Designed as an advanced modelof the Chai La rollers that were used for seeking out enemy vehicles and heavy armor then exploding. The advancements in droid technology gave way to a newer and more combat oriented model that preformed many of the same functions but could also defend itself or an area before seeking out enemy armor or heavy forces. The workers at Saotome have been working on many of the things such as the software within the droids allowing them to be optimized at smaller combat droids able to go through ship vents and maintenance tubes. The droids can fight a little but they are not advanced combat models... their primary benefit is the explosive capability with hellfire grenades that will detonate and can potentially vaporize large areas.
