Adjustment To Submission Limits

Due to the volume of submissions the factory receives each month, coupled with the limited number of staff we have, going forward the limitation on the number of submissions allowed at a time will be reduced from three per category to three in total per writer.

This is aimed at reducing the backlog that we are frequently seeing since all of the changes were implemented beginning in December of 2017, as well as to help our judges to not feel burned out by the sheer number of submissions each and every day.

Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.

There are ten Factory Judges at present. The exact point of this is to bottleneck people from constantly slamming the Factory with an over abundance of submissions.

But why bottleneck it? As is, across the factory board there are 35 subs. That's 3.5 an FJ, which seems like something that could be dealt with on a per-FJ basis in a day, quite possibly less. Even if you increase that number, it's still a reasonably acceptable workload.

Because this was the decision taken by staff to limit submissions to a more manageable amount without making half of the submitters into factory judges.

Nobody needs 9 submissions in the factory at a time, all the time. It burns out judges and we receive a far more limited offering than past times due to the number of people who have already been judges. This is our answer for retaining judges and preventing flooding. The alternative is banning people from the factory who constantly spam submission after submission without giving the judges a moment of respite or giving other writers an opportunity to submit things and have them reviewed in a timely manner.

The factory is optional. Think about what you're submitting and if you truly need to do it or if you're doing it just to do it.

You'd swear people might have volunteered a few times to assist with backlogs though....

Lol just busting balls.

I have seen this thing when it was absolutely beyond ridiculous the number in there. So even if it is 35 across the whole monopoly, why push unpaid volunteers further? Again, yes I acknowledge that more FJs is a quick fix, but let's remember, if we go lax what's to stop people from doing the same only in opposite supply?

Suddenly we have 19.5 per FJ.

...why did I feel the need to make this post...
