Major Locations: Black holes on the edge of the system, which makes external travel difficult without the correct hyperlane knowledge. For natives of the sector, this is now common knowledge.

Culture: Adax is ruled by the Noble Houses of the Tapani Sector, which bleeds through into every single aspect of daily life on Adax. Five Houses have come to Adax to carve out their names - Houses Vorlent, Lys and Tyrae were the first three houses (and thus each own a moon as part of their territories). House Merales and House Xyra, later to the party, are minor Houses. Like the rest of the Tapani sector, each House maintains a House Defence Force, staffed and led by military in a very feudal system of knights and squires. Each House may nominate any number of Barons and Lords and appoint them to positions of power; one Lord rules as Master of the House and is typically referred to as High Lord. The High Council of Adax is comprised of three representatives, one each from Vorlent, Lys and Tyrae. Merales and Xyra are given a representative to other positions, such as ministry of governmental positions including commerce and military. The common citizenry are typically supportive of the rule of the nobility.

In terms of general societal culture, it is comparable to the ideals of the Galactic Empire of yore; fine art such as painting and marble sculpture, high music (typically orchestral with chanting) and rare culinary delights are the norm for nobles - and so is a small trace of the xenophobia, too. As so many of them are simple emigrants of other worlds in the Tapani sector, their mores and customs have little changed. There is no true oppression of the people, simply more resources given to the noble Houses that made the colonisation of Adax possible. For many outsiders, some of their customs appear rather unrefined - honour dueling, codes of behaviour for nobility as a whole, and even ancient institutions such as knighthood. Rather interestingly, the most prized creature on the planet is the nerf - a strange delicacy given that they are so common across the Galaxy elsewhere, but being imported they are a fine dish and hard to come by.

Technology: Adax enjoys standard technology found across the Galaxy. Being a scion of the particularly wealthy Tapani sector, all areas of technology are average to high for most coreward worlds. It is comparable to life on planets such as Alderaan and high-society Coruscant... for the wealthy, at the very least.

Strangely enough, the lower classes are replaced by droids to do most of the work - this is a holdover from the fact that the Tapani nobility needed a planet built up and colonised quickly. What droids are not left over from the original construction effort five decades ago are now imported from various companies. As such, droids are a huge part of the technological drive of Adax - however, they are never, ever permitted to hold true power. Fully sentient droids such as war droids are not permitted. Astromechs and protocol droids are the closest thing ever found to this on-world.

History: Exploratory vessels from Procopia, the capital of the Tapani sector, discovered black holes on the west-most edges of the Pelagia province. A number of planets were found beyond these black holes once a hyper-route was calculated through the black holes; one specifically was habitable, named Adax by the discoverers for their ship's captain. No true sentient life was found on this planet, making it ripe for the pickings, if a little isolated. The ruling Lords of Tapani decided that this planet was to found the beginning of a potential new Nymae Province for the expansion of their terrotry - if the new planet managed to thrive and expand its own borders.

This was fifty years ago.

To this end, the Noble Houses sent the fledgling Houses to Adax as their proving; the Noble House, or Houses, that could maintain control of Adax would be inducted into the inner circle back on Procopia and have a full say across the entire sector. Three smaller Houses left first - Tyrae, Vorlent and Lys as they were given financial backing by other Houses. Immediately droids and supplies were imported to quickly build rich architecture and construct cities for the incoming settlers. They ultimately set up their own societal structure, preferring to work together to quickly take advantage of the new resources available to them, such as mines upon the moons and luxurious woods, plus expansive grasslands. Each House laid even claim to one moon apiece and established their High Council of Archlords.

Once Merales and Xyla joined, they were given their own positions - but the alliance of Archlords would not be swayed. In the interest of fairness they were given minor positions to inhabit as they built up, but were never permitted to sit upon the High Council. Instead, Adax was tasked to bring itself up to proper Tapani standard - nobility acting properly, their own House Defence Forces. They were given a timeline of a few years to ensure they were up to this benchmark.

At this point in time, the deadline is soon looming and the Noble Houses of Adax seek to ensure they are up to the task of becoming true Noble Houses of Tapani.

Notable PCs: Uriel
Intent: To provide a backstory place thing to roleplay with. Seriously, nothing fancy.

Hey so this looks good, but I'd like some more cultural information. I know that they're humans, but such is our way to adapt differently depending on location and nationality. Do the Adaxi Humans have any specific customs? Is there a form of art they prefer over others? (as just an example) etc.
