venge had been on her way back to check in on the estate she had acquired from a noble named Duke Elrandach who had sought to save himself from the Sith Empire's domination of Eliad. Having quickly grown bored of his presence and his sniveling demeanor, Venge had snapped his neck with the Force, most likely shocking Malum of House Marr
with her utter brutality. http://www.starwarsrp.net/threads/luxury-and-usury-so-dominion-of-eliad.171115/post-2237889

Her head felt as if it were a balloon connected to the rest of her body only by a thin cord, ready to float away at any moment, and she began to wonder if she had somehow been drugged. The very thought irritated her. She was a Sith Lord, who could possibly have gotten past her guard and secreted her away to.....wherever she was presently?

"I trust there is a satisfactory explanation for all of this," she called out. "Otherwise, I'm going to carve my way through your defenses....and..."

Venge's exclamation was cut short as her hands dropped to her hips, not feeling the familiar weight of her matched set of lightsabers. What in the blue blazing Korriban hell was going on here?

Something was wrong.

Ivixa Nera’kas came awake with a sharp gasp. The smell, the sounds, the texture of the bed she had been placed in, and yet more subtle factors immediately told the short-statured Asa’nyx that this was not her house on the Scintilla, but rather somewhere else.

Was she still on the Scintilla?

Ivixa sat up on the bed, her large, sensitive ears twitching as she listened for anything that might clue her into where she was. It was only then that she registered that there was someone else in the room with her—a woman with pale, tattooed features and piercing orange eyes. She initially seemed brash and confident, but it didn’t take long for the Asa’nyx to realize that she was just as confused as her, in spite of the woman’s verbal challenge, issued to no one in particular.

Glancing down, Ivixa saw herself clad in a nondescript white outfit. Naturally, none of her weapons or armor were anywhere nearby, so the Asa'nyx could only take a deep breath, before casting a wary sidelong glance towards the orange-eyed woman in the room with her.

“So I guess you know as much about this place as I do.”

"So I guess you know as much about this place as I do."

Venge spun around, catching sight of the Asa'nyx clad in a nondescript white outfit. Glancing down at herself, Venge came to realize that she was similarly attired, causing her face to twist into a look of complete disgust. White was NOT her color.

"If you mean to say that I know absolutely nothing in regards to our current situation, you're quite correct in your assessment.," Venge answered. "The last I remember clearly, I was aboard my ship, on my way to Eliad to check in on a recently acquired piece of real estate."

The feeling that her head was about to float away from the rest of her body wasn't lessening any, making it difficult for Venge to stay focused.

"Do you have the feeling that you were somehow drugged and brought here against your will? Because I certainly do."

“I was…sleeping. In my house.” Ivixa said. There had been a time where she was wealthy enough to purchase real estate, but that period of her life had passed with the collapse of the Eternal Empire. Her title as Baroness of Anthan Prime was little more than words on a holographic map now, as the world’s populace no longer considered her legitimate and she didn’t have any star destroyers to convince them otherwise.

"Do you have the feeling that you were somehow drugged and brought here against your will? Because I certainly do."

“I do, in fact.” Ivixa blinked, realizing that she felt somewhat dizzy as well. Nevertheless, it didn’t detract from her focus as she continued to listen for any clues which might point out where they were. At the same time, she found her gaze shifting back to the woman across from her, brieflying studying her tattoos and piercing orange eyes.

Was she a Sith?

Ivixa dared not mention her observation aloud. However, the tiny Asa’nyx had worked with Sith and Force-users before, on multiple occasions. While the Eternal Empire had maintained a policy against Sith, Ivixa had never truly cared for it or understood its rationale. In her mind, Jedi and Sith were more or less the same, aside from differences in their lightsaber colors and robes. She only knew that wherever they fought, they always seemed to bring death and chaos with them.

“They brought us here for a reason.” Ivixa said softly. “We both have something that our captors want from us.”

The tiny Asa’nyx was beginning to realize what those things were.

The Aether Vault
Undercity,
Jutrand

Few in the greater galaxy had seen the woman since the Sacking of Naboo; like many within the Confederacy of Independent Systems, she had fled into parts unknown in a last-ditch effort to save and protect as many that she could collect as the Shining Jewel of the Southern Systems shattered into many facets. Of those that would have likely known her from those times, they already knew that the woman had returned from those Regions Unknown and that she was, in some manner of speaking, still drawing breath; having not expired in the last few decades. She, however, seemed to be different than the woman that had originally stepped off the edge into the unknown. The individual that had fled into the darkness was reborn; no longer seeing herself as a destroyer or tool of war, she sought to step upon the stage once more, though this time in the role of Protector and Shepard.

The room was a stark white, designed to be both soothing and calming; those species that could see within the higher spectrums would notice easily the vibrant multitude of colors that danced upon the surfaces of the interior. The woman herself, unfortunately enough, was incapable of taking in such wonders, though that still did not prevent her own golden-yellow hues from falling upon the pristine surfaces as she carefully navigated her way through the grand structure. Her attention had been drawn away from the day-to-day tasks that had so often capitalized upon her time as of late, all thanks to a simple message that appeared on her screen and pulled her from the office.

"They are waking..."

It was a simple enough prompt that saw her now making her way down the hall, a half-smile upon her lips as her arms remained firmly behind her back, hands clasped together. As she approached the door, she offered a slight nod to the individual that stood next to it; their armor was just as pristine and white as the facility and in many ways reminiscent of a Clone Trooper. A gentle hiss emanated from the door as it slipped open to reveal, momentarily, the hallway outside to the two occupants before a silhouette filled the entryway.

Stepping forward, golden-yellow hues fell upon the two that had seemed to already be conversing their own reasonings and means as to how they had arrived in the facility, and why they had been targeted. These would be revealed in turn as the woman stepped forward, a pristine white lab coat with a high collar - appearing more like a military uniform than scientific - graced the woman's figure. That soft half-smile pulled at the corner of her lips, permitting, if only for a moment, a hint of a fang to be shown as she stepped into the room.

Fear did not seem to exist upon the woman's face, and why should it? She had seen her fair share of death and even came close to it once or thrice in her own previous ventures and commands. As she slowly brought one hand forward, she lightly coughed to clear her throat before she brought that same hand up; an empty palm showed, fingers pointing up as though she were requesting that the two remain silent for a moment.

"I see that you've woken... excellent."

She stepped forward, her flat palm pressing against the glass that kept the room split into two halves, an observation room and what appeared to be a recovery room.

"You are among the first to stir, and it is time to welcome you to a new chapter in your lives. You each have a reason for being here, and to put it simply, it is to aid in the collection and amassing of the knowledge that is being lost daily in the Galaxy."

Venge couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in disbelief at the revelation that both she and the Asa'nyx had been brought here to help aid in the collection and amassing of knowledge in danger of being lost to the galaxy. Lady Venge, last of the fallen Black Hssiss Order. The shadow from the past who haunted the troubled Jedi Alex StormWolf. Wanted by Darth Empyrean for daring to openly speak her mind in his presence about the current state of stagnation and decadence within the Sith Order. Why would anyone in their right mind choose her out of all the people in the galaxy?

"And what leads you to believe that a renegade Sith Lord is suitable for this venture you're proposing," Venge inquired at last.

Before the orange-eyed woman could answer Ivixa’s comment, the door slid open with a sudden hiss. The tiny Asa’nyx immediately turned her attention towards the door, her eyes taking in a tall, feminine figure clad in a pristine lab coat. She felt a hint of uneasiness when the woman’s golden eyes lit up in a smile, causing Ivixa’s heart to race inside her chest when the woman brought up her slender fingers to silence them.

"I see that you've woken... excellent."

"You are among the first to stir, and it is time to welcome you to a new chapter in your lives. You each have a reason for being here, and to put it simply, it is to aid in the collection and amassing of the knowledge that is being lost daily in the Galaxy."

"And what leads you to believe that a renegade Sith Lord is suitable for this venture you're proposing," Venge inquired at last.

Ivixa let a relieved sigh escape from her lips. She was all too happy to have gotten the mystery out of the way. So, the woman she had woken up with was not only a Sith, but a Sith Lord—a renegade one who had gotten on someone’s bad side. That was dangerous.

Even so, Ivixa still had a question of her own.

“And if we were to refuse?”

Of course, Ivixa had no intention of refusing or attempting an escape. At this stage, she could not help but to find herself intrigued. On the surface, the preservation of knowledge that was at risk of being lost forever was a noble mission. In addition, with her lack of Force potential and diminutive stature, the tiny Asa'nyx knew her limits. However, she wanted to know theirs.

How far would this organization go to see their mission complete?
